STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT

Today's ruling of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court is deeply troubling. Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. If activist judges insist on re-defining marriage by court order, the only alternative will be the constitutional process. We must do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage.

Am I understanding it correct: the MASC ordered the MA legislature to write law allowing homosexual marriage? The SCOTUS needs to come down hard on these rogues.

I admire the President's unwavering commitment on this, but let's be realistic here. In a nation where the U.S. Supreme Court has no qualms about making up rights that don't exist in the Constitution while at the same time ignoring ones that do, a constitutional amendment regarding the sanctity of marriage is nothing more than a waste of time.

Bull crap. The only way to stuff it to these activist judges is to change the constitution - state of federal.

One of the changes to the federal constitution should be to remove the lifetime tenure of federal judges.

What an absolute bore. I couldn't stomach "Hairy" Kerry for four years! I'm not sure I can stand the campaign.

I hope that means he'll be drafting the necessary amendment and introducing it forthwith, with all the force of the bully pulpit Reagan would have used in this situation.

The Constitutional Amendment process is entirely a function of the Legislative Branch.

The Executive Branch cannot "originate" the amendment; Tom DeLay will be the point man.

STATEMENT BY JOHN KERRY ON MA GAY MARRIAGE RULING:

"This ruling is deeply troubling. It really messes up my life-long ambition of gainng ultimate control over my fellow Americans. Since I have zero principles, I usually stake out both sides of every issue then wait to see which way the wind blows. But now I'm confused. On one hand, homosexual marriage is opposed by 60% of the public. On the other hand, Ted Kennedy is a very handsome man. Maybe I'll ask my rich wife for advice before she goes nuts and I have to find someone even richer--like a fat drunken Senator."

If he's serious, he needs to start loudly and daily pushing the amendment, for it's certainly no longer a QUESTION as to whether activist courts intend to redefine marriage. Of course they do! Good grief. Of course, let's also be realistic and admit that the amendment won't do anything substantive anyway. The only thing that will REALLY slow this 3% of the population in their quest to normalize perversion, is to stop being politically correct and call it what it is, a deadly and unnatural abomination. Then maybe, just maybe, we have a shot at waking up the masses regarding this one facet of indoctrination.

But the real message here is to alot of conservatives: any problems you might have with Bush on immigration (that won't pass anyway), any problems you have with drugs for senior citizens, GET OVER IT. If Kerry wins, his judicial picks will guarantee nationwide gay marriage, and there will be no stopping it.

That said, this will be a tough battle, there is no magic solution here for Bush. There are likely 5 votes on the current SCOTUS to toss the federal DoMA.

He brought it up in his SOTU Address. And that still didn't stop an anti-Bush type to state on a thread the other day that the president has never endorsed a Constitutional Amendment for marriage, when he had just done so in the most public way imaginable.

And here he comes again with a plain spoken statement, and some say "if he's serious".

Thanks for posting this. I had forgotten how Kerry voted.

So Kerry believes that if one state legalizes homosexual marriages, then EVERY state must therefore recognize it as legitimate.
Let's see if he stands by that position now, or checks the polls and flip-flops again.
