A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Lord Jesus, Savior of the World and King of Peace, watch over our sons and daughters in the service of their country. Keep them close to You and give them courage to serve their country with honor and dignity. Be with them when they are in danger; strengthen them when they face hardships. Above all Lord, grant that when their service is finished they may return to us, sound in mind, body and soul. And Lord, for those who give the ultimate sacrifice with their lives for serving our country, please touch and minister grace and healing to their families. Amen

Below are names of some of our FReepers' loved ones who are serving our country. If you have someone you would like to add, please address a post to Billie, Mama_Bear, Dansangel, Dutchess, or Aquamarine, and we will add them to this list. As we pray for them, we pray also for all our nations leaders, and military personnel, and their families and friends. May God hold them close to His heart.

How Would You Answer?
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout . . . . And the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:16
Bible In One Year: Numbers 1-3; Mark 3
Sir Norman Anderson was invited to give a television talk on the evidence for Christ's resurrection, a subject that he had written much about. When his son died of cancer, the program producers offered to cancel his participation, saying, "You can't speak about the resurrection when you've just lost a son." But Anderson said, "I want to speak about it now even more." And so, sad in heart but with great assurance, he spoke of Christ's resurrection, and ours as believers.
The resurrection of Jesus is no mythit's a historical, well-attested fact. Indeed, it's an eternal fact! Jesus declared, "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore" (Revelation 1:18).
Jesus spoke to His disciples about His own resurrection and reassured them, "Because I live, you will live also" (John 14:19). And Paul wrote of the Christian's resurrection, teaching that when a fellow believer dies we don't need to sorrow as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
When Lazarus died, Jesus assured Martha that whoever believes in Him, though he dies, shall live again (John 11:25-26). He then asked, "Do you believe this?" Martha replied, "Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God" (v.27). How would you answer? Joanie Yoder
All flesh, as grass, shall pass away
From this vile world of sin and strife;
The one who sleeps in Chirst today
Will wake to resurrected life. Benson
Christ's resurrection is the guarantee of our own.

Good Morning, Everyone !!
Here are some photographs of the very beautiful Denali in Alaska.
It was renamed Mt. McKinley, but magnificance by any name, is the same.
We drove to Mile 125 (close to the base) and then went back to camp
at Mile 88 near it in the summer of 1965. Standing there at an overlook, the scene stretching forth
was so VAST and awesome it is indescribable,
prompting the realization
only God could have created such a thing!
Mere pecil dots on it were moose foraging,
and the colors were wonderful those August days....
He is indeed the Creator and Lord of all !!

Just came across a photograph that appears to be the very same section of the Mt. McKinley range I photographed in 1965!
I took three of those slides and created an oil painting (15 3/4" x 19 1/2") composite of them.
The foreground was not green then, but had lovely mauvey/peachy flowers abounding by a stream meandering through the landscape; the stream mirroring the purplish range.
It created disharmony at home when I did it in 1972, though. My husband had decided he wanted to do oil paintings and invested in the requisite equipment. Did 3 or 4 paintings while outside in the carport, and the neighborhood children gathered around and laughed..:))
He put them out at the curb for garbage pickup, crushed...
The next week I had a day off from work, and taking the 3 slides, thought I'd give painting a try, and painted away from 9:30 until 4 p.m. - the only free time I had before the children were home from school.
It turned out a reasonable facsimile, and he never painted again - nor did I.
Let there be Peace in the Valley - LOL
Here is that range line.
You cannot discern it very well here,
but behind the dark line,
the taller white peaks soar to the sky:
