February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

OTTAWA - Ottawa's police chief admitted Tuesday that his force was part of a joint operation investigating Maher Arar before he was deported to a Syrian prison.

"The Ottawa Police Service played a role in the Maher Arar case," police Chief Vince Bevan said at a community meeting with members of the Muslim and Arab community. Bevan told Muslim leaders in Ottawa that his force's involvement "took place as part of joint police operations with other national security agencies, including the RCMP."
"To put it plainly, one of the investigations in which the Ottawa Police Service played a role was the Arar case," he said.
Bevan said he could not provide any details about the role of his department in advance of a government inquiry into the deportation of Arar.
U.S. authorities detained Arar at Kennedy airport in New York in September 2002, while he was on a flight back to Canada from Tunisia.
He was accused of having ties to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network and deported to Syria, the country where he was born. Arar claims he was tortured repeatedly while in custody. He was released a year later.
Bevan said he was revealing his force's involvement because he wanted the Musilm and Arab community to know before it became public knowledge during the inquiry.
"In order to build on the trust that exists between us, which has been built over a number of years, we believe it is important that this information be in the hands of the community in a timely fashion."

Regarding the clowns at Northeast Intelligence Agency (http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/), let us first thank God for him humiliating those clowns in front of every one on the net!!, they have perceived themselves as intelligence and information analysis's, which they have been gathering once we have posted them, so they live on what we Fitch to them just like Dogs on the streets.
The posting on their web site today of the comedian translation of (the voice of jihad 12) shows the limit of desperation they have reached, it shows the weakness of their intelligence community (when you cant find anything you start making up stuff!) of course there are more than 1 billion people around the world that can read Arabic well and know exactly what was in the issue 12!!Dont you think!! If I was on top of Northeast Intelligence Agency I would have fired my self at once for this stupidity!!
But thanks to God again, when he the (almighty) wants to humiliate some one, he humiliates him well. Alaah akbaar
And this also shows what kind of an impact the mojahideen are having on them. Its driving them crazy!!..;o) and for us this is more than a victory thanks to God almighty.
Secondly, we have to give them some credit; they are really doing a good job of being the comedians of the web! They really gave the mojahideen a laugh alaah akbaar..;o) Keep it up clowns.
The only thing we are worried about is them really believing that people are as stupid as they are (not every one in a circus is a clown)!!!!! Because that will certainly be worrying! Let us leave that for each and every one to decide by him/her self.
Regards to the staff of Northeast Intelligence Agency from the mojahideen, keep up the circus, especially the translation clowns.
May God protect the mojahideen and keep them a sword in the heart of America and its allies.

By the way Revel, I downloaded that visual route thing you told me about and it kept telling me my problem was a firewall, I dropped all my firewalls and it said the same thing. I finally got to talk to my tech support guy and they just told me today (after talking to them before) that "gee,you are behind one of our firewalls", so they're getting me fixed tomorrow. Thanks, for all your help!
March 10 (Bloomberg) -- The reduction of a jail sentence imposed in Indonesia on Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir is disappointing, the U.S. State Department said.
``We believe there was extensive evidence presented at his trial that described his leadership and his personal involvement in terrorist activities,'' State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said yesterday in Washington, according to a transcript.
Indonesia's Supreme Court yesterday reduced a three-year sentence on Bashir by half, the Associated Press reported. Bashir will be released from prison April 4, AP cited an unidentified court official as saying.
The 65-year-old Bashir was sentenced last September to four years in prison for immigration offences and treason. He was cleared on charges of heading the Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist group, which is blamed for the bombings in Bali in October 2002 that killed 202 people, 88 of them Australians. An appeals court later overturned the treason conviction and cut a year from his sentence, AP said.
``The murder of innocent men, women and children and other violent acts such as bombings in Indonesia demonstrate that terrorism is a grave threat to the security of Indonesia and her neighbors,'' Boucher said. ``Indonesia and its government need to stand firm against that threat.''
Bashir set up a religious boarding school in Central Java province attended by alleged Jemaah Islamiyah members where the establishment of an Islamic state was preached. Participants in Bali bombings graduated from the school. Bashir denied any involvement in terrorist activities.
Australia is concerned that Bashir may receive an early release from prison, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said yesterday in reaction to reports his sentence was reduced.
``We've been deeply concerned about Abu Bakar Bashir's role as the so-called spiritual leader of Jemaah Islamiyah,'' Downer said, according to a government transcript. ``If he is to be released, then that obviously would give Jemaah Islamiyah a bit of revitalization,'' he said.
