***Ketchup Boy Only Served For FOUR MONTHS***
Stardate: 0402.17

We know the media shills for the democrats, but it's about time some one of the VERY FEW honest media get on this point and two others:
We want to know about those famous wounds that he takes credit for......(I'm not saying I would want them, but he is making big claims about his service) but we have a right to see the records.
All my friends had to spend 12 months in Nam....why did ketchup boy only serve 4 months and then come home and fight the war and call those poor guys without deferments baby killers and war criminals
I am telling you my friends, more is coming about what really happened in kerry's war experience, and it won't be a pretty thing to see.

I'm trying not question his service because I wasn't there and am not qualified to really say anything on boat when one is taking on enemy fire is a bit dangerous And in English this would make sense
Let's try again
I'm trying not question his service because I wasn't there and I'm not qualified to really say anything on the matter .. but is it wise to beach a boat when one is taking on enemy fire ..isn't that a bit dangerous? and aren't you making yourself a sitting target?

I don't think people are questioning his service - people are questioning his intentions.
The place where Kerry is vulnerable is :
1) his record
2) his words upon returning from Vietnam, where 2 of his boat crew have expressed reservations on Kerry's activites after leaving Vietnam.

I read in another thread that Kerry's Swift Boat duty was coastal interdiction, not Riverine. Anyone know for certain? I believe he started out doing coastal and then went to the river and yes that part was more danagerous

Close personal ties - please show some evidence of this. Start your search with "Tiger" Yang Jiechi starting in the '70s. Then search Bush and the infamous CP group. They don't care if it's a Rep or Dim in office, just that they can buy them off for favorable policy.

I think my point is obvious: Kerry did what he could to get a safer assignment.
Kerry's saying he chose the swift boat assignment because he thought it would be safer
BTW, do you know...
has any newsperson bothered to ask Kerry's former classmates in Long Beach if they remember him showing up for his training every day? |
His ship returned to its Long Beach, Calif., port on June 6, 1968. Five months later, Kerry went back to Vietnam, securing an assignment as "swift boat" skipper

If you say so, but that was before Bush had time to cancel what clinton had already started along with the other contracts Clinton made with the communists. That was last year. Started and finished under Bush's watch, and during the employment of his brother by the Chinese company for $400,000 a year. The company is run by Jiang Mianheng, son of former Chinese president Jiang Zemin.
I guess YOU don't care that Clinton also gave America's nuclear and guided missile secrets to the Chinese and North Koreans.
I care that Clinton did it, and I won't close my eyes to the evidence that Bush is following in the same track. You're letting your love for Bush blind you.

He should release all his records like Pres. Bush did, he wouldn't have anything to hide, would he? He made a big issue of his service...so, yes, he should release all his records...
I'd like to see the records of his training in Long Beach. I'd also like to ascertain that every on of his classmates remembers Kerry attended every class.

he hot dogged his craft beaching it in the center of the enemy position. This may be the only time in the war that the VC crossed the "T" on an American Warcraft. Of course the enemy position consisted of a lone, injured and unarmed VC which Kerry greased.
To: syriacus
PCF 94Thanks, that will help the search.

"...Start your search with "Tiger" Yang Jiechi starting in the '70s"
You must not have any evidence of close personal ties between Bush and the Chinese.
I googled the above and the only thing that has relevance is a commentary by Jim Mann of the Seattle Times...who makes the link but doesnt support it with evidence.

"You people need to lay off Kerry for serving on swift boats. In trying to denigrate him, you denigrate everyone else who did similar service and they (including Kerry) don't deserve it. Kerry served his country in combat. You can't (and shouldn't) try to take that away from him. Everyone can find plenty else to use against Kerry, y'all should leave his combat service out of it."
I agree wholeheartedly, and said so earlier, but the nitwits here don't know enough to leave losing issues alone. They want to attack their "enemies" in politics and can't accept the fact that many of their "enemies" are/were patriots and heros. Attacking blindly & with no facts to support the attack will only bring laughter from your foes and tears from your friends.
To: The Wizard
Kerry's VietNam stint is entirely questionable. It has been said and is quite likely that the whole thing was set up as a politcal investment by the prominent leftists of the day, i.e. the Kennedys, et al.
I am convinced it's charade, and he's given entirely too much credit (where likely none is due) when conservative radio talk-show-hosts try to be gracious by referring to him as a 'decorated hero who served his country with distinction,' or some such other blather. They're helping to perpetuate what may very likely prove to be a myth by doing so.

Amen!!
I hope Freepers mobilize in an unprecidented way. This guy must be exposed. The silent majority crap is over. These people need to be confronted. I hope Mr. Kerry comes to my area, I will confront him with his lies and hypocrisy.

And each of those comments has been backed up by specific quotes from either Kerry himself, or from members of the boats immediately around him.
Yes, I have read them.

I've yet to see any comments from any of his crew that he abandoned and left behind. Most real men form a bond with their unit and will not abandon them under any circumstance.

Nope.
I'm excluding those, obviously!
Your quote (on service in Vietnam) is specifically relevant: loosing 8 in "accidents" from the few that did serve is exactly what I mean.
6 members of Bush's ANG squadron were lost in training and flight accidents.
Accidents and crashes claimed 1/3 of those fighters flying out of Iceland during tis period.
And other squadrons were typical of that rate.
(Your false claim is not correct, since the fighters WERE "safe" over in Nam flying high-altitude escort service for B-52 at that time.
B-52 escort duty (over S. Vietnam routine bombing runs) wasn't subject to the rocket and AA fire that the cities had later. Bush's style fighter was high-altitude, long range bomber intercept - which wasn't needed in Vietnam. So it wasn't used there very long, nor in many missions. Of course it had few problems!
Now, when Kerry bugged out of Vietnam EARLY to go home, he had been specifically trained for a boat CO position, and he WAS NEEDED in that position. But Kerry left early!
Must of been a pretty lousy operator (or an effective whiner) for his boss to let him leave for a easy admiral's aid position after less 3 months duty. Right when they needed every man possible over there after the Tet offensive.
And he must have been a pretty lousy admiral's aide to leave that position early.

Besides PCF 44 and PCF 94, Kerry is listed as OinC on the PCF 66
Here.
