It's a small thread I've been running now for a while.
If you want I can put you on the ping list.
Note: It's pretty much a once a day list.

Please do put me on your ping list. I thought that the link was being hosted by The_Eaglet because he posted the link earlier. I intend to cite your link as the "go to" place for those against CFR (if that's alright).

The Public seems to think (as they did in 2000) that the most important issues are:

1. Healthcare: They want the Government to pay for it; they need to be shown (tough) that the market does better more cheaply.

2. Education: They wan the Government to pay for it; they need to be shown that the market (private schools) can do better more cheaply.

3. Social Security: They want the Government to pay for it; they need to be shown that the market through various investment mechanisms can do much better (maybe 5 to 10 times better.)

Unfortunately, too many Republicans, Conservatives, etc. are more interested in controlling the above rather than just getting the government out. To paraphrase the famous Clinton Inauguration comment: "It's our Education Department, now."

Thanks Doctor Stochastic. Those three are the main issues for sure. I think that people like us can take action and change the discussion on those issues. If we can do that, we open up new possibilities. Are you from Germany? My wife is from Wimmental (near Heilbronn). We'll be there again this July.

I don't have a conservative mailing list. Mine are specialized for other purposes. But freerepublic is a conservative discussion forum.

There are a couple of things I'd like to get into. I've written some articles about the Democrats destroying the world -- but there's more than one Republican involved. I don't think this problem comes down to political affiliation.

The other thing is that I've been campaigning for a more enlightened use of the word "liberal." We misuse it constantly in the US to mean Democrat Party member or anyone or any idea of the far leftist persuasion. Our country, our constitution, is based on liberalism. Real American political conservatives therefore, must be liberals (in the classic sense).

I cover events and politics in Europe sometimes, and have been in many discussions where I've learned how confused Europeans are about US politics (and how the reverse can also be true) -- and I think a big part of the reason is that they think liberals are one thing, and we keep using the term to mean something completely different. I also think that this misuse of terms confusions Americans (without even considering foreigners).

On the left -- socialism / communism / despotism.

On the right -- liberalism / democracy.

There are a couple of things I'd like to get into. I've written some articles about the Democrats destroying the world -- but there's more than one Republican involved. I don't think this problem comes down to political affiliation.

Those Republicans are called RINOS(Republican in name only). A good example is Arnold Schwarzenegger. He's reintroducing the illegal alien drivers license bill..."with safeguards". Damn him. I'm starting to wonder about President Bush letting more people overrun our country. Jobs that Americans won't take? Which would those be? Who will pick our produce? Two words-prison labor. For the most part, I like President Bush, but this whole "guest worker" program scares the hell out of me.

That's a good point about the misuse of the word "liberal". If you look at the difference between liberal leftists and libertarians, you'll see that the people we call leftists are really socialists and totalitarians. They believe in a one world government, and total control over the populace. Hill and Bill ring a bell? Bill just won't go away. He still thinks he's the president, or something. They're frightening to watch. People like those two, Dominique De Villapaininmyass, who wants to sell arms to China(nuke France!), Koffi Annan and the UN, are undermining America in the international sense. Our judges, elected officials, and government agencies are undermining every one of our guaranteed Constitutional rights!

I don't know what the heck is going on with Israel, Palestinians, and the blasted UN. There is a discussion going on between Nix 2 and I, about some very interesting parallels between the Amalekites of the old testament, and the Palestinian suicide culture. I think this is an important point and unless you're an Atheist, people should check this out. Evil does walk the earth. I have yet to read the bible passages she mentioned (Super Bowl chili time), but some of it is very familiar from when I read the old testament. I think it starts in Exodus 8. I have a Catholic bible, and I've been stumped when others offer biblical quotes because I can't find them, at least the ones from the new testament. From what I've read from web pages that I Googled, it could explain why some people are pure evil. You know the kind I'm talking about. Divorce and custody cases. Saddam, Stalin, Hitler, Hillary, Ceausescu, Pol Pot, Kim Il Jong II, Castro, and of course I'm forgetting lots of them. The French are the worst. Bunch of backstabbing, rotten little hypocrites. That's my take on Europe.

Lol, of course my rant has nothing to do with what you were talking about differences in European and American politics :-)

It boils down to something almost too simple to recognize. It is Consiousness without Conscience. It's being bred out of each new generation. If we are to stop this whirlwind, we must harness this storm and guide our children back to going beyond relative moralism and instilling the realization that concienceless decisions are destroying everything in the world we hold dear.

It didn't start yesterday. It's been going on throughout time. We just didn't have the capacity to reach so many at one time like we do now.
Evil...yes. To have been given such a gift and watched it being smothered slowly to death by those who seek only power, and to what end, I confess, I don't know, but no one can question that we are seeing a worldwide regression of man so that many have become little more than bipeds, human looking without human qualities.

I would think that the most important thing, the gravest issue of our age, is to return our young to conscience. If we can't do that, there is nothing else we can change.
LEARN, ACT, and then TEACH!

Is there a difference between a protective tariff and a revenue tariff?

Here are my issues:

The next Republican President might resolve your ten problems; the next Democrat President won't resolve any of them, but will create a few additional problems for you; third parties are a joke and are for cut-and-run quitters who want to split the conservative power base.
