LOS ANGELES -- On the heels of Janet Jackson's stunning breast-baring incident on Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show, Jackson reportedly will not appear on the CBS Grammys telecast.
"Entertainment Tonight" is reporting Jackson won't be participating in a tribute to Luther Vandross on Sunday night.
She was previously scheduled to be a part of the Grammy Awards tribute. No reason was available for her departure.
Jackson, CBS, MTV, the NFL and Justin Timberlake have all apologized for the Super Bowl's too-revealing halftime show. CBS said Tuesday it would institute a video delay system to avoid any recurrence at Sunday's Grammy Awards.
At the end of their duet Sunday, Timberlake snatched off part of Jackson's bustier on stage, revealing a breast clad only in a sun-shaped "nipple shield" to some 89 million viewers. Jackson's spokeswoman, Jennifer Holiner, said a red lace garment was supposed to remain when Timberlake tore off the outer covering.
However, questions remain about the intent of both parties involved.
Timberlake, who is nominated for five Grammys, is still scheduled to perform on Sunday's telecast.

Just read this piece from the local paper pulled off from wire reports.
"So what was that thing Janet Jackson was wearing on her breast during Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show?
It's a piercing commonly known as a nipple shield. Jackson's appeared to be a custom-made piece of pure silver and would sell for around $200, jewelers say.
You wouldn't want to wear one of those while you were dancing with a tight outfit," says Drew Michael of Tribalectic.com, a body piercing Web site. "It would be quite uncomfortable, which makes me believe (her exposure) wasn't quite an accident."

I heard on Laura Ingraham's radio show this morning that many parents are now deprogramming their cable boxes so that MTV cannot be accessed.

Timberlake....the ACCOSTER...is allowed to perform?????? COME ON>>>>ADVERTISERS...you are playing with FIRE!!

Ummm, what are the Grammys?
Absolutely nothing on CBS or MTV comes up on my radar screen any longer. If it's on CBS or MTV then it's not worth watching, and certainly will have no effect on my life. Take that Dan Rather - you have never been relevant (only time I would watch Rather is to see him make an @ass of himself on some big story - now, I don't consider that even entertainment), and now the entire newtork shares you same sorry place in the world.

These Jacksons have been "public vulgarians" for many, many years. Here's Latoya in 1991. Wonder what SHE'S doing now...........

Hey! That is great news, maybe this caused some parents to take a look at MTV. For years I thought it was just a kids music thing, we didn't have cable out here in the sticks where we live. Then I took my granddaughter on a mini vacation to a large city. She turned on MTV in the motel room and I about fainted dead away. I made her turn it off immediately and told her that kind of stuff was very bad for her. Mrs PD

I've a vague prediction -- not that such a thing is difficult to make. No matter what the real sales of Janet's next CD are, she'll go gold the first week, platinum by the end of the month.
EMI will have too much fun exploiting this for their own needs.

Was any of this ever shown live on worldwide TV? That is the difference.

Yet she's only sold 2 million copies of her album, which would be a lot for an unknown, but not for somebody whose record company spent millions on promoting this dreck, and not for somebody like her who sold 17 million copies of her first album.
Alicia Keyes and Josh Groban are two of the artists who are outselling Britney, and they didn't even have to take off any clothes to do it!

2) While it may be "hip" to the Hollyweird MTV crowd to pull a sneaky like that on the halftime show, the hamhanded clumsy-ox apologies were decidedly "un-hip." Yep, come to think of it, had they remained defiant, sullen and unapologetic, they'd probably be canonized one day as rock icons.
