VANITY: The best way to keep America a sovereign free nation is to keep the Democrats out of power!
Free Republic

Will Bush solve the illegal immigration problem? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the government spending problem? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the campaign finance problem? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the drug war problem? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the nation's education problems? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the so-called healthcare problems? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the so-called environmental problems? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the social security problems? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush solve the medicare problems? Probably not. But neither will Kerry, Edwards, Dean, Clark or Hillary. Chances are, they'd make it worse. Probably far worse.

Will Bush defend America from those bent on destroying her? You'd better bet your sweet bippy he will.

Will any of the Democrats defend America? Hell no they won't. They'd rather turn us over to the U.N. They'd surrender to the French Foreign Legion if given the chance.

Will Bush appoint conservative judges? Yup!

Will Kerry, Edwards, Clark, Hillary, et al, appoint conservative judges? Yeah, right. And hell will freeze over tomorrow.

Will Bush continue reducing taxes? Yup.

Will Kerry, Edwards, Clark, Hillary, et al, raise your taxes as soon as they possibly can if given the opportunity and continue raising them until hell freezes over? Yup.

Will Bush defend the right to life? Check

Will Bush defend marriage between a man a woman? Check

Will Bush defend the right to keep and bear arms? Check

Will Bush say no to Kyoto? Check.

Will Bush say no to a world court? Check.

Will Bush say no to the U.N.? Check.

Will Kerry, Edwards, Clark, Hillary, et al, remove our national sovereignty and subjugate America to world government? Just as quickly as they possibly can if given the opportunity.

Will any other person be elected to the Presidency in 2004 other than Bush (God willing) or a Democrat? Obviously not.

Doesn't make a lick of sense to me to allow the America hating, freedom hating Democrats back into power now that we've kicked them out.

Say yes to sovereignty for America and continued freedom for all Americans.

Say no to the RATS!!

A correct analysis.

A mention to those who want to jump ship to a third party, or to support the Democrats - A sitting president is almost always automatically nominated by the party. If you want a change in national policy, you have an opportunity right now - they're called primaries. Select the candidate which most matches your point of view on the congressional and senate races.

As for the presidential race - it's too late. If you wanted someone to run against Bush, the time has already passed. If you think a third party can leap over congressional races, over senate races, over governor races - you're nuts. This doesn't happen. You have to build your party first. That means doing more than winning city council races, or minor county seats. That means putting in state treasurers, putting in state Representatives, that means stop trying to troll the people here to get them to vote for your candidate when you have absolutely no shot in heck of winning.

Ask the Democrats if they think they can simply take the government by getting /only/ the White House. Heck, ask the Greenies. They know the answer just like everyone else does - voting third party for the Presidential campaign without having the party support under him/her is a vote for 'none of the above' and in a close race, actually contrary to what you desire.

Did the Democrats look at all those votes that went to Nader and go, gosh, we gotta change our policies to bring those Greenies back into the party? No, they moved away from those policies, knowing that they didn't have to worry about those radicals. There's no reason to appease people who have left.

I hate it when people sit there and whine that the RINOs have taken over the party, and the party is not listening to the conservatives, and blast it, if this keeps happening, they're just going to look for a party that is going to support their issues. How the heck do you think the RINOs you despise took control? They participated and funded the party while those who objected withheld support and funds.

JimRob doesn't redesign his website or change the political climate here to make non-conservatives happy; and some ultra-conservatives are finding life uncomfortable here because they've taken a uncompromising attitude. 'Do it my way or I take the highway!' they yell. What's the response? Enjoy the trip.

Where do your stats come from? Not tonight, but soon, I will sic my 30% figure on you with a link from the OMB, or some equally authoritative source. And the 30% figure has not gone up much in decades. Maybe part of the problem with the big deficit at present is to differentiate revenues from spending. I think my figure is based on spending, but maybe it is based on the revenues. Oh the horror. I still think the regulatory figure (whereever you got it from) is largely misleading and tendentious. But that is a can of worms in and of itself, and we would have to spend hours defining our terms, and our sources, and what we mean, and how much of it is a justified internalization of costs into the price system, and how much of it is just taxation by another name. And so it goes.

Well, I'll look forward to matching Tax Percentages again, at your leisure.

However, I assure you that my Estimates of of the Economic Burden of Regulation are hardly invented. In fact, they're probably under-estimated -- I'm sure you are already aware that if standard Federal OSHA regulations were applied to Home Businesses, half the Telecommuters in America would be bankrupted tomorrow.

Of course, OSHA has made exceptions for Home Businesses...

...but the necessity of Making Exceptions only goes to Prove the Basic anti-economic Insanity of the Regulatory Regime.

best, OP

I am sure if you have some substantive disagreement with what I mused about, you will just come out and post it, which is OK with me. Your last post didn't move the ball much, and thus a substantive response is rather impossible.

The left despises Bush. They don't yelp, they call him Hitler,or a miserable failure,a danger, arrogant, unilaterist,a war monger...and people are not covered for health care.

Health care coverage is the theme for most of the dem candidates because that seems to be a real need expressed by THEIR base. They want to tax the rich and erase poverty.(sure)No, the left is not happy with Bush. They want to create jobs and Bush doesn't care they have no jobs.(I don't know how they'll create jobs and they don't either.)

Your post makes perfect sense to me Jim Rob. I can't NOT vote for President Bush. (Although ughhhhh, what is this thing with the NEA? Sometimes, it seems like he is making supporting him, alot harder than it has to be.)

I can understand where some people won't vote for him. I guess everybody has to do what they think is right in the end.Too bad there's so much fighting going on about it. Sheesh you guys; these 'Bots vs. 'Bashers threads are starting to look like some kind of Freeper Civil War. Can't we all just get along?(ducking in-coming flames, daggers, and dirty looks being sent my way at this moment)

And now for something completely off topic: Can someone please tell me why it is, that if you're going to get sick with a cold/ flu (or something ), it's almost guaranteed it will hit you on the morning of your first day back to work; and NOT on your days off? i.e. I felt great up until today (My "Monday" so to speak)- I woke up feeling like I had swallowed broken glass, (bad sore throat) and also had been run over by a bus. Oh but I had to go to work - Too late to call in.

( My company has the Miss Cleo call in policy- your are supposed to divine through Psychic ability that you will be sick 24 hours before you actually get sick, so they have 24 hrs to replace you. Anything else is an unexcused absence. The only exception to the rule is if your untimely death occurs. But, they would prefer you give them 24 hrs notice of that too.)

Anyway, I went to work , and had a terrible day. Which is another of life's' almost certainties:

If you do go to work when your not feeling well, it's almost certain that everything will go wrong, and you will have to drag yourself throughout the day.(Yeeeuuu, that was my day.)

I think this is the same force that sends a rain storm on Monday morning, instead of Sunday morning, (and naturally after you've washed the car). As you drag yourself out into the downpour, you think :

"Why can't the rain come on my days off , so I can stay in my nice warm bed, and listen to the it splashing on the roof, instead of trudging through it?"

Speaking of my nice warm bed, it's calling to me. Sorry for the mini-rant I just had to get this out of my system . I am suffering from the side effects of cold medication too= I feel loopy-pardon me. Nite all.

Interesting numbers. Nonetheless, low production costs of their goods and openness of our markets fuels their economic (and military) explansion.

I remember making about 90 cents an hour when I worked a dime store job when in high school. That was some time ago. Minimum wage is about 6 times that now. In China it's about half that or less. You can make a lot of tennis shoes at 45c and hour that sell for $45 a pair. If that worker turns out just one pair an hour (yet we know it's an assembled product, not a single-craftsman product), that's an impressive return, isn't it, because the parts of plastic and cloth and glue probably add only another 45c?

With that kind of profit who cares if the tax is 30% or 38%? Answer: the companies who send their shoe factories to China.

I can, and do, both criticize and praise the man as necessary. This is not 100% across the board with a lot of FReepers, however.

Agreed. Perhaps it's just human nature to criticize more often than one praises. You hear a lot of people say their boss never recognizes them, but I can't remember many saying they're recognized TOO MUCH...

I asked him how long he's lived here and that's VALID!

To be accurate, you asked, "Just how long have you lived in America, you Canadian transplant?" My suspicion is that your statement was more an invitation at a flamefest than a legitimate question.

I said that HE talks out of both sides of his mouth;not Canadians.

Actually, you said, "Since you are more used to a SOCIALISTIC government, obviously, you speak out of both sides of your mouth quite easily." Your implication is that since the poster is more used to the Canadian form of government, it must follow that he speaks our of both sides of his mouth more easily. If that wasn't your intent, okay. But that's the way the sentence reads.

For someone who claims that he came onto this thread, at the suggestion of the LEAD MODERATOR, to make it more civil, you have done the exact opposite!

I think what we must ask ourselves, is who has made it more uncivil? Is it my calls for restraint, or the rather unpleasant responses to them, that have caused this situation to occur? I would draw your attention to the fact that I've been unfailingly polite on this thread.

All you have done, is to personally attack a select few, who hold other views than YOU do,

In point of fact, I've attacked no one here. I've condemned particular statements and suggested that you and onyx should hold yourself to a higher standard. No attacks, though.

totally ignored the topic of this thread,

Actually, my initial dialogue with Jim was directly on point. I thought we had a nice give and take, and concluded that we're far more similar on the subject than we are different.

baited,

Where?

and talked about yourself and your personal life.

I did respond to one poster who claimed I've never had a happy day in my life by explaining that my family and work situation is such that I couldn't imagine being in a better place. I see that as a legitimate response - not an inappropriate comment about my personal life.

You've wasted bandwidth,

The text I've posted here consumes very little bandwidth, especially when contrasted with the multiple large pictures posted on many threads.

you've done, in spades, what you accuse others of having done( which they haven't ),

I don't know what theat statement means. Perhaps you can rephrase to clarify?

lied repeatedly,

Where? I haven't lied once, and frankly take great pride in my integrity.

and tried to turn this much needed thread into a flames war.

Have I? Or have the responses to my entreaties for restraint done that? Perhaps some introspection is in order.

Go to bed...............you are doing nothing here, other than proving your worthlessness.

I already did. Now I'm back at work...

Incidentally, I received a reply from the Lead Moderator via Freepmail. I'll be happy to share the gist of it with you over private mail if you'd like. Just send me a note or reply here and let me know. Hopefully we can end this thread on an amicable note.
