[history]
'Bush and I were lieutenants'
George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

Would that Mr. Kerry encourage his children and the children of his colleague senators and congressmen to serve now in the Guard?
THIS should be the question to KERRY everytime a conservative has a shot at him!

A great read. Seems the Commander-In-Chief has his own "band of brothers."

IMO, Kerry's post vietnam activities brings great shame to me as a current member of the navy. After serving my first 5 yrs under the Clinton admin, GWB has been a breath of fresh air for all of us who serve now.

"The media and dem party are embraced in a death lock. Whatever pretensions people had about the so called media bias should be dispelled after watching the press conference yesterday. Ever since 9/11 the media and dems have both tried to downplay the importance of national security."
Concisely stated, afropick!

I'm new at this. Those of you that can spread the word to ALL the NEWS agencies, GET GOING!

One unintended (for the Dummies) consequence of this story is that every time it is discussed on TV or by an internet news outlet, a photo of a really attractive young pilot. during the same time Kerry was in his hippie mode, is also shown.

Notice that David Thorne (Kerry's former brother-in-law) edited the book and is now helping run his campaign. The co-editor is George Butler. During the anti-war demos in Washington "Kerry spent some of his time at the Georgetown townhouse of his longtime friend George Butler, working the phones, trying to round up veterans. But the real problem was money. Kerry, who was not financially independent despite rumors to the contrary, was supposed to raise money to pay for buses that would transport the veterans." Butler is now a documentary film maker.
Thre GOP operations research folks should delve into the activities of Thorne and Butler as well. Birds of a feather flock together.

"...if the Repubs lay off picking on Kerry about his voting record, the Dems will lay off the NG issue." ROFL...shouldn't Kerry be PROUD of his voting record?! Why would he want the voting public to remain ignorant of it?

every demand they make.
I highlightd the operative word there for ya.
Like you, the democrats move the goal posts after a response from the WH.
They have more important matters to attend to than responding to
Terry Mac's and RichardW's every charge.

As an addendum, I also saw that his boss at Talon News, Bobby Eberle, also signed up, so we can ping him as well.

If it weren't a big deal why is everyone here so apopletic.I am enraged that the media (the dems are par for the course) dropped all pretense, and decided to attack (yes, attack) a good and decent man who served years ago in the Air National Guard, received an honorable discharge, and provided documents over the years regarding that service, and they are treating him like a criminal.
When we observe the media ignore issues surrounding a democrat that ought to receive this type of scrutiny, it is infuriating.
Do not confuse that with saying President Bush should not be asked about his service. The point is he's been asked....and asked....and asked...and asked. Also has provided documents. They are seeking to trump something up against him, plain and simple.
To: windchime
Also we need to remember what GWB said sunday, war against the terrorists is always the first thing that is on his mind. Better to have that than someone thinking about who going to service him under the desk.

Finally, the truth comes out! I served 26 years on a combat aircrew. 21 of those years were in the Reserves. The terms, conditions and responsibilities were just as the Colonel describes. The Kerry, DNC radical liberal gang is lying like a dog when they distort Lt Bush's record. Lt Bush, the Colonel, me and the entire United States Guard/Reserve are slandered by the garbage spewing from Kerry's gang. It is so slanderous that someone, some party and/or some media should be held liable. I would be curious if there is any legal grounds for us to sue their ears off.

I heard some exit poll numbers last night and quite a number of folks in Virginia citing someone who could be GW as a prime reason they voted for Kerry, if I heard the report correct.Well, it was a Dem primary. Not only that, but Dems inclined to vote for Dubya probably didn't bother voting yesterday. Concerning public hatred for Dubya vs. the Impeached Rapist, there's no difference except the media highlights the former and minimized the latter.
