A Prayer for Another Tiny Baby
Brad's Gramma | 2-20-04 | Myself

Posted on 02/20/2004 4:48:12 PM PST by Brad’s Gramma

Well everyone, I'm back with an urgent prayer request for yet another tiny baby. I don't know what the outcome of this will be, our Lord knows, and only He can handle this situation.

My niece Ann and her husband Mike were married this past September and became pregnant on their honeymoon. They found out last Tuesday during a doctor's check-up that something was not right with the pregnancy. She went in the next day for an ultra sound and found out the baby is severely physically handicapped. He has a disease that will not enable him to live out of the womb.

The doctors gave them the choice to abort the pregnancy, but they could NOT do it. Ann said she could NOT stop a beating heart.

Ann and Mike named their precious baby Matthew Paul. He's almost 23 weeks "old". The little guy is moving around in the womb, his Mommy can feel him. She may or may not be able to carry this pregnancy to term...this is all in the Lord's hand.

The bottom line here is one of three things....Matthew will NOT make it to term, or he WILL make it to term but still not live, OR our God will heal him in the womb. We've all heard of cases where the doctors HAVE BEEN WRONG, urging an unnecessary abortion. I don't have an answer ... none of us do. I DO KNOW that God is an AWESOME GOD and is able to use this baby and his parents in a mighty way.

My friends, we prayed for another baby and look how that turned out. I beg you to pray for Ann, Mike and Matthew.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you again, on our knees begging you to heal a baby whose chances are mighty slim. Lord, we KNOW that You're the Great Physician and can heal whomever You wish. We also know, and acknowledge, that Your "yes" is not always OUR "yes". Please Lord, give Ann and Mike the spiritual, physical and emotional strength to go through with the remainder of this pregnancy. Lord, please give every health care provider YOUR wisdom. Please let Your words be their words. Please let Your decisions be theirs. And Lord, if it's Your will that Matthew not spend time with his parents here on earth, we thank you for that, too. We know that he will see YOUR face, he'll stand before YOUR throne, and for that we thank you. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.

Prayers for Ann, Mike, and Matthew. They made the correct decision regardless of the outcome.

It is up to God to give and take life, and EVERY life, no matter the length, has its purpose. Ann and Mike will grow in God's love, and Matthew, if he has a short time, will always be their special angel.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this precious life and we thank You for his parents, who honor life and have chosen not to have an abortion. Lord, You have said "Suffer the little children to come unto me;" therefore, we lift Matthew Paul up to You, asking that You bless him and keep watch over him. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask for healing that he may be a healthy young lad but we acknowledge that You see the whole tapestry while we see only parts. Use this tiny life to glorify Your name whether it be in this realm or in Your heavenly kingdom.

Father, let this experience bring Ann and Mike closer together and closer to You as they seek the strength and peace that only You can provide. Amen!

Again, if everyone would PLEASE put this new, wonderful family on their churches, Bible Study, etc., prayer chains, it is REALLY necessary.

I thank you all, more than you'll know, for these prayers.

THANK YOU! And you're not the only one. I'd give anything to take care of this and make it all better. She has SUCH a sweet, gentle spirit...she's such a Godly woman...I know that somehow, some way, God IS going to use this to His glory. It's just this pain, now, that's so hard.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that Ann and Mike have placed their trust in You. You have known Baby Matthew since the foundation of the world ... You have chosen Ann and Mike to be his parents, and we praise You, O God, that they have honored Your trust. May they rejoice with each beat of his tiny heart ... may they thrill with every movement of his tiny body ... yet bind up their broken hearts as they contemplate that he may quickly return to You.

How often we have repeated Your words, O Lord ... that in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. You, alone, are Sovereign ... You, alone, are the Great Physician. We ask, Merciful Father, that Your healing hand would be upon this tiny baby ... may the tears of his parents wash over their little boy, and may he be brought forth in joy and in health. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

Ann and Mike named their precious baby Matthew Paul

Oh my dear friend: Guardian angels are perhaps the most popular kind, probably because we all know how fragile life can be. …We desperately need protection from unexpected circumstances and unseen dangers. Just the thought of good angels hovering around us gives people a feeling of safety! - Gary Kinnaman,“Angels Dark and Light” From "Angels All Around Us." I ask the angels to see Matthew Paul to this world and allow him the love of his special parents.
