SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.
The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

I think it would be nice to go back to sharing info, analysis, and speculation about the terrorist threat facing us -- in a cordial, "brainstorming" type atmosphere.
Here is a definition of brainstorming:
"Brainstorming:
Key points:
Brainstorming is a way of generating radical ideas. During the brainstorming process there is no criticism of ideas, as free rein is given to people's creativity. Criticism and judgment cramp creativity.
Group Brainstorming
Group brainstorming can be very effective as it uses the experience and creativity of all members of the group. When individual members reach their limit on an idea, another member's creativity and experience can take the idea to the next stage. Therefore, group brainstorming tends to develop ideas in more depth than individual brainstorming."
Again, that doesn't mean that there isn't an assessment of ideas, and we seem to have managed fine for several months. The thread started on November 3rd and for some 2 and a half months it has been a great source of info sharing, theories, some more realistic, some more far fetched, but the atmosphere was that of collaboration and sharing.
I don't know if we can go back to that, but it surely would be nice, if people would curtail accusations and accusatory questions.

His true name is Rove CARVILLE
"The White House diligently avoided using the 'A' word in its announcement," Stein said. "But no matter how much Karl Rove wishes to torture the English language, a program that rewards millions upon millions of people who have cheated to get into this country, who have cheated by working off-the-books and avoided paying taxes, and who have cheated by using billions of dollars in public services ... is still an amnesty."

ok first, the problem is you have a machine translation there.
The words that it is translating as "By Kindergarten Pearls" are "Badr Riyadh". Many words in Arabic that are used for proper names also have other meanings in the language. Kind of like Philadelphia means "Brotherly Love". The software cannot distinguish the usage context so you end up with basically gobbledygook.
Badr is a name of an ancient battle from early Islamic history that Al Qaeda has attached to the November Riyadh attacks. Hence, Badr Riyadh is a reference to that attack, not to anything to do with a kindergarten :)
March doesn't refer to the month; to refers to a march into battle; the full moon it refers to is the lunar conditions on the night of the attack.
Now with this said I need to make sure I'm clear. It is certainly not unheard of for Al Qaeda to choose their words carefully; words can have multiple meanings.
I would not at all be surprised to see further attacks in the coming days as a result of orders given in the Badr Riyadh videos. I do believe their are operational orders and activation orders embedded in that video.
Just my opinion of course :)

Not to worry - that's the result of a machine translation. See my posting for more details.

National security is tied in with immigration - some of the terrorists are here on expired visas and have disappeared into our midst. It's the whole picture, not just part.

Yes, WCG- I was wondering about that full moon, too, in terms of possible "timing." (I wish I could believe these threats are all just bluster.)

You may want to ask these people for a translation. (See above)

did you see post 692? There's a site with a deck of playing cards with Bush, Rummy and others with arabic writing at the end? Could you possibly translate it too? Please, please, please!

If you do a google search for:
kindergartens pearls
You will find Palestine schools on page2, Hamas and Palestine schools on page 3.
also found:
http://www.islamic-paths.org/home/discover/poems/content/inspiraion/connecting.htm
The last paragraph of the poem:
"Let us abandon those playgrounds of Kindergartens to get to fields of creation, joy and good feelings through self expression and gentle subtle sharing finding and being what we where longing since ever"
My old computer refused to 'visit' the rest of the site, so I don't know what else is there.
Another strange rant, that could be considered as anti-American is at:
"Living in Bomb land"
http://www.rewired.com/99/0409.html
I search Google on a basic - words only style, not the advanced style, and get different results, than the fancy searches will bring.

An interesting article on the status of world wide terror groups.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1073613/posts Regional Terror Groups Seen as Growing Threat
"JAKARTA, Indonesia, Feb. 7 The landscape of the terrorist threat has shifted, many intelligence officials around the world say, with more than a dozen regional militant Islamic groups showing signs of growing strength and broader ambitions, even as the operational power of Al Qaeda appears diminished.
Some of the militant groups, with roots from Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Caucasus to North Africa and Europe, are believed to be loosely affiliated with Al Qaeda, the officials say. But other groups follow their own agenda, merely drawing inspiration from Osama bin Laden's periodic taped messages calling for attacks against the United States and its allies, the officials say. "
And we have to keep stomping them out.

I share your opinion. March must be a verb, given the context. As an aside, I've scanned some of the jihad forums and don't see any accounts of disappointment for plans being foiled. In fact, on the few where a poster was baiting the writer of various threats, the response was unusually serene.
