CONSERVATIVES, LET US COME TOGETHER AGAINST LIBERALISM (vanity)
1/30/2003 | Jaysun

Posted on 01/30/2004 10:59:43 AM PST by Jaysun

The destructive liberal agenda has created a plentiful harvest of problems. We see daily examples of what their ideas are doing to destroy America. We've reached the cliff in American society. We have to choose between jumping to our deaths and saving ourselves. Many of us would like to do more to stop their socialist anti-American agenda, but aren't sure where to start. There are so many important issues out there that it's difficult to make gains in any them. Solving that problem is the purpose of this thread.

We should join together with like-minded individuals to battle the problems that are most important to us. I propose that we come together here to identify those people who are similarly passionate about different issues. Comment on whatever subject you'd like to see changed (or not changed). Everything from abortion, gun control, public schools, the UN, or anything else. It would be helpful for several people that have studied a particular subject to come together and share ideas. I'll then help you "group together" and alert you all to a common thread from which you can meet and take action. I'll also direct new posters that share your interest to your group. If you are interested in lower taxes (for example) you can talk with others that also share that interest and plan action. For each topic, a group can send out press releases, call talk shows, identify news articles on the subject, start petitions, call and write representatives, and so on. If we work together, even if it's in small groups, we can make a difference.

It doesn't take a lot of people to make a difference. Look at all of the things in our country that have been done by just a handfull of liberals! Indeed one man sued on behalf of his daughter to have "under God" removed from the pledge. A small group of parents in New York got prayer yanked from schools. Let us come together and bring about change.

What do you think?

But that is part of the problem, liberal is far too benign a term to define the Clintons, the Progressive Caucus, MoveOn and the other leftist action groups. If you call them liberal, you could just as easily be referring to the neo-cons because they are closer to liberalism than the Democrats. True liberals are the old bleeding hearts who feel instead of think, that's not the enemy.

Nothing overshadows the problem of illegal immigration. It will destroy America, as we now know it. It is amazing to me that people who should be more aware of that fact are blinded by their god like love of political parties, and politicians.

No political party cares about America, or its voters now. Bush was made president of the Mexican people in 2000, when we erroneously believed he was our president. Fox is constantly letting the cat out of the bag, saying he can't wait until our two nations merge into one nation, and there again Americans ignore this truth because they think it sounds too absurd.

Sometime beyond 2004, this nation is going to be crushed by an unfriendly third-world nation (Mexico) and I hope conservatives everywhere will band together to protect ourselves, because the politicians are not going to be there for us. No political party will have the guts to stand against what is coming.

The term "liberal" means something different that what we ascribe to it today. The term liberal also has gotten a negative connotation attached to it, and the leftist are the reason for that. I don't make up the rules, I just abide by them. I don't agree with the idea that people who feel instead of think are not the enemy. While we all feel compassion for people, the enemy are those who use "feelings" to justify things like multiculturalism, affirmative action, amnesty, welfare, and so on. I too have compassion for people and their various dilemmas. The difference is that I know that the things listed above hurt people more than they help them.

"Liberal" may not be the best term, but it's what people know (much like "gay" used to mean happy). If it makes you feel better, I have no problem referring to them as leftist.

I agree. Illegal immigration is a SERIOUS problem. Do you want to be the person that keeps a thread and ping list on that subject?

how do you set up a ping list

I'm not exactly sure. I know that when you compose a message under "My Mail" you're allowed to list multiple recipients. As to where the names of those multiple recipients are kept, I don't know. Maybe on a separate Excel or Word document to be cut and pasted? Can someone help me out on this?

To set up a ping list, you:

1. Find the folks passionate about each subject.
2. Ask them if they want to be added to your ping list (you should most likely do this via FReepmail)
3. Set up a text file on your computer labeled something like "ping list".
4. begin typing in the names of the folks you are going to ping to the threads, like this: dware; Jaysun; votelife" (this short list would ping the three of us to a thread). Make sure the names are separated by semi-colons.
5. When you find an article of interest to your issue, open your ping list file, copy the contents of your ping list and paste them into the "To:" box while posting a reply to the thread.
6. You'll want a name for your list, so that anyone you ping to any particular thread will know why. If you are building an anti-abortion ping list, you could name it something like THE ANTI-ABORTION PING LIST or something a little more creative.
7. When you "PING" your list members to a thread, your post should be something along the lines of:

ANTI-ABORTION PING LIST - let me know if you want on or off this list.

or something similar.

Keep in mind that ping lists are for notifying people who are interested in any given subject that there is a new article posted here on FR that they may find useful. Don't get upset because someone doesn't want to be on your ping list. It happens.

Whatever you do, don't EVER add someone to a ping list unless they agree.

Thanks Dave. I checked out your website and liked the article, "Exposing the Anti-War Movement: MoveOn.org" and your ongoing battle for our 2nd Amendment rights is needed and appreciated.

No, I've been in the hospital, and I am still weak. I'm lucky to even write my rants, which I won't be doing much longer, as I'll probably be kicked off as we get nearer the election.

We all hate abortion and anti-christianity

There are virulently anti-Christian threads on FR, and it runs through all sorts of threads from those on the subject of evolution to Jerry Falwell to the Founding Fathers.

I can't tell you how happy I was to see this thread. My husband and I discuss the things we read on FR and I often tell him that there's just too much wrong in this country and I'm afraid we've reached the point of no return. I'm worried about what the future holds for my kids!

Anyway, I would be interested in being on the Immigration ping list.

Thanks.

1. CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM. I am opposed to it, based on the limits it presents to free speech and the undemocratic advantages it provides for incumbents.

Ok here's a start.
If You Think Campaign Finance "Reform" Offends the First Amendment, Join This Effort

Hugh & Series, Critical & Pulled by JimRob
Special to FreeRepublic | 17 December 2003 | John Armor (Congressman Billybob)

This is nothing like the usual whine by someone whose post was pulled. JimRob pulled my previous thread for a good reason. "If direct fund-raising were permitted on FR, it would soon be wall-to-wall fund-raising."

So, let's start again correctly. This is about civil disobedience to support the First Amendment and challenge the TERRIBLE CFR decision of the Supreme Court to uphold a terrible law passed by Congress and signed by President Bush.

All who are interested in an in-your-face challenge to the 30- and 60-day ad ban in the Campaign Finance "Reform" Act, please join in. The pattern is this: I'm looking for at least 1,000 people to help the effort. I will run the ad, and risk fines or jail time to make it work -- AND get national support.

But there should be NO mentions of money in this thread, and not in Freepmail either. This is JimRob's electronic home, and we should all abide his concerns.

Put your comments here. Click on the link above, and send me your e-mail addresses. I will get back to you by regular e-mail with the practical details.

This CAN be done. This SHOULD be done. But it MUST be done in accord with JimRob's guidelines.

Fair enough?

Update
I've already tested the idea of my in-your-face challenge ads, first in the print media and then deliberately illegal on TV, with certain editors I have a long relationship with. I could trust these two gentlemen, one in the print media and the other in the broadcast media, with a "heads up" on what I am planning. Both said they wanted to know, in advance, when I am about to do this.

The bottom line is clear. If I am willing to put my neck on the line, with the possibilities of a fine and jail time, THAT effort will put CFR back on the front page in all media. And that is part of the point. There's not much value of going in-your-face against the enemies of the First Amendment unless the press takes up the story and spreads the word. It is now clear they will do exactly that.

Update 2
QUICK PROGRESS REPORT, ANSWERING A SUPPORTER'S QUESTION:
We have about 15% of the needed 1,000 sign-ups.

Spread the word, direct folks to the front page link on my website.

Google-bomb the phrase "anti-CFR" directing readers to that page and link. (We're already #2 and #4 on Google.)

Target date is now August, since the NC primary looks to be put back to September. (Remember, the ad isn't illegal until the 29th day before the election.)

Cordially,

John / Billybob

Note if you are interested in more on this please contact myself(valin) or Congressman Billybob

RoseyT,
Thanks for your post. This is the first day that this post has been up. We have a couple of people already going on their respective subjects and they've provided links to their existing threads. Immigration is still open. Would you like to host a thread and ping list on the subject? My hope is that we can get a few people involved and then create a directory of some sort. So far we have:

Er, um, well...... YES!

Joe,
I realize that my question made me look like I regularly get shock therapy. I was trying to get him to name a specific topic and see if he was interested in hosting a thread and ping list for it. Don't get me wrong, I'm very effective in making an ass of myself - sometimes more than others. :o)
