NC ALERT: Leftist "anti-war" rally in Fayetteville planned for March 20, 2004
NC Peace Hub ^

Posted on 02/14/2004 10:41:05 AM PST by tgslTakoma

It seems that the usual suspects (United for Peace and Justice, International ANSWER, National Lawyers Guild, International Socialists, Muslim American Society, etc.) have had some difficulty amassing the requisite number of sheep to do another "Mass March on Washington," so they are instead planning multiple smaller events across the country on March 20th.

Heads-up North Carolina FReepers - they are coming to Fayetteville, NC.

From NCPeaceHub's website, here is their announcement:

March 20th: THE WORLD STILL SAYS NO TO WAR
Fayetteville, North Carolina- 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Local: www.Ncpeacehub.org National: www.unitedforpeace.org

One year ago on February 15th, 2003, millions of people took to the streets to say no to the impending war on Iraq. On March 20th, 2004, the one year anniversary of the U.S. Invasion of Iraq, people from around North Carolina and the South will march and rally in Fayetteville to demand Real Support for the Troops: Money for Jobs and Education, not War and Occupation. Sponsored by Military Families Speak Out, Veterans for Peace, United for Peace and Justice and over 100 local peace & justice organizations, the March and rally on March 20th in Fayetteville is part of a global day of action to say: The World Still Says No to War. Organizers are seeking endorsements, donations, peacekeepers and other volunteers. Durham and Chapel Hill bus tickets are available from the Regulator Books, the Know Bookstore, and Internationalist Books. More information is available on the web at www.NCpeacehub.org.

Sounds like there is dissension in the ranks of the commie front groups.

Or maybe they just freaked out when they heard that DC is sending in FReepin' reinforcements to NC.

How funny!

cANSWER is beginning to crumble under FReeping pressure from DC and NC FReepers. United For Peace and Justice must have agreed with cANSWER leaders to fall on the sword by themselves in Fayetteville. cANSWER can't afford the humiliation of another dud of a "peace rally."

Don't ease up on your planning, though. Leslie Cagan and UFPJ are just as beholden to communist interests as cANSWER.

They knew you'd bring the MOAB outing Answer as Workers World Party and highlighting Brian Becker!

Sunday morning bump!

So far, I count 8 DC Chapter members committed to a Fayetteville road-trip FReep!

Looks like they hope to create a confrontation with reagners and paras in order to boost their publicity. we suggest that Freepers march in with them carrying signs that distract their message, such as "Eat at Joe's (or some other local eatery)" and, my favorite that I saw on a Tee-shirt in Cambridge with a beautiful portrait of a cat: {I love cats -- they taste just like chicken." What I think should be tried is a new tactic when hard core lefties have few numbers and are desparate to boost their stock through feee media: confuse and disrupt their puny message so that the idiots of the lamestream can't make heads or tails of it.

Yes, it's still ON! TaxRelief is busy working behind-the-scenes with other NC FReepers to get things organized and arranged - and I suspect an updated announcement thread will be posted as soon as they have all the specifics nailed down.

This will be a good FReep.

At this point, I think we should go ahead and start a new thread, with a meeting place like the radisson parking lot, even if we end up stationing someone there to redirect FReepers to the final setup location.

While that may be a style some folks would follow, I prefer to stay separate and apart from them.

They are an agry bunch - for peaceniks - and moving about within their ranks like you suggested is just asking for trouble, and bad press.

Our message is a good one, and if we disrupted their rally from within, and scuffled with them, the media would play it against us.

It's always better that we stay separate - better for the media and general public to compare and contrast our two sides. 'Least that's my opinion.

:-)

Sunday night bump! I just got word that two more DC Chapter members are looking into the road trip!

With NC FReepers, VA FReepers, SC FReepers and DC FReepers converging on Fayetteville on March 20th, this is going to be a day to remember!

P.S. When I was logged in on the member section of the AAA website I noticed that Fayetteville has its very own "Luigi's Italian Restaurant."

Keep me in the loop. I live here in Fayetteville and was one of the freepers in Raleigh and here in Fayetteville back last spring. I still have my signs.

You may be right, but I do recall once, many years ago, that a group I was part of used this tactic with a group of very, very serious, hardcore lefties and it caused them to be so confused that their protest degenerated into an incomprehensible and confused mess. However, after thinking about it, I believe that we can do far more damage to the lies about Vietnam in which Kerry was a leader, and which still prevail in academia and in newsrooms of the lamestream, and I see our movement as swelling so beneath the surface that the lamestream strives to create -- a delusion of a calm all-controlling lie -- that I think you are right and I withdraw the suggestion. I think we need to particularly push the books that penetrate the delusional lie, such as "Stolen Valor" and, as Admiral Moorer and I did in several articles, "A Better War," and move it to a level where every time the lie surfaces in references to the "Vietnam quagmire" and Kerry's supposed heroics as greater than his undermining of the war effort with lies, it is countered and the public attention focused on it. It seems to me we particularly need to focus on Abrams as the real hero of Vietnam, and Kerry the lying anti-warrior and the lamestream of the time as the betrayers. We don't have a Kerry and CBS tank, we have an Abrams tank.

Thanks for removing the reply #157. That person is a known anti-anything here in Fayetteville. The worst thing is that I might be related to the person. Shudder, shudder.

From what I read, they won't be anywhere near Ft. Bragg. They will actually be near the Quaker House which I think backs up to the park. They wouldn't get very far if they did try to march towards Ft. Bragg. It's so far that they would have to catch a bus or give up. All the gates are manned during the week and on the weekend some are closed.
