Sean Penn: I Am More Of A Patriot Than Bush
MSNBC ^ | 2/9/04

Posted on 02/09/2004 8:57:43 AM PST by 11th Earl of Mar

The “Mystic River” star was in South America, promoting the flick, when he was asked about the heat he’s been taking for speaking out against the increasingly unpopular war in Iraq.

When Penn was asked if he considered himself to be a patriot, he replied, according to our source and translator, “I am more patriotic than this president we have, who I consider a traitor of human and American principles.”

Sorry, but Penn is a piece of hate-America filth. Patriotism is not publicly trashing the country and spewing hate and anger about the best country on earth.

"The Snowman and the Falcon"?

Actually it is "The Falcon and the Snowman"

Penn's character was the snowman because he was a drug dealer. Sean Penn is a good actor; I wish clowns like him would stick to acting. Another case in point: I think Jack Black is pretty funny especially the Tenacious D stuff, heard he was part of the MoveOn crap. Changed my opinion to some degree. Actors have so much to lose I can't figure out why they do stuff like that.

"...Associated Press quote from Penn:"

""I don’t know if people value the thought of revolution anymore. I think it would be an enormously patriotic movement to invest in the possibility of revolution.... There’s a lot of stuff going on around the world and in the U.S., as well, like the protests in Genoa and Seattle, and young people are putting themselves on the line.""

"Penn’s radicalism and call for revolution are intergenerational. His father, the late Leo Penn, was blacklisted in the 1950’s for supporting the Hollywood Ten."

Basically, Sean Penn is famous because he played a high school student who had a pizza delivered to class.

Which, in his mind, makes him a better Constitutional scholar, diplomat, military leader and visionary than the President.

"Like, yeah, dude."

Real patriots never say "I'm more a patriot than so and so!"
Ahhh! You ruined it for me. I'm not supposed to say, "I'm more of a patriot than Sean Penn"?

Take your sun tan lotion, your mosquito repellant and a portable air conditioner. Watch out for gators and other predators and you'll love it there. It was my favorite, "be-sure-to-avoid-this place" in all of Latin America, but don't let my predudices influence you.
