Out of the Mouths of Babes

I received these sayings about what love means in my mail and thought it would make a sweet Valentine's Day thread. Kids say the cutest things and describe love in such an innocent, funny and truthful way that it always brings a smile to our faces.

TO THOSE OF US WITH KIDS, WITHOUT KIDS, WITH A LOVED ONE, OR NOT, WE CAN ALL RELATE...........

These are truisms that only kids can express. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds "What does love mean?"

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."- Rebecca - age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth."

Dear Senator Miller,

I wanted to send my deepest thanks for the courage and fortitude that you displayed in your address to the Senate floor regarding the decline of societal and moral values. I am the first to admit that I am not a fan of the Democratic Party as a whole, but *you* as an individual are a statesman that is to be admired and proudly supported.

I appreciate the fact that someone of your stature has the guts to "tell it like it is." I wish more people would realize that the decay of the very moral fiber of our government and society is a bipartisan issue - it affects all of us and therefore crosses party lines - and that we need to be unified in our fight to take back the quality of life that each and every one of us deserves.

May God continue to bless you abundantly and thank you so much for stating what the silent majority believes in, but seems afraid to stand up and fight for.

Just read Zells speech and I give him a goose bumpy standing ovation for that speech! He even quoted from one of my favorite books 'Original Intent' by David Barton.

We need to keep sending that message to our elected officials to let them know that they will not be blindly supported. They need to *earn* our support for standing up and fighting for that in which we believe.

I just read the speech and it is incredible, I nominate Zell Miller as a Statesman there are to few left, Henry Hyde is another.
