February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Just something to keep an eye out for since our military could/is being sent to Haiti:

Mohammed's religion finds a place in Haiti - CNN June 13, 2002

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (Reuters) -- Tucked away on a corner of the Haitian capital's dusty, congested Delmas Road, a modest white building bears a curious sign, painstakingly stenciled in green Western and Arabic script.

"Mosquee Al-Fatiha," it reads. "Communaute Musulmane d'Haiti."

An attendant splashing water on the ground greets a visitor who approaches the gate. "As-salaam aleikum [peace be upon you]," he says, breaking into a smile. "Welcome to the mosque."

Haiti, the Caribbean nation closely associated with the African-derived faith of voodoo, is home to a small but growing community of Muslims. Two Islamic centers in the capital of Port-au-Prince are among nearly a dozen around the country started by those who have converted to the faith.

Officials with the major Islamic groups estimate there are between 4,000 and 5,000 Muslims in Haiti, a nation of about 8 million people.

It would seem to me that if we want information or leads to help our cause, if we don't protect those who aid us, why would they bother? Why would anyone put their life and the lives of their families in jeopardy knowing interrogation by us would constitute a death sentence? If you're a scientist in Iraq, you're already in danger.

"Goodbye Cyprus"

ALI BULAC

02.27.2004 Friday

Goodbye Cyprus

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "How necessary is it to understand the latest point reached in Cyprus? Is the new process a victory that started in New York and is to be finished at the end of April? What kind of a result will emerge from the ongoing negotiations and anticipated referendum?

It may sound gloomy and even painful as well, however, once all is said and done there will no longer be an independent entity such as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Irregardless of how the negotiations finish between the two countries, what sway Turkey and Greece impart on the talks, or what decision Annan wil give in the end, all signs point to the end of an era for TRNC. At the very least we should be ready for this psychologically. Although the two sides' will abide by principles of partnership, sovereignty and equality, what we will come across in the end is the 'United Cyprus Republic'. A United Cyprus, having its own flag and national anthem! This new Cyprus, which will be composed of Turks and the Greeks, will be a full member of the European Union (EU) as of May 1st 2004.

A significant part of the Turks living in Cyprus are extremely satisfied with this outcome. They are profound in their joy of 'stepping out of hell and into paradise'. Those who regard the Cyprus issue as an obstacle in front of Turkey's membership to EU feel a great gladness in thier hearts that the 30 year period has finally come to this stage.

However, this issue has another dimension: Cyprus is not a simple piece of territory or nor is it composed only of the Turks living on it. The island has always had a historical, current and strategic importance for us. We have given thousands of martyrs throughout the history for this island which was joined to the Islamic territories on the 28th anniversary of the Hegira. The number of our martyrs in 1974 was 5 thousand. Cyprus has always been a part of our vision for the future. It is the only place where we gained territory in the last 300 years. From a strategic aspect, it is like a 'fixed ship' in the Mediterranean. Those who have some expecations from the East Mediterranean, North Africa, and the Middle East cannot overlook this island."

Ira Kurzban (SP?), Haitian Government lawyer (Aristide's attrorney)was just on Fox News interviewed via telephone by Rita Cosby stated that he was concerned about the whereabouts of Aristide. Stated that Aristide had not signed a letter of resignation and was taken away at gunpoint by the behest of the American government and CIA. Kurzban said that no one (he or Aristide's family)had heard from Aristide in the past 15 hours.

Very intriguing. I agree with you that we got OBL back in January, but kept it secret out of concern for AQ's reaction (multiple WMD attacks in the US, Britain, SA, etc.) It certainly seems like Iran is involved. They just hushed up Qaddafi- saying if he talks about their nuke project, he gets overthrown. They just, 2 days ago, signed a mutual defense pact with Syria. We just let it be known that we know they can build a nuke in several hours. We are probably behind on this- actually I'd imagine they already have nukes aimed and ready to go.

IMO, we are undergoing some major discussions with all parties involved- second track discussions, emissaries from other countries making contacts, etc. I think we have told Iran that if we get nuked (or Chem or Bio on our troops) or ANYTHING disastrous happens, they will be nuked not only by us but by Israel. Syria will also be taken out.

However, at the same time, I think Iran holds some cards. They know we need them to try to defuse AQ attacks. They are also allied with Russia.
Much more is going on than we will probably ever know.

When I read this, my reaction is:

Yes, we got OBL as per Sean's scenario. Now, we are building up in Pakistan - not to find OBL- but to safeguard the Paki Nukes. (It gives Musharaff a way to save face while letting US forces into his country.)

The gun grabbers are busy laying one anti-gun amendment after the next on top of Larry Craig's S1805. Craig's bill was intended to shield the gun manufacturer's from liability lawsuits. Now, Barbara Boxer has an amendment tacked on to require sales of "approved" gun locks with penalties of $2500 and potential loss of an FFL license if the dealer fails to sell an approved lock. Kennedy is trying to ban centerfire ammunition that has the ability to pierce a law enforcement bullet proof vest. That is essentially ALL centerfire ammo. Certainly all rifle cartridges. Lots of special amendments to exempt existing liability lawsuits are being offered. Craig himself offered an amendment to "study" armor piercing ammo. A few looney senators want amendment to extend unemployment benefits. The leftists are having a good time. They don't want anyone to hear about this. Shhh! No gun stories right now.

Where is the outrage?!!!!!!!

You are 100% correct wondering that. That was a horrible way for those people to die and it seems there is little or no resistance to the extremists in their homeland and no lead except in the USA and its allies to fight these murderers. Bringing them to justice is a whole 'nother story if you know what I mean.

Latest from TraVeller2022:

Re: The` "expected" strike , part 3 .. dates

quote:

Facts are facts but the theoryes am mentioning are based on readings and dots connectings , and if you dont feel a danger is comming from AlQaeda then save your time and dont read the rest .

Intro :
* 80% of the human resources of FBI and CIA are dealing now with the threats of AlQaeda . +++
* AlQaeda speeches accent became very much optimistic and self convinced since july 2003 , and maintained the same accent till now . +++
* There is absalutly no american official deny a danger comming from AlQadea . +++
* AlQaeda abality ( according to western militery analyseses and security recourses ) to comitt minor strikes increased from an attack every 12 months back at 2002 , to an attack every 6 months at 2003 , to an attack every 2-3 months now . +++
* Since last summer , AlQaeda stoped urging its supporters to join battle feilds but asked them to stay on alert ( to avoid human loses ) ++

Also i mentioned many evidences at my previous two threads , part 1 & 2

Now , weird things are going on at Afghanistan :

* U.S hands at Afghanistan are not tied 100% but also are NOT free 100% . +++
* U.S stopped two major militery operations at Afghanistam last nov/dec :
One of the operations named " Mountain Resolve " it was mainly against AlQaeda , there were reports about the operation before it was launched , the preparings ... etc , Two days after it was launched it was stopped !! +++
* Taliban acheived some progress on the ground +++ .
* U.S militery actions were either ( answering back fire ) or ( minor attacks ) against suspected Talibans here and there . +++

The followings mostly theoryes and am not asking anyone to beleive them :

* AlQaeda managed to resolve the last rock back at july 2003 , i mean .. a huge progress was acheived at july 2003 . +
* Disregarding specific dates and details , just one thing left .. trigger to be pulled ! ++
* The strike was put on hold at DEC2003 , why ? read the above news from Afganistan . +
* Your gov is fully aware of whats going on . +++
* Your gov is fully aware of the type of the strike .+

The date of the strike :

* AlQaeda is studying carfuly the sequences of the strike . +
* AlQaeda needed time to do some arrangments at the middle east regarding calculations and preparations to handel the American respond back . ++
* AlQadea needed time to complete its preperations to comitt intensive attacks against u.s troops at afghanistan and Iraq , those attacks will join the strike at the american soil , encluding using chemicals +++.

So i beleive things will remain calm for some time ( weeks or few months ) UNLESS the u.s rushed the date or if it pulled the trigger against its own head , how it will do that ? +

By comitting attacks against the afghani/pakistani Bashton tribes areas ! +

Thats all what i have

"So i beleive things will remain calm for some time ( weeks or few months ) UNLESS the u.s rushed the date or if it pulled the trigger against its own head , how it will do that ? + By comitting attacks against the afghani/pakistani Bashton tribes areas ! +"

Anyone believe this or have an opinion on the above paragraph???
