A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

"Love Is...."
Out of the Mouths of Babes

I received these sayings about what love means in my mail and thought it would make a sweet Valentine's Day thread. Kids say the cutest things and describe love in such an innocent, funny and truthful way that it always brings a smile to our faces.

"Love Is......"

TO THOSE OF US WITH KIDS, WITHOUT KIDS, WITH A LOVED ONE, OR NOT, WE CAN ALL RELATE...........
These are truisms that only kids can express. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."- Rebecca - age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth."
- Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." - Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." -Chrissy - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." - Danny - age 7
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss." -Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."- Bobby - age 5
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate."- Nikka - age 6
"There are two kinds of love. Our love. God's love. But God makes both kinds of them."- Jenny - age 4

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." -Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." -Tommy- age 6
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."- Cindy - age 8
"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."- Clare - Age 5
"Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken." -Elaine - age 5
"Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."- Chris - age 8
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."- Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."- Lauren - age 4
"I let my big sister pick on me because my Mom says she only picks on me because she loves me. So I pick on my baby sister because I love her." - Bethany - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you."- Karen - age 7
"Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."- Mark - age 6
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
- Jessica - age 5

Great looking pictures of the snow in your area. Looks like a Valentines Day that you and Ming won't forget for a long time!

It hasn't started snowing here yet but it's getting close.

Thanks for the scripture and coffee today, The Mayor. How did the church service go this morning? We're you able to read Zells speech?

Aw, thanks !

It was a little cold, but when it's purty like that, it makes it easier.

It's all melted off now. Not one spec of the white stuff in my yard now ...

Beautiful thread and great look at the simple innocence of kids.

I asked my two (separate from each other so no copying) what the word LOVE means to them. My little (4) *angel* said simply "It means you love people." The boy (6) stated "That you hug someone and give them lots of kisses." Fun exercise for all. :-)

I have to get permission from the leadership. They are meeting Tuesday night, I will know more then. All Churches are careful about the politics and mixing it. But our Pastor Dave Rogers speaks out about it all the time. As soon as I know for sure I will let you know.

I/we are so looking forward to seeing this movie, kinda scared though. I told my wife that we may need to go alone at first cause I don't want my kids to see me cry like a baby.

I just spent an hour or so at the website and listened to bits and pieces of the sound track and watched the trailers. I think it is going to be a very difficult movie to see, but one we all need to see.

For he was truly The Christ.
He who beleiveth in him shall have everlasting life.

Hope you get to read it....it is hard to mix politics and religions although we do that all the time around here (FR).

That picture makes me tear up. The crown of thorns was so cruel among all the other things they did to Christ. Can't wait to see the movie, will be sure to take a hankie.

Looking at the radar the snow may miss us, will probably get some flurries though.

I meant to say Ying on the last post, she's very pretty BTW.
