Rush is saying the media is all worked up about whether this is a political ploy or not, etc.
He also says that he's glad to see Pres Bush is standing up for marriage, but the bigger issue is the activist judges because we can't pass a constitutional amendment everytime the judges circumvent the law.
Very interesting. Listen if you can...

Impeach one judge.
Ask "who's next?"
Repeat.

I'm against passing constitutional amendments for things such abortion and marriage, which are the purview of states. But the judges are pushing this.
I wish it were easier to get rid of judges, or 'overrule' their decisions.

SACRAMENTO--U.S. Senate candidate Howard Kaloogian (website: www.HowardForSenate.com) and Peoples Advocate leader Ted Costa have joined forces again in a recall movement, this time aimed at California Attorney General Bill Lockyer for his failure to defend the laws he was elected to uphold.
Kaloogian and Costa, the original promoters of the historic Recall Gray Davis effort, Tuesday launched a new recall drive directed at Lockyer for neglecting his duty to enforce state laws governing marriage.
The Attorney General is clearly abdicating his responsibility to uphold the laws of the State of California, and he should recalled for his malfeasance in office concerning the social and legal fiasco taking place in San Francisco, said Kaloogian and Costa in a joint statement
The attorney generals foot-dragging in this matter is unacceptable and is justification for the public to express their frustration through the recall process. We intend to move forward expeditiously to put another recall measure on the ballot, they said.
Kaloogian said Lockyer is ignoring voter-approved Proposition 22, which passed in 2000 by over 60 percent. Proposition 22 clarified state law by stating that only marriage between a man and a woman will be valid or recognized in California.
For 11 days the attorney general has fiddled while the legal turmoil has dragged on in San Francisco. His inaction amounts to malfeasance. Kaloogian said. The public has a right to expect the Attorney General to enforce the laws.
Lockyer is finally talking about taking action, but talk is not enough. Last year, Governor Davis had every opportunity to stop the recall by responding to the fiscal crisis and acting; he didnt. Lockyer has the same opportunity now, and we hope the lesson is clear dont abdicate your responsibility and ignore your duty to the people of California, Kaloogian and Costa concluded.
Kaloogian and Costawhose joint efforts resulted in removing Gray Davis from officebegan gathering signatures Tuesday on a notice of intent to recall petition. # # #

This amendment would take 7 years minimum to pass. Not that it will pass, because it won't. Marriage is a dying institution; whether civil marriage or church marriage, it's of less interest every day.

I tend to agree, constitutional ammendments are a dangerous path. There are too many people wanting new ammendments and the president shouldnt set a new current precedent.
Arnold Shwartzenegger wants an ammendment to let immigrants run for president. Ralph Nader wants to scrap the electoral college. (as does hillary clinton) Bill Clinton wants to drop presidential term limits.
We just need to get rid of activist judges.

He's right on, on this issue.
The judges, and the mayor of SF, are defective. In the old days, townsfolk would go to the offices with pitchforks in hand.
Sometimes the Constitution needs to me monkeyed with. I disagree that this matter is one that requires such monkeying.

I've tried listening on line, but my dial up connection is soooo slow, that the signal is a constant stream of burps and stops. The phone line just can't handle the bandwidth. Sadly, I have no other alternative to dial up, at least at this point.
The radio signal seems to be okay now (Fresno area).

Yes, I was listening.
He seems to not grasp that the activist judges are precisely why President Bush understands the proper remedy.
Yes, we all want to get rid of the activist judges. President Bush cannot just personally fire them.
Yes, Rush said he wasn't bashing President Bush, but the fact is he was.
