[history]
"For the last several days I have seen Internet and tabloid rumors relating to me and Senator John Kerry. Because these stories were false, I assumed the media would ignore them. It seems that efforts to peddle these lies continue, so I feel compelled to address them. I have never had a relationship with Senator Kerry, and the rumors in the press are completely false. Whoever is spreading these rumors and allegations does not know me, but should know the pain they have caused me and my family. I am in Kenya with my fiance visiting his family, and we ask that the press respect our privacy and leave all of us alone."

You are probably right. I have an idea. When they start talking about this, just act like we never heard about it and ask what news network they heard that on.

And where did you hear that? Can you run down the source of it?

The entire episode reeks of Kerry lies and Lovie's payoffs.

Drudge has just this minute posted a new headline which may indicate the "friend" who outed Kerry and the intern had been dating Kerry's campaign manager and thus would be in a position to know all.
If so, and if she has given Drudge pictures or other hard evidence to back up the claim, then he (Drudge) has played this story very effectively and has patiently given Kerry all the time in the world to commit himself to more than just a lie but a coverup to boot.
Keep your fingers crossed - Kerry must now be in a sweat and asking himself; just how much does Drudge know?????
Bwahahahahahahha!

Well, that interview will never see the light of day. It'd be interesting if the cameraman sold a copy of the tape to The Enquirer, but of course, Lovie will buy everyone off.

I have not heard of an audiotape. I would believe there are videotape archives. His Congressional testimony is part of the public record.
Does anyone know of audio or video tape of his testimony?
Clips of Kerry's comments would make convincing arguments about what he really thinks of the United States and our military. I hope that appears in campaign commercials.
To: mewzilla
No mention of the taped interview I see. She says she's been in Kenya since October. That should be easy enough to verify. The taped interview supposedly happened over Christmas. Now, I'm sure there are TV studios in Kenya, but no such circumstance was mentioned in the narrative to this point. I and most people were envisioning ABC doing the interview in their studios in the US and her leaving the country later, presumably after getting a bad case of the Fear of God. Just now that story threatens not to work.

My, my, you must find it hard to sleep at night.
Do you do Shakespeare also? ;)
Really, lighten up. JR's a big boy. He can handle it.

This could very well be a bogus story. But something's bugging me. Look at today's relevation about Polier's statement of denial. Freepers read it first from our man in Kenya, propertius. The thread was quickly pulled, then proven to be a scoop, and eventually restored. Propertius also provided this tidbit on Saturday, hours before any other print source:
Just heard from a friend of Alex's that "this thing has a long way to run... it's much nastier than it sounds"...
IMHO, I don't think we've heard the last from Ms. Polier.

Why did it take so long to make a denial? A deal had to be struck and payment had to be made. This could have taken, oh, 2-3 days. With both sides denying the allegation and with other loose ends tied down (evidence destroyed, payoffs made, etc.) the legs will be effectively cut out from under the story. Looks like a successful cover up. If Drudge hadn't revealed the story, the coverup would have succeeded anyway and no one would know about it. Happens all the time.

Drudge ... "A woman at the center of John Kerry intrigue dated longtime Kerry fundraiser Peter Maroney, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT... KERRY MYSTERY WOMAN DATED CAMPAIGN FINANCE CHIEF" Heheheh, maybe the entire "story" is that the AP and the Keryy campain are NOT operating as independent organizations. The AP, which feeds virtually ALL of the stories published by the so-called "mainstream" media, is in fact PART OF the Kerry campaign. Oooooh. No wonder the media doesn't want to report itself! It'd be a Left-wing conspiracy!

and then they are going to be horrified to learn that she physically turned in to the Communists the American POW who tried to get her to pass an uncensored message back to the U.S. during her North Vietnam visit.
This the first I heard about this! This is appalling! This needs to be shouted from the rooftops! Anybody know what happened to the POW?

While you're in your usual condescending mode here on FR, please note there has been no denial of the sleazeball comment, nor a denial of any of the quotes in the article by the parents.
ROFL!
I presume "condescending" is your code for "thinking in a logical, unbiased manner" (doing so seems to annoy a great many FReepers, I've noticed.)
If the SUN had quoted Polier's parents saying they thought Kerry was great and they were going to vote for him, people on FR would have been tearing the Sun to shreds and pointing out it's a tabloid that also carries nudie pics.
For all we know the parents may not EVEN know about the "sleazeball" quote. It's a British tabloid. They probably don't read FR, may not have ever gone to Drudge's site, and don't have the Sun bookmarked.
And every PR guy will tell you that you don't spend all of your time specifically denying EVERYTHING said about you. It's like answering the "have you stopped beating your wife?" question. To specifically deny the specific Sun quotes, in and of itself, gives the Sun credibility.
To: Blood of Tyrants
Difference with Monica is that there was a special prosecutor and a legal case.
Unless there's a lawsuit from SOMEBODY, this whole story is deader than a doornail. Major media will NOT pursue it further without some legal proceedings related to it going on.
Doesn't look like Polier is going to sue Kerry, and I suspect the idea that Theresa would sue for divorce before the election is wishful thinking.
To: BlessedByLiberty
Perhaps the document itself could be shown in a commercial with a voice over reading the transcript?
