Notice how long it took for them to mention she was a Dem? If she was a Pubbie, that would have been in the first sentence, if not in the headline.

I was surprised to see this written in the article:

"A Democrat, she is a former state legislator and U.S. attorney appointed by former President Clinton."

Facts like those are usually left out.

And she was probably in support of lowering BAC levels to 0.08 prior to getting caught.

But since she couldn't keep control of her car at what *should* be the legal threshold, she deserves a substantial punishment.

According to the Dodge County sheriff's report on the arrest, Lautenschlager refused to take a test to determine her blood-alcohol level.

I see she wasn't too intoxicated to understand that you never give the police the evidence they use to convict you.

She was driving a state-owned car when she was arrested. Lautenschlager, whose office works closely with local and state police agencies and operates state crime labs, thanked Dodge County officers in her statement "for their professionalism in handling this matter." She has been released from custody. A Democrat, she is a former state legislator and U.S. attorney appointed by former President Clinton. She was elected the state's first female attorney general in 2002.

I predict she will resign.

She only won with 51.6% of the vote in 2002. Maybe we can win a special election if she resigns.

Think CNN will report this? (Didn't think so)

Democrats feel they're above the law. Laws are for the peasant tax slaves, not them. That's just the way they are.

Of course hidden in the middle of the article, we find out what political party she comes from:

A Democrat, she is a former state legislator and U.S. attorney appointed by former President Clinton. She was elected the state's first female attorney general in 2002.

Is there a Controlling Legal Authority in Wisconsin or is she it?

Sure, I bet she only weighs 85 pounds too.

Refusing an alcohol test is an automatic DUI conviction in Wisconsin. Any bets on how the Democratic weasels get her excused from that charge?

I'm shocked, shocked! Too bad it's three years until she comes up again. Wisconsin Republicans should be able to take out the governor/lt and AG in '06.

Peg did some legal work for me back when she practiced out of a basement office in Oshkosh, Wi.

She had a nice guy for husband (back then) who had a great job and they a new baby boy...a real cutie...

I found her to be an affable woman..with a good sense of humor....

She was also a fairly typical- liberal -woman back in those days....imo she was 'put up' by the feminist machine...and kinda just went with the easiest flow..and more carried along by current rather than driven by any real personal ambition...

Unfortunately the seeds of her earlier indoctrination seem to have grown today's bitter socialist fruit...imo

I hope she recovers and gets sober...I also hope she gets a new job...and takes those two commies above her with her when she leaves..

Peggy's upscale. The usual excuse for a Cheesehead is "but ossifer, I only had a coupla beerzsh" while falling over during the field sobriety tests.

BTW, the refusal is an additional charge on a DUI. Peggy's got her tush in a sling.

You stated:"She supposedly registered at 1.2 but claims she only had a couple glasses of wine."

How could she register a 1.2 when she refused to take the test?

Paragraph 7, I'm impressed. They must not use the AP style manual.
