Tell ABC News's Major Advertisers They Will Be Boycotted For Supporting Biased News HERE!
Let the Boycott of the major advertisers of admitted biased network ABC begin! Herein you will find a list of. and contact info for, ABC's major advertisers!
As many of you are aware, CBS spiked the biased mini-series "The Reagans" when Americans threatened to boycott CBS advertisers (although pay-channel Showtime purchased it later). I believe that this tactic can be used to eliminate some of the media bias going into the the critical, life-or-death 2004 presidential election. Here is what I am proposing.
Our lives, essentially, depend on President Bush's re-election -- Kerry will turn the War on Terror into a dangerous PC farce. We can't take that risk. However, ABC News has admitted (see here) that it will be actively campaigning against Bush. Contrary to the general wisdom there is something we can do to remedy this. Keep in mind, the evening news is a business like any other business.
Please contact ABC's major advertisers (listed below) and tell them that companies that support biased news WILL BE BOYCOTTED, just as CBS's advertisers were boycotted for "The Reagans".

Just trust me -- if we can do this, the way we did with CBS, it will have a ripple effect.

I am totally with you on this idea of going after the biased media but I think it's mistaken timing and method. The media almost NEVER admits the obvious -- that they are biased. If we boycott because they admitted it we are encouraging the wrong thing: more denial.
Instead, we should punish the liars. After all, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. (We can dream.) Now is the time to go after NBC or CBS news. I would put CBS first because they have had reporters try to expose them (Bernard Goldberg) and they are still lying about it.
Actually, I think the best way to get the major networks is to bring down their ratings. Turn them off. No ratings, no advertisers.
With the biased press our goal is different. We must reduce their circulation.
I would love to see conservative groups join together and actually advertising against the biased media, asking people to cancel subscriptions and change channels. The general public is being lied by these jokers. We must somehow inform them ourselves.

This is incredibly stupid. ABC News was commenting on the news media in general, not on its own operations. But if ABC News admits there is a general culture of bias in the news media, that means it is aware of such danger and will be more likely than other organizations to correct it in its own reporting. The "admission" was an act of journalistic intergrity, not seen in other outlets such as CBS or the New York Times.
So what is ABC's reward for its honesty? BOYCOTT.
You're putting the 'tard in retarded with this one.
Incidentally, ABC's The Note is great. I read it regularly, and I've found no liberal bias therein.

"I deplore... the putrid state into which our newspapers have passed and the malignity, the vulgarity, and mendacious spirit of those who write for them... These ordures are rapidly depraving the public taste and lessening its relish for sound food. As vehicles of information and a curb on our funtionaries, they have rendered themselves useless by forfeiting all title to belief... This has, in a great degree, been produced by the violence and malignity of party spirit." --Thomas Jefferson to Walter Jones, 1814. ME 14:46
