SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A purported statement by al-Qaida in Yemen warned Saturday of a "major strike" soon in the United States.

The statement, distributed by the Yemeni Tagamoo Party for Reforms, said: "A major strike, a big event will take place in America soon," reminiscent of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Alliance on the rocks: Saudis rejecting U.S. in favor of China

The Saudi Oil Ministry left the United States out of the recent round of lucrative multi-billion dollar energy deals. The winners were companies from China, the European Union and Russia. But it is China that represents the most ambitious aspect of the new Saudi policy.

CIA claims credit for identifying the A.Q. Khan network

CIA Director George Tenet disclosed last week that the agency was involved in exposing the private network of nuclear suppliers headed by Pakistani scientist A.Q. Khan.
The procurement network that Khan headed had been known for at least two years and the clandestine supply of nuclear technology and equipment amounted to "nuclear profiteering," Tenet stated.

I noticed that most media are not showing the picture of him holding up a rifle grinning like a madman. He looks pretty creepy in that picture to me. Not like the image of the "guy next door".

Maybe their freedom to operate has been drastically limited by their confinement at GITMO or their current medical problems such as lead poisoning compliments of our military. I believe our intelligence and law enforcement may have gotten in the way of their plans and they may be having to restart from scratch.

And of course, that's assuming that Daleel knows anything to start with. He's sure gotten lots of attention. I stand by my statement that I do not believe Daleel has any "inside" info, but is getting his information from message boards and just posting them in English.

Interesting FR thread here:

Top US official pays secret visit?(Media converging in Pakistan)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1077316/posts

These sources also claimed that 'something important' was likely to happen shortly because the international media - teams of NBC, CBS, CNN and BBC - had started converging in Islamabad.

NO I THINK EVERYONE OUGHT TO HAVE ACCESS as my many posts on the subject have said. The scientist's plan should be implemented "at the very least," Bush's is inadequte...and I personally think anyone who wants one should be able to have it.

I guess his new handle will be "Incarcerated", or perhaps "Court Marshelled" or maybe even "to be hung as a traitor"
