Indeed. Many on FR are so eager to find a scandal on Kerry that they will listen to anyone. Everything about this story has the ring of the tabloids and the blog world. Everything reported has been unsourced. This is a bogus story, and I said so when it first broke on Drudge.

It's going to embarrass those who broke it and repeated it, and it's going to embarrass FR, since searching for info on this story brings up FR links, and will continue to do so.

I don't know who initiated the story. I don't care. I do care if it casts negative impressions of this site, and that's sure to happen.

Kerry denies it. The woman denies it. That, my friends, is the end of it. The woman did not work for Kerry...she's a journalist. The investigation ends with those denials, since no law could have been broken, even if some affair had happened.

Surely there's some real issue that can be used to attack Kerry. This one's bogus.

The quote of the parents - We appreciate how Senator Kerry has handled this. If there was no truth to it, how else would he have handled it?? Sounds odd. Like they are just glad he didn't cast aspersions on their daughter.

That's what I want to know. I had heard that Alex Polier had written letters to this friend, evidently describing the affair.

When will this friend come forward and show these letters.

I have established, from reliable sources, that Matt Rosenberg, the author of this story, is based in Nairobi AND HAS BEEN A FRIEND OF ALEX POLIER FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

Not surprising as well, given that both of them have a connection as emplyees with the AP. Perhaps they had a working relationship.

You mentioned that Alex runs with a racy crowd, i.e., one that flouts certain laws. Perhaps, if there is a Alex Polier / John F. Kerry connection, it is not related to sex, but to other potentially scandalous conduct.

Anyway, at this point, I think the best tack by conservatives is to use the "development" of this story to illustrate the media's double standard; and to continue to point out that the Pollier/Kerry story originated with a Democrat.

I think you have this story mixed up thinking it came from Alex Polier. But I heard it was related to some actress who Kerry had tried to date and she was turned off by his pickup line.
