While most of the establishment media continue their relentless assault on President Bush's military service and keep ignoring rival Sen. John Kerry's mansion-size closet of skeletons, NBC News is finally reporting at least on Kerry's scandal of special interests.NewsMax today acquired a transcript of Monday's broadcast of "NBC Nightly News," which is creating a buzz among those who have seen it.
Reporter Lisa Myers, following up on charges brought by rival candidates John Edwards and Howard Dean, noted that "Kerry now brags about standing up to special interests, he actually has sat down with many of them, inviting a who's-who of special interests to his home for dinner."
"In the summer of 2002, Senate Democrats gathered their biggest corporate and union donors, including NBC's parent company General Electric, for a weekend on exclusive Nantucket Island. The big dinner, hosted by Senator Kerry here at his seaside estate. This list provided to NBC reveals that among those attending the dinner were representatives of five companies under SEC investigation at the time for accounting irregularities and misleading stock ratings," she reported.
Chuck Lewis of the nonpartisan Center for Public Integrity told Myers: "This is a candidate that has raised tens of millions from these people, and he had them over to his estate. You know, don't tell me you're against special interests. They are you."
Lewis noted: "This is a guy who has helped a number of people over the years who have given him money in very explicit, precise ways."
The Chinese Connection
An example offered by Myers: "In 1996, Kerry met with Democratic contributor Johnny Chung and Chinese businesswoman Liu Chaoying. That day, Kerry's office faxed a letter to the SEC, and Chung and Liu got a private briefing. Kerry then thanks Chung for being willing 'to help with my campaign,' and within weeks, Chung hosts a Kerry fund-raiser. Kerry initially denied he'd even met Chung before the fund-raiser, then called the timing of the SEC meeting and the fund-raiser 'totally coincidental.'"
NBC News producer Robert Windrem wrote for MSNBC today that Kerry "unwittingly" tried to help "Chinese espionage agent and arms dealer" Liu "in return for campaign contributions."
Liu had "high-ranking positions for two companies responsible for brokering one of the biggest and most controversial arms sales of the 1990s - a $300-million missile deal with Pakistan."
William Triplett, a former Senate Foreign Relations Committee staffer and author of two books on Chinese influence in U.S. politics, told Windrem: "She is a communist. She is a high-tech spy. She is an arms broker, and she met Bill Clinton at a fund raiser and John Kerry in his Senate office."
Chung brought Liu to America in July 1996 and introduced her to the corrupt ways of the Clinton administration.

Just a gigolo,
everywhere I go,
people know the part I'm playing.
Paid for every dance,
selling each romance,
every night some heart betraying.
There will come a day
and youth will pass away (not while I have Botox...)
What will they say about me?
When the end comes I know
they'll say just a gigolo.
Life goes on without me..
Gee, this Johnny Chung?
Johnny Chung with his beneficiary John Kerry
For balance, NBC folowed that report with one by David "Ratface" Gregory about All The President's Fund-Raising." But it's nothing we didn't know before. The Al-Qerry story WAS new information to the public's ears.
