"Social issues don't matter...they will NEVER come up on a state level for the next three years...this is all decided on the federal level...nothing will change in California...abortions and gay rights are not affected...a governor's stance on social issues is irreveivant...what California needs now is a FISCAL conservative...ONLY fiscal issues matter...blah blah blah" < /arniebots>

Gentleman, your crow is served.

"Exactly what the true conservatives predicted. GAY RIGHTS UNDER AHHHNOLD"

?!??! Huh?! Are you saying that the governor has come out in support of this action?! Or are you extrapolating to further your own agenda?

There's really no need to answer that actually. . .

Oh I'm sure you're real proud of making up your own quotes. Anyways, I can't really figure out how you equate the fact that the mayor of SF is not sitting in some jail somewhere to Arnie is fighting for gayrights?!

You guys are just too much sometimes with your false accussations. I wish you'd get your facts straight.

McClintock has no spine, he's just preaching to his choir.

McClintock has no power and even if he did, it's very clear after watching O'Reilly tonight that he wouldn't be doing anything differently than what Arnold is currently doing. Except he might place a comma somewhere else in his high minded speech verbally rallying against the mayor.

This is not an alternate universe. McClintock didn't win nor would he have.

McClintock sees the world through black and white glasses and so do many of his followers. He speaks from platitudes of greatness that he has yet to achieve.

It's easy to talk when you don't have to back your talk up with action.

That's why McClintock is talking nonstop.

If you don't think people are entitled to express their opinions, why don't you set an example and stop posting yours?

After seeing McClintock on O'Reilly it's obvious he would have done NOTHING to stop the San Francisco Fiasco so the "true conservatives" got bamboozled again.
If the mayor is complicit in this action, why haven't the citizen's arrested him?
Isn't there such an action as a "citizen's arrest"?

Yep, but it seems that the McClintock crowd are still sitting up on their high chairs thinking that if a magical governor McClintock had sent in the state troopers that they would've not only arrested half of city hall, but that they would've of also beat down the hundreds of reporters their and confiscated their cameras.

Because that the kind of goverment we need to deal with these "insurgents".

I wonder how these same people would of felt if Justice Roy Moore and his supporters would've been dragged away and tossed into prison to rot for civil disobiediance. . .

Foresight is a nasty thing sometimes.

Oh he's entitled to express his opinions. I just think that he's full of crap when he talks from platitudes that he has not achieved.

Even the governor doesn't have the power to stop a bunch of gay activist judges from twisting the law into a pretzel to promote Adam and Steve "marriages."

There's a judge on the California March ballot, a Daniel Zeke Zeidler, who is endorsed by the leftist (and out of the closet lesbian) State Senator Sheila Kuehl. He'll probably win, too.

Oh yes! It is much more important to appease CNN and ABC than the voters of the state. Good heavens! How awful it would be to have a governor who enforced state law voted for by the people.Polls are all that count. Thank goodness the stupid state party put in a RINO!

What will the media say about Art Torres and his cavalier dismissal of the will of the people? That proposition, defining marriage as being the union of one man and one woman, was passed by 60% of the people in 2000 and he's claiming that already opinions are changing so it's invalid. The man should be drawn and quartered by the press, but my guess is that you are hearing the last of Art's disgusting, facist comments right here.

Oh please. Do you think that running of half cocked and throwing the mayor in jail would've put a stop to everything?!

DO You?!?!

NO! It would have just been the start of things and the mayor would suddenly find himself elevated to the status of a political martyr! Not only him. But so would his cause.

Do you remember how the Texas state legislators were proudly labeled as "rebels" by the media when they flew the coup during the states redistricting plan?!

Are you all so naive as to think that such blunt action will solve this issue?! The only thing it would achieve is to escalate the issue.

Personally I think that the governor just needs to to have whatever state office that handles marriage registration declare the marriages null and void. Because from my understanding the City of SF took it upon themselves to alter state marriage certificates in order to allow gay couples to get married.

Most likely nothing.

You are right that Arnie needs to make sure that it is all thrown out. We'll see if he gets it done. True that a quiet voiding of this garbage would be best. But the mayor of SF needs to be charged with a crime.

If people stop believing in the system our Republic will crumble just like the Soviet Union.

Time to move on? You obviously haven't followed my posts, but thanks so much for being concerned. I ignore 99% of it. The hundredth "kneepads" will tend to grate, however, and it embarrasses me to see Free Republic appearing just as vicious as DU does.

Regards.

Your will shall be done. And let me know if you hear or read of any protests (from the conservative angle of course) in the Bay area - I seem to remember that you're from around there? I will drive down if something happens. I've had it with the inmates running the asylum.

'Looks like McClintock is the only elected official in Sacramento with a set of testicles.'

This sounds so familiar....wait let me think....oh, that's right, we weren't supposed to vote for him either. Even though he IS republican.

GAY RIGHTS UNDER AHHHNOLD

Oh, right. You wish. You're just as bad as the Democrats praying for our economy to tank. Sorry, but he didn't instigate this as much as you would have loved to see him do so.
