Yes they are and are doing a very good job of looking outside the mainstream. Its Chicago 1968 all over again, only this time the Loony Left isn't protesting Vietnam, its knocking the American consensus about marriage and the family.

They can't possibly think that will work, do they?
They are Liberal and in love, of course they think it will work. And if it doesn't well at least we shook the breeders up a little.

Yeah. The Democrats problem isn't they really object to gay marriage per se, its that Gavin Newsome committed a political blunder by going ahead with shoving it down Californians' throats in an election year. And now every Democratic officeholder is being forced to take a stand. This is who liberals really are at their core when you strip away the phony "moderate" mask from them. See what they are doing in Massachusetts, San Francisco, and New Mexico is exactly what they believe in their hearts and the rest of us just have to accept that man-woman marriage is dead and buried for good. After all, the liberals know better what is true equality.

This is who liberals really are at their core when you strip away the phony "moderate" mask from them.

Two liberals I know from New York came to visit me recently...they asked me if I thought "gay marriage" would be accepted in America...I said most Americans do not agree with gay marriage....they said the reason most of middle America don't agree with it is because they are just plain stupid. I said it is not that they are stupid...they have a moral conviction that it is wrong...they said that most Americans are dumb and need to be educated...I said how to you propose to do this. They said it is all ready being done in the public schools.

Since it is now a two man race.

here is the D candidate positions.

From John Edwards web site:

***

Statement Of Senator Edwards On Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Decision
Senator John Edwards (D-NC) released the following statement today:
"As I have long said, I believe gay and lesbian Americans are entitled to equal respect and dignity under our laws. While I personally do not support gay marriage, I recognize that different states will address this in different ways, and I will oppose any effort to pass an amendment to the United States Constitution in response to the Massachusetts decision.

"We are a nation comprised of men and women from all walks of life. It is in our national character to provide equal opportunity to all, and this is what unites our country, in laws and in shared purpose. That is why today, we must also reach out to those individuals who will try to exploit this decision to further divide our nation, and ask them to refrain from that effort."

Personally opposed but will actually vote in suport.
It is a lawyer technique.
He may be personally opposed but as a legislator he would act to support it.
He is hiding his actions behind feeeeelings.

From the JohnKerry web site:

NOTE: KERRY WANTS HOMOSEXUALS IN THE MILITAEY.

A Record of Working on Behalf of Gay and Lesbian Americans
With a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign since 1995, John Kerry is a powerful voice in the ongoing fight for civil rights for gay and lesbian Americans.
[underline added]

Priorities
Preventing Hate Crimes
John Kerry is an original cosponsor of the Hate Crimes Prevention bill, which would extend federal jurisdiction over serious, violent hate crimes. These would include crimes motivated by sexual orientation. Hate crimes rose a disturbing 3.5% from 1999 to 2000.

Ending Discrimination
One of John Kerry’s first acts as a U.S. Senator, in 1985, was to introduce a bill prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. He supports passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and has adopted a nondiscrimination policy for his Congressional offices based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

HIV/AIDS Funding
John Kerry cosponsored the first Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act (CARE) - which represents the largest discretionary federal investment in treating individuals with HIV and AIDS. Kerry also sponsored the Vaccines for the New Millennium Act, aimed at boosting contributions to the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, a non-profit group working to promote development of an HIV vaccine in 2000. Kerry introduced the U.S. Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria Act, which would increase the U.S. government’s funding of international HIV/AIDS efforts from approximately $1.7 billion in 2003 to $1.9 billion in 2004. This effort led to the unanimous passage in May 2003 the United States Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria Act of 2003. AIDS activists characterized Kerry as one of Congress’s top leaders on HIV/AIDS policy.

Protecting Gay and Lesbian Families
John Kerry believes that same-sex couples should be granted rights, including access to pensions, health insurance, family medical leave, bereavement leave, hospital visitation, survivor benefits, and other basic legal protections that all families and children need. He has supported legislation to provide domestic partners of federal employees the benefits available to spouses of federal employees. He was one of 14 Senators -- and the only one up for reelection in 1996 -- to oppose the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
[IOW: Kerry does support homosexual marriage.]

Lifting the Ban on Gays in the Military
John Kerry opposed the Clinton Administration’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy” He was one of a few senators to testify before the Senate Armed Services Committee and call on the President to rescind the ban on gay and lesbian service members.

[underline added]

Support for Civil Unions

John Kerry supports same-sex civil unions so that gay couples can benefit from the health benefits, inheritance rights, or Social Security survivor benefits guaranteed for heterosexual couples.

Picture not directly related to speech below.
Subjects were same or similar when he spoke to HRC homosexual interest group.

a candidate with a 100% HRC rating will vote for homosexual marriage.

This issue will not go away.

Look familiar?

Article IV

Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. And the Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof.
Section 2.
The citizens of each state shall be entitled to all privileges and immunities of citizens in the several states.
A person charged in any state with treason, felony, or other crime, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another state, shall on demand of the executive authority of the state from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the state having jurisdiction of the crime.
No person held to service or labor in one state, under the laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in consequence of any law or regulation therein, be discharged from such service or labor, but shall be delivered up on claim of the party to whom such service or labor may be due.

"Article IV

Yes. But Full Faith and Credit is not given to illegal acts in another state.

The procedure is illegal in California. 60% of California voters supported and passed the proposition restricting marriage to traditional couples.

Those state laws would be unconstitutional as the US Constitution is the Supreme law of the Land and superceeds state constitutions.

It is illegal, and I personally hope the California courts will uphold the law. It could turn into a major court fight, and if the marriages are held to be legal watch out.
Of course, that section of Our Constitution doesn’t apply to concealed carry, so we may be safe for a while longer.

The constitution is a limit on government and specific rights. Basically if the constitution doesn't say something is illegal it is not. The individual states and territories can make laws that outlaw something but the laws are not written and admendments are not written to make something legal.

That's the premise of ex post facto laws.
