Help Get The Word Out: CLINTON Caused the Recession that Cost America 3M Jobs! (click here)

Blame Clinton!

If you're like me, then you're sick and tired of Kerry and his Democrat cohorts lying out of their pie-holes, blaming President Bush for a recession (and the consequential job losses) that CLINTON caused.  The polls that show Kerry ahead cite the reason as "Bush cost us too many jobs."  So, we can reverse that perception by merely getting the truth out -- and impeaching the Democrats' credibility in the process.

The death-drop of the stock market did not begin with the Bush administration in January 2001, says the congressional Joint Economic Committee (JEC), but in March 2000 under the Clinton administration when it began its all-out attack on the entrepreneurs of the booming U.S. high-tech industry. Indeed, The Economist reports that this poisoning of the economic stream even may have begun in the late 1990s. According to JEC Chairman Rep. Jim Saxton, "The 2000 NASDAQ collapse also corroborates a variety of other data indicating that a sharp economic slowdown was under way by the middle of 2000."

The JEC also found that job losses began under Clinton as well:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1071825/posts

Virtually all of the net payroll job loss in recent years is accounted for by the manufacturing sector, and this decline in factory jobs began before the current Administration took office, Vice Chairman Jim Saxton said today. Opponents of the Administration have repeatedly claimed that its policies have caused the decline in manufacturing employment, but fail to explain how this trend began long before any changes in policy took place. The facts show that manufacturing employment reached a cyclical peak in 1998, trending downward thereafter. Consecutive monthly declines in manufacturing employment began in 2000. Moreover, manufacturing employment has been trending downward over a much longer period.

Despite the facts, Kerry and the Democrats continue to lie to the public -- and the media dutifully repeats their lies.  Well, in the age of the internet, this will not stand!

Here is what YOU can do to get the word out:

 1)  Write A letter to the editor

Open the "Write for W" window by clicking HERE.

Write a letter to your editor denouncing Kerry and the Democrats for lying to the American people, blaming Bush for Clinton's sins and failures.  For some more ideas, click here.  Otherwise, here is a sample letter that you can use, edit, etc.

John Kerry and the Democrats have lied to the American people for too long.  It has now been firmly established that the economic recession, and job loss, began while Bill Clinton was still in office -- but despite the facts, Kerry and the Democrats lie and blame Bush.  This is outrageous.

On December 10, 2003, the congressional Joint Economic Committee released its official study showing that the recession began in the third quarter of 2000.  Bill Clinton was still in office.

On January of 2004, the congressional Joint Economic Committee released it official study showing that the job loss that Democrats would like to pin on Bush began in July of 2000.  Bill Clinton was still in office.

The fact is, the recession and job loss began on Bill Clinton's watch.  President Bush inherited an economy that Bill Clinton destroyed.  It is grossly disingenuous -- a flat-out lie -- for Kerry and the Democrats to blame Bush.

Make sure to put your ZIP CODE in the box at the top; then go ahead and SEND your letter!

Also, email the above sample to Brit Hume (he likes to get to the bottom of these things).  Email Brit at:

Special@foxnews.com

2)  Contact the RNC  NRSC and Talk Radio and demand that they get the word out.

Email the RNC this story (or call or write them) and tell them to get this important fact out!

Call Hannity at 1-800-941-7326

4)  Email O'Reilly the above story - he's wishy/washy these days, but he still likes to run stories like this about LIES.

Send the following (or your own letter) to oreilly@foxnews.com

Thank you!

This is all great information, but the fact remains that unless the economic recovery continues and job creation picks up Bush will still be held responsible on election day.

Even if the Bush haters admitted that economic downturn began under Clinton, they would be even MORE happy knowing Bush got screwed.

I am a little confused by the statements of lost jobs. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there was 135,999,000 people employed in Jan., 2001 (link) and 138,566,000 people employed in Jan., 2004 (link).

Looks like more people working to me. What am I missing?

Ping.

Not exactly news--mfg. has been going down ever since Clinton and Newtie Gingrich decided that WTO/NAFTA were just dandy.

Odd that nobody seems to mention Gingrich on this thread--only Bill, Mr. Treason and Treachery.

Newt just can't get ANY credit these days.

You are right that Greenspan had a part in it. But what you forget is that Greenspan had a great deal of power to deal with it--mostly in his ability to regulate margin accounts.

Greenspan did not lift a FINGER to change margin requirements--thus, speculation continued until the bust in dotcoms finally hit.

NOTHING Clinton did in India can compare to Clinton's unalloyed obsequious butt-kissing of the Red Chinese.

It was a fair trade: they paid for both his election campaigns, going all the way back to providing a large loan through their Arkansas-based bank connections (Stephens, partially owned by a Malaysian/Chinese money man.)

THAT loan, back in the 1991 (?) timeframe, allowed Clinton to continue his campaign and eventually to win the Dim nomination.

Ever since then it was payback-time. National security, WTO, all of it, went in favor of the Red Chinese.

I thought it was Clinton who signed MFN/China--but it may have been Carter (!)--

Most of the fight is over WHERE these folks are working. Lotsa jobs added in Gummint and education, many in retail and "services," (a category which includes temporary help.)

Manufacturing, which happens to pay well, is down, down, down. THAT'S the area which is critical to the discussion.

Some of us happen to think that it's also useful for such things as national defense.

Please go over the heads of the pinheads in the media and get the truth out to the people!

It would also help to point out all the things Bush and the Republican Congress have done to bring the jobs back to our shores, defeat the balance of trade deficit and restore America as the unchallenged industrial leader of the world.

What I hear people complain of is job losses which is wrong. If "where" they are working is your complaint, then the decline in manufacturing jobs started in 1998. The high was 18,805,000 in May, 1998 (link) and has slipped downward ever since.

For people to blame this on President Bush is really absurd since he wasn't even thought of in 1998. Remember Ross Perot's warning of a "giant sucking sound"?

I have a problem that maybe some can explain. We have, according to census figures, from eight to ten million illegals in the US. We have an unemployment rate of 5.9% of the work force, according to the government. This should not include illegals, does it? 5.9% of the hundred million unemployed other than farming gives a total with the illegals of approximately twelve to thirteen million. Add over forty million on SS and we have a huge problem with our employment figures and the ability to fund the government as well as retirement benefits. The gainfully employed after deducting 8% government employed cuts the figures further. There is no way this can continue over any period of time.

The tech bubble was bound to burst ..

Yeah, upon recollection, all the following were doomed:

all casualties ...

</sarcasm>

Granted, taking a realistic look, venture capital did take some risks that didn't pan out paid for it, but, the 'tech bubble' has resulted in a paradigm shift in some industry/technology segements, the internet has survived and continues to grow, wideband delivery mediums have continued to be implemented in that last mile to the customer - just not at the rate that was first forecast!

And giving real value to our money.

True. You cannot export the fruits of a service industry job. Service industries only redistribute the wealth that is already here, they do not create wealth.

How is this president Bush's fault though. Most agree that the taxcuts have stimulated the manufacturing job growth in the U.S., so I would say that he is fixing a problem that was started in 1998.

The Microsoft Anti-trust Government and Lawfirm co-operation and power grab was when high tech business leaders began to make new plans.

I think you are right on the money, unfortunately most economists and even Conservative political commentators don't acknowledge this. Everyone knows how strong the psychological component is in the stock markets. The one positive thing that Clinton/Gore did for the economy, something for which they uncharacteristically didn't claim the full credit they were due, was their promotion/hyping of technology/computers. By the same token, when they turned the Bull Dyke General against Microsoft, which had the unintended "blowback" of driving down all tech stocks, people began looking around for other areas of the market that might be overvalued. Hence the recession, Enron, Global Crossing, etc. That having been said, I don't believe that bashing Clinton over the recession will fly with the American people. Mr. Bush will not be running against a Clinton this year, and talking too much about "who shot John" economically reinforces the idea that the economy isn't really in a recovery (the DNC "jobless recovery" ploy). I think the themes that the President needs to emphasize are, 1) the President's leadership in the War on Terrorism: Kerry/the Democrats think the terrorist threat is "exagerated" (even as they prepare to politically exploit the consequences of another major terrorist act), they won't act to defend America without UN and French permission; 2) the economy is going up, not down ("morning in America", anyone? 3)the totally unpolled and (to date) under-reported social issues such as homosexual marriage, Pledge of Allegiance bans, Boy Scout bans and other by-products of Left-Wing ideology and the activist Liberal judges who promote them.

We cannot sit back and let them blame Bush for something that started in 1998. It is total fabrication and takes away from his accomplishments while in office.
