I received these sayings about what love means in my mail and thought it would make a sweet Valentine's Day thread. Kids say the cutest things and describe love in such an innocent, funny and truthful way that it always brings a smile to our faces.

TO THOSE OF US WITH KIDS, WITHOUT KIDS, WITH A LOVED ONE, OR NOT, WE CAN ALL RELATE...........

These are truisms that only kids can express. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds "What does love mean?"

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."- Rebecca - age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth."

A wise man once wrote, "When love comes, fear goes."

I know so many Christians who are tormented by feelings of self-doubt, worthlessness, and sinfulness. They think they must do something to make God love them more. Yet the apostle John said that "as [Jesus] is, so are we in this world" (1 John 4:17). In other words, we share the same confidence that Jesus has in knowing that the Father loves us with perfect love.

Because Jesus accomplished our redemption on the cross, all judgment for sin is behind Him and us, and the sin question is forever settled. We now face no condemnation.

This removes fear. For as John wrote, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear" (v.18). The "fear" of which John spoke is fear of judgment. But we have nothing to fear, for "there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). Fear is driven out by God's "perfect love."

We're forgiven for all our sins, held fast by God's love, and destined to enjoy eternal fellowship with Him, not because of anything we have done but because He has done everything for us. "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us" (1 John 4:10). That's perfect love! —David Roper

Since I have been at Free Republic, I have been enjoying all the creative Gif's... I used to think just a regular smiley was cute.. now they punch each other, vomit, do cartwheels & like yours dance & kiss(my guess they are kissing when they come together?)

It is almost balmy here in NE Ohio.. after 20 below zero for so long, having weather in the thirtys is really nice in comparison. I feed birds & get mail/paper in just T-shirt / jeans...
