SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.
The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Wow, just had a low fly-over of an F-15 (possibly, too cloudy to see it) here in Oregon City.
Four F-15A Eagles from Portland's 123rd Fighter Squadron "Redhawks" fly over the volcanic crater of Mount St. Helens...

I followed EOM for MONTHS.
He/she is total BS, IMHO.
"Jihad by the keyboard". And that's IT.
(I could elaborate with a lot of documentation and proof points, but it is just not worth the effort/time).

Yeah, I'm convinced EOM is BS. If we were to believe him/her, we would have been destroyed 10 times already. I'm only wondering about Daleel nowadays. He seems to have changed as milkncookies said. I remember reading a couple posts from him back when he started his little Yahoo group and he sounded along the lines of TraVeller2022, but since he's gotten so much recognition and as a result, a wider audience, he felt he could post the crap he does now. I don't remember any of his first posts though, so that's why I'm still unsure if Daleel is just a propaganda machine or not.

http://www.rediff.com/news/2004/feb/13shyam.htm Nine Pak nuclear scientists abandon jobs
Shyam Bhatia in London | February 13, 2004 15:21 IST
Last Updated: February 13, 2004 15:55 IST
Nine nuclear scientists have abandoned their jobs in Pakistan and secretly taken up jobs in foreign countries where the pay and working conditions are better, Pakistani exiles have told rediff.com
The scientists are all engineers who were previously employed at the Chashma nuclear power plant built with Chinese help in central Pakistan.
Their exodus represents the frustration experienced by the nuclear community as a whole that has come to a head following revelations about the emperor-like lifestyle of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan's nuclear bomb.
Khan's luxury lifestyle included 24-hour access to a Pakistan Air Force transport aircraft, as well as extensive real estate holdings in Pakistan and London. A hotel in Timbuktu was also purchased in his wife's name.
At one point he was so awash with funds that he was able to purchase a US$400,000 Teflon tent and fly it over for his daughter's wedding reception.
Unlike Khan the Chinese-trained nuclear engineers at Chashma are required to work a 77-hour week and earn less than Rs 20,000 per month at a non-family station. Many are denied routine access to a telephone because they fall into a category that is rated below Grade 20.
The frustrations of the Chashma engineers are symptomatic of much wider dissatisfaction within the Pakistani nuclear work force, including those employed within the top secret uranium enrichment facilities in Kahuta and elsewhere.
Some of these underpaid and overworked members of the nuclear fraternity have assisted in the process of leaking details of Khan's lifestyle, which they believe is inappropriate for a developing country.
The complaints of the nuclear experts are now being looked at afresh by the Pakistani government, which is concerned that many more could leave for better paid jobs in foreign countries. Others could be vulnerable to offers of employment from terrorist groups like the Al Qaeda.
Meanwhile Pakistan has confirmed the continued detention of six nuclear scientists and officials blamed for leaking sensitive items including secret codes to foreign governments.
They have been identified as Mohammad Farooq, Nazir Ahmed and Naseemuddin, as well as retired military officers Islam ul-Haq, Sajawal Khan Malik and Iqbal Tajwar.
A statement by the Pakistan Interior Ministry says the six men employed by the Khan Research Laboratories run by have 'been engaged in nuclear proliferation' for many years.
The full statement accused the scientists of 'directly or indirectly passing onto foreign countries and individuals secret codes, nuclear materials, substances, machinery, equipment, components, information, documents, sketches, plans, models, articles and notes etc'.
It added their activities had 'seriously prejudiced the defence, external affairs and security of Pakistan'.
The ministry's statement follows petitions filed by the families of the six calling for their immediate release. Relatives say their treatment contrasts sharply with the care lavished on Khan who last week admitted his role in black market operations and asked for forgiveness.
President Pervez Musharraf also subsequently agreed to pardon him.

Our local news indicated Anderson asked someone in the military about finding someone else already in Iraq. Kind of makes you cringe when you think about his possible motives for that. What about the American Taliban who is protected from the harm he and this new one (plus any others we have yet to discover) seek to create for others.

Another interesting story with a FL connection...
http://www.local10.com/news/2843860/detail.html FBI Checking To See If Fraud Money Went To Terrorists
Flight Attendant Accused Of Credit Card Fraud, Possible Terrorism Ties
POSTED: 5:15 PM EST February 12, 2004
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- A Hollywood flight attendant charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud says she's innocent -- but the FBI says it wants to know if the money they think she scammed went to help terrorists.
Maha Elsaai, who is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Egypt, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to committing thousands of dollars worth of credit card fraud.
Last month, FBI agents arrested Elsaai, who was a flight attendant for Planet Air Charters, at her Hollywood home.
Agents went through her trash, collecting evidence that they say links Elsaai to $200,000 in credit card fraud.
Her brother says he does not believe his sister did anything wrong.
"I don't think she did all this because where is the money? That is the question," said Ashrraf Elsaai.
The FBI, too, wants to know where the money is.
According to the indictment, agents started investigating Elsaai after a witness in another case told them Elsaai had made statements implying the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks were justified.
When agents checked further into her background, agents said they found Elsaai's name in FBI files just one month after the attacks, when according to the indictment, "Elsaai had numerous credit cards and held views that were hostile to the United States."
Her brother, though, says that just can't be true.
"My sister, she's been here 16 or 17 years. She loves America," Ashrraf Elsaai said. "She's been working in the airline business for 10 years."
A source close to the investigation told Local 10 that agents want to know if any of the money involved in the credit card fraud was used to help fund the 9/11 hijackers, many of whom also lived for a time in Hollywood.
Ashrraf Elsaai said his sister was in Washington shortly after the attacks and was horrified by what happened.
"She called me on the phone. She told me, 'These guys are animals,'" he said. "'They did something bad really' -- that was her comment."
The FBI is refusing to answer any questions about the case. Maha Elsaai continues to be held without bond.
