She was driving a state-owned car when she was arrested. Lautenschlager, whose office works closely with local and state police agencies and operates state crime labs, thanked Dodge County officers in her statement "for their professionalism in handling this matter." She has been released from custody. A Democrat, she is a former state legislator and U.S. attorney appointed by former President Clinton. She was elected the state's first female attorney general in 2002.

I predict she will resign.

She won't resign. Only people with real shame resign. She would require handcuffs and a jail sentence first. What are her stances on 1st offender DUI? Mandatory sentences etc.??

Resign? Wisconsin's "top cop"?

Its former "top cop", now Governor Jim Doyle, is opening a webpage for Wisconsin citizens to order prescription drugs from Canada, despite prohibitions to the contrary.

What is the law to these types?

Not so fast! Driving while intoxicated is bad but the Rats will protect and excuse her. Now, if it ever was discovered she may have missed a National Guard drill 30 years ago then she'll be toast!

I predict she will give a hand-wringing apology...And that will be the end of it.

Here in Okla. we've recently had the Leader of the State Senate...Cal Hobson...legislating drunk on the Senate floor...and the State Insurance Commissioner...Carrol Fisher...driving a state car while drunk...Both these guys apologized and have been "forgiven".

My guess is that if they both had had "R's" behind their names...the media would have demanded their "pound of flesh". And nothing short of resignation would have shut them up.

FWIW--
