We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

Update 2:

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN

**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

MORE

A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!

In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]

The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Update 3

FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

Don't worry - this will be all over the place in no time. Americans across the fruited plain will once again be gagging over their dinners hearing about Kerry's ketchup stains.

"I can't wait to hear Kerry's response....admit, and ask forgiveness..or deny it shaking his finger and blaming Bush."

So it would be in bad form to start mailing chain saw brochures to Theresa Heinz until Kerry responds or should we just go ahead and do it?

For more reasons than one I hope this is wrong and untrue.
It even sounds like some trashing from within the Democrat Party for what I consider obvious reasons but I guess it will all come out in the wash.
I think this could be tied into the Hillary express!
The Democrat Party in my opinion is destroying my country and too many of us are not smart enough to see it.
Of course before its over they will hold hands and come together and find some way to blame Bush.
I wish that America would just look and see how they have divided the country and trashed our system but they wont. After this it will still be partisan politics as usual and they are doing something to our country that our enemies couldn't and that is destroying us.
It is a sad day indeed.

If this ends Kerry, looks like Edwards is it. He will be tougher to beat.

Edwards is more personable but his lack of foreign policy experience would be a major vulnerability in these times. And his total lack of military service largely takes W's NG issue off the table.

For these kind of jobs, don't people usually mail in their resumes?

Yeah, I haven't really figured the Hillary angle myself. They either want Edwards or Dean to run as sure losers (setting her stage for 2008) or they might sense that Bush is weak. If that's the case, they'll wait to see what kind of waves Edwards makes in the next couple weeks. If they think he's got some kinda shot- she might jump in to make the difference. If not, she'll let him go down in flames alone and run in 2008.

But I think the Clintons would've seen Kerry as a danger they couldn't control so they whacked him with this info.

If they're really behind it- he won't recover. If necessary, the media will be prodded into digging. If they won't- expect more leaks to Drudge.

Again, Clinton isn't stupid. He probably hates Drudge but he would also realize his usefulness (from experience LOL). It would be sweet to beat your rivals with the thing that stained your own campaign.

I did something harsher: "WHY AREN'T YOU COWARDS REPORTING THE STORY ON DRUDGE ABOUT KERRY'S INTERN PROBLEM"

I put that in the subject line because they usually don't read anything beyond that...

I'd also like to just put into this thread that this proves what I've always said about the news media: They'll usually side with the RATS, but all bets are off when it comes to presidential campaigns. They all want fame and Pulitzers and "to change history" more than they want a given guy to win. If they come across information that can bring down a presidential candidate, they'll run with it every time, no matter what party the candidate belongs to.

"Clinton people work for Edwards -- and you can bet some of those Clark people are working for Edwards today."

On the face of it, Edwards--and Dean--would be the primary beneficiaries of a Kerry implosion. I agree that the HildaBeast is the darkhorse candidate to benefit, though. Does she believe Dubyuh looks weak enuff to beat this November?

Anybody willing to take bets on how long before Cruella DeVil announces that she's in?

If she's "in," she's in for a brokered convention. No way she'd survive a primary battle, even now.
