"We were only following orders."

Is it any wonder that Germans are so enamored of Kerry?

The three-day circus featured tales of the most sadistic forms of torture, including genital mutilation and gang rape, and wanton mass murder of innocent civilians. In the words of Kerry three months later to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “These were not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command.”

Notice any irony now that all of this IS true of Saddam?

So McAufille whines this morning on TODAY about "Kerry's 3600 votes in Congress over his career, and the Republican just cherry pick a few votes."

I guess that would be similar to J. Dahmler's lawyer telling the jury that he'd had over 20,000 meals in his life, and the procecutor is cherry-picking just a few to complain about!

I may be biased since he gave our site a nice review, but man, this guy can really write. Joel also has an excellent sense of what's important and what isn't -- photos with Fonda and Kerry at the same event are not important; the fact that Kerry charged the U.S. military with mass murder as policy based on a bogus event funded by Fonda is...

n excerpt of historian Guenter Lewy’s book According to America posted on WinterSoldier.com discusses the results of a government investigation that attempted to corroborate the claims made at the VVAW event in Detroit. The investigators couldn’t.

According to Lewy, the VVAW had told its members not to cooperate with the government inquiry—a probe that was initiated by Sen. Mark Hatfield of Oregon in order to verify gruesome claims made at the VVAW-sponsored event. The historian also notes that government inspectors found veterans whose names had been used by people testifying in Detroit that were not actually there.

Unfortunately, though, the Naval Investigative Service (NIS) inquiry into the WSI atrocity claims has disappeared.

Great if we could name names of those witnesses who provably lied in the Winter Soldier Investigation, but I have yet to see those names, along with the text of their lies and how we prove the lies.

I've read that Al Hubbard, an executive officer in the VVAW, wrote the foreward to the WSI book, but I don't know if he counts as a witness.

Al Hubbard got debunked - he lied about his rank and apparently didn't go to Vietnam at all. I think if someone queried Kerry about Hubbard, he would readily admit he got fooled, while still upholding the truth of the WSI.

This may change (the appearance of solidity of the WSI) as interest in the topic increases. I see this issue, false atrocity claims, as very important as it challenges a central myth of the left.

More importantly, false atrocity claims make real atrocities easier to dismiss. A concern for all, regardless of party.

Three cheers for wintersoldier.com! It seems like a no-nonsense filter site on this WSI controversy.

Hopefully soon a loud and prominent controversy.
