SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The theory is that gas attacks cumulate in pockets of low lying ground, and if you are in a trench or groud depression you can get out and to safety in the open air.

I dont want to test that theory, however..LOL

I am willing to host it on my server and administrate it. Would you be willing to put in a little extra time to post your important work there? I could see this working as a powerful knowledge base if enough people participated. I don't want to set it up if it's not going to get much use, so please let me know if this sounds like something you might want to participate in.

I think this is a great idea and we could all do our little cubbyhole of the world on it. Cal, Cindy, SP2, Tex, so many have works here that would be great if they were compiled! And t hat your willing to do the techie/hosting etc. how could we refuse IMO?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Two earthquakes struck a remote region of northern Pakistan on Saturday, toppling walls and setting off landslides that killed at least 12 people and injured 30 others. Some 150 homes were damaged

The temblors, measuring 5.7 and 5.5, were about 90 minutes apart with the first striking at 3:30 p.m. They were centered 125 miles northeast of Peshawar in the Hindu Kush mountains, which straddle the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, and were felt 90 miles away in the capital, Islamabad.

Libyan Arms Papers Are Linked to China:Nuclear Secrets Passed Through Pakistan

Libyan Arms Papers Are Linked to China
Nuclear Secrets Passed Through Pakistan

Investigators have identified China as the origin of nuclear weapons designs found in Libya last year, exposing yet another link in a chain of proliferation that passed nuclear secrets through Pakistan to other countries in Asia and the Middle East, according to government officials and arms experts.

The bomb designs and other papers turned over by Libya have yielded dramatic evidence of China's long-suspected role in transferring nuclear know-how to Pakistan in the early 1980s, they said. The designs were later resold to Libya by a Pakistani-led trading network through a nuclear trading network that is now the focus of an expanding international probe, added the officials and experts, who are based in the United States and Europe.

Bridgeview {{Chicago}} man can take Fifth in terror suit
February 14, 2004

BY CHRIS HACK

A federal magistrate has ruled that a Bridgeview man can't be forced to answer questions in a lawsuit that accuses him and others of supporting terrorism.

Mohammed Salah will be allowed to assert his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination to avoid answering questions in a lawsuit brought by the parents of a teen killed in a 1996 West Bank terrorist attack, U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin Ashman ruled.

Salah declined to comment about the ruling.

DEA raids cocaine shippers, 10 seized

February 13, 2004

BY DAVE NEWBART Staff Reporter

Federal agents busted a major drug operation that moved hundreds of pounds of cocaine each month into Chicago, authorities said Thursday.

Ten men -- including six from the Chicago area -- were charged this week for working in the operation, which brought drugs from Texas to Chicago. The arrests followed a bust at a South Side trucking company where more than 660 pounds of cocaine was seized this week.

When cut and sold on the streets, the drugs found this week were valued at more than $92 million, said special agent Richard Sanders, head of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Chicago office.

Drawings show Iranian nuclear plans

February 13, 2004

BY GEORGE JAHN

VIENNA, Austria -- U.N. inspectors sifting through Iran's nuclear files have discovered drawings of high-tech equipment that can be used to make weapons-grade uranium -- a new link to the black market headed by the father of Pakistan's atomic bomb, diplomats said Thursday.

Beyond adding another piece to the puzzle of who provided what in the clandestine supply chain headed by Abdul Qadeer Khan, the revelations cast fresh doubt on Iran's commitment to dispelling suspicions it is trying to make atomic arms.

The diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the designs were of a P-2 centrifuge -- more advanced than the P-1 model Iran has acknowledged using to enrich uranium for what is says are peaceful purposes. They said preliminary investigations by inspectors working for the International Atomic Energy Agency indicated they matched drawings of equipment found in Libya and supplied by Khan's network.

February 13, 2004
