We’re going to need a thread II as this one is starting to slow the site down. Also, on the new thread, please stop posting the name and pictures of the person you think the woman may be. The evidence doesn’t support the claim and we don’t need to be doing that. Wait for it to come out. It will. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076893/posts

CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS -Drudge Alert (Thread II)

Update 2:
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
Update 3 FROM CONRESSIONAL QUARTERLY'S CRAIG CRAWFORD: 'Drudge item on Kerry intern issue is something Chris Lehane (clark press secy) has shopped around for a long time -- it was one reason the Gore vetters in 2000 shied away from Kerry as a running mate choice -- their conclusion that it wasn't bad enough to disqualify him, except for the fact that they couldn't risk it as they were trying so hard to distance themselves from Clinton's personal failings (note: Lehane worked for Gore at the time -- and briefly advised Kerry during this campaign). The Kerry camp has long expected to deal with this, and have assured party leaders they can handle it'...

DU'ers are so stupid - they actually think that Karl Rove is the equivalent to the X-Files' Cigarette Man. Stupid.

"Clinton gets with Dean." Weird enuff...Dean would have to agree to retain McAuliffe, thereby preserving Clinton's hold over the Party.
"Dean is not opposed to it because it will only help him. But Dean can't break the story because this would be ugly. He agrees to buttress the story if someone else breaks it. You see- Dean decided to stay in the race. He KNEW this was coming."
I'm with you so far, and agree that this makes sense.
"He knew he should stick it out even if he lost his promised state. So, Clark makes a remark in front of reporters. That's the story actually broken but the reporters are edgy. Kerry is their guy and they don't know what to do. So someone in Clark's campaign gets with Drudge- feeds him the story and suggests he contact Dean's camp and perhaps a couple reporters who heard the remark. He does- verifies it- runs with it."
Sounds Clinton-esque alright.
"Rush picks it up. (note the time it was broken? Right before Rush's show) Rest is history."
ElRushbo's playing it up just like yer saying...I applaud yer insightful take.
"Dean runs against Edwards, Edwards wins, picks Hillary as running mate? Who knows?"
Indeed, who knows...but I like yer take.
FReegards...MUD
BTW...I still think the HildaBeast as Veep candidate is a very long shot. She's gonna want to satay as far away from this impending train wreck as possible, imho.

Didn't Estrich recently talk on Fox News about Kerry cheating on his wife. I didn't see it but I seem to remember reading through a thread on it.
To: Peach
Thought #2: The evil Chris Lehane USED to work for Kerry, and jumped to Clark's campaign. Clark's the one that dropped that little hint to reporters about Kerry's "intern problem" just before withdrawing. Lehane knows Kerry's dirt, and has TWO reasons to be pissed off now: For whatever Kerry did to make Lehane leave in the first place, and for Kerry's wins forcing Clark out of the race.

I would not be so sure if this benefits Hillary! As a nominee, whenever she speaks everyone is going to be reminded Bubba and how he had his own eruptions.

My better-half just called and said, I told you that Hillary would get rid of Kerry before this was over, she didn't shoot him with a gun, but she shot him somewhere else (with Bill Clinton's own weapon). ROFLOL!

To: Beck_isright
I just e-mailed CNN:
The story being worked on by ABC news, the Washington Post and Time magazine broke over an hour ago on Drudge, Rush, Neal Boortz and you are STILL reporting the non-story about President Bush being AWOL?
You are in danger of becoming like the UN - irrelevant and an out-to-lunch debating society.

And .. reading the list of media .. I find it interesting that they appear to be FOB people. Which tells me they were holding this info for a reason .. if Kerry gets too popular, the Clintons could pull the plug.

Hillary will go on 60 minutes blaming the right wing conspiracy for the Kerry scandal.
To: Beck_isright
In this instance it is good for FoxNews to stay out of it until it's been reported in other mainstream places. The reasons should be obvious...
To: Beck_isright
To be fair and balanced, tv must be sure of their facts before they report this story on the air. Fox has been burned one too many times on jumping the gun on a story that later didn't pan out.
This story has legs. Thanks to Drudge, facts will get out. It will then be played to death by Fox News.
