OBL, EU, UN, France, and Germany took note of "Beagle2" never "calling home" from Mars while "Spirit" is in recovery and talking again and our 2nd Mars Rover is taking pic of new rock layers never seen before.
If they were shook up by our Predators in Afghanistan, Yemen, and Iraq they need to be especially polite to GW and our American military and brave coalition partners.
GW's Mexico speech drove all of the Dwarves further to the left and exposed their ultimate agendas.
GW knows US voters are 75% against it and our Conservative majority Congress is not about to pass it.
Rove and GW have sandbagged the left once again without spending one penny on media ads to expose the dem/lib radicals.
Who is dumb?

But I didn't see the President's immigration PROPOSAL on Wolfstar's and Southack's list of his CONSERVATIVE accomplishments, did you?
There is a 14 point list of what the President has done for conservatives under this heading: Homeland Security, Border Enforcement & Immigration Several of those 14 points deal with the President's policies on Illegal Aliens. How is his proposal to legalize millions of Illegals, the most significant aspect of the President's policy on Illegals to date, not a legitimate part of the conversation on this thread? Sorry, Saber. It's a legitimate issue, which has been discussed, and can still be discussed on scores of threads on the subject, and I'm sure it has a place as PART of this discussion. It's just that I've seen a few too many hijacked threads forcing the entire thread to switch gears, and it's irritating, to say the least.
Look at the title of the thread: Who says George W. Bush has done "nothing" for conservatives? How has it been hijacked by a discussion of what the President has or hasn't done for conservatives? If you find it irritating that the President's ill-advised Amnesty proposal is sucking the air out of the room, then it seems to me that you have a complaint with the President.

"Big government is not the solution to any of our social ills, including widespread divorce. Although it is tempting when you are in control, big government CANNOT be used to advance the cause of good. The ring must be destroyed, for the good of all."
Naive liberals would love to give us a smaller government by disbanding our entire military, but that would hardly advance the cause of good, especially in the face of radical wahabbism and rogue nuclear powers such as North Korea.
Nuclear blackmail is something that military bereft nations need fear.
Lets not go there. Anarchy might sound good when you are trapped in the unreal confines of liberal sanctuaries (e.g. universities), but in practice it simply divides up the strong such that small forces of evil can easily triumph.

I think all of this hyperventilating needs to be taken down a notch. AWB is nowhere close to coming to the house this year, the guest worker or amnesty program is still just a proposal, and the spending is just as much the congress fault as it is the President. I see people saying they wont vote for Bush for things that have not even been voted on or even reached the desk of the President. Many say he is spending like crazy, but it is also the obligation of the congress to send any bill back to the white house if it is way to expensive. Many say he has the veto, but remember if there are enough votes could there be a possiblity to override the veto. I'm not sure but if someone else knows better, clarify that. We as free independent thinkers should be able to disagree about many policies without resorting to the namecalling and outright disrespect being shown here. I would expect that from liberals who use those tactics when they have no clear or proper response. Excellent perspective and post.

But notice it was about the Republican primaries where we all got in flame wars. It was Republican against Republican for the most part especially after Pat went to Reform. Those were different kinds of flame wars and comments then we see today. Everyone wanted their own candidate to win and we had some knock out fights about our candidates. But in the end most of united when the Florida fiasco started because the thought of Gore was just too much for us to consider. Republicans don't have a real primary this time around but some of these posters never show up on the threads about the Democrat candidates and trash them. That is where it looks really odd -- only trash Pres Bush but no DemocRATs.
I recognize the disagreements with the President and understand the frustration even if I don't share all of it, but to threaten to vote for a RAT or stay home -- no Republican is going to do that -- having spent so many years in the minority -- no way we are not voting or voting for a liberal DemocRAT. We put our differences aside, hold our nose, and vote for the Republican candidate depending the year. Mine was 1996 when Dole ran who was my last choice of all the candidates -- I voted for Phil Gramm in the primary but in the general I voted for Dole. He won Texas at least.

I'm saving this thread for the list! Fantastic to pull all this together!
Under health care could be added the President's work to cut back the lawyers' take on judgements and settlements, because that will really help to cut down the number of lawsuits which are themselves contributing to the explosion of health care costs.

Are you so blind to NOT see how encouraging MORE illegal aliens to come over the border RAISES crime and MOCKS our laws? Do you know how much money ILLEGAL aliens eat up in incarceration and how they are NOT deported with NO follow up? Ever talk to someone who lives near the border? The fear they live in? Damage to their property? How often they are robbed or beaten? Yet George Bush insists on allowing this to continue, in fact, WELCOMES more of it.

Okay, okay. Very funny. I knew about those guys!
For that matter, we had some debate from NH FReepers who were arguing over whether it was more destructive to the Dims if they voted Dean or Lieberman. Both had their talking points. I think they'll end up cancelling each other out but it seemed that Dean would get a vote or two extra out of FR that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Blah, blah blah--when are you coming up with what Carolina asked--give us the list of the positives that JF Kerry has accomplished.

The only reason Arafat is alive is because of this administration Um...yeah...right...ignoring the Israeli Parliament, Great Britain, Europe, Russia, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan....
Arafat should have been dead a long time ago but if Israel kills him then they are at war with all their neighbours. Arafat is holed up in his compound and not at Camp David because of this President.
Have you seen our position on Taiwan lately?
Yep - have you? It hasn't changed in 20 years. Bush on CNN in 2002:
"Our nation will help Taiwan defend itself," he said. "At the same time, we support the one-China policy, and we expect the dispute to be resolved peacefully."
That has been the basics for US policy the entire time. In response to Taiwan considering an independence referendum, Bush said, "We oppose any unilateral decision by either China or Taiwan to change the status quo. And the comments and actions made by the leader of Taiwan indicate that he may be willing to make decisions unilaterally to change the status quo, which we oppose." PDF of remarks and analysis
That is zero change in policy. It is a warning to both China and Taiwan not to do anything. The only change was that he said it to the Chinese leader directly in his face.
The AIDS money is going straight to some dictator's bank account or will be used by him to solidify his position.
Really? Any proof? At all?

The military is one of the few necessary and legitimate functions of the government. Heaven forbid we shrink it. Let's keep it at its current size and stop trying to use other parts of government to advance social goals.
To: onyx
Let me see if I have this right.
President Bush doesn't deserve re-election because:
1. of his recent immigration PROPOSAL.
2. TRUE CONSERVATIVES are upset over his "BIG GOVERNMENT SPENDING"
3. He wasn't honest with us over CFR.
4. SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE said he will strenuously push for a more restrictive AWB.
Do I have it?
I only ask because this thread lists 119 individual accomplishments.

Would look for Tort Reform to be a priority in his next term. He was big on Tort Reform in Texas and they finally passed Tort Reform recently which would make the President proud to be from Texas.

LM: Yes, we have seen some posting talking points. I've seen two Kerry guys who were using stuff directly off his page.
Wow. But still, not exactly an invading horde. (Gotta try to save face here so PhiMom doesn't rub it in too much...)
PhiMom: Unfortunately they are a group. We have some here in OK and do not know who they are -- not on the voter roles as Republicans and hard to believe anyone in OK supported McGovern.
Log Cabin maybe? My next guess would be hardcore education conservatives because Dean vocally opposes nationalizing control of education under No Child Left Behind, something I didn't even know until last night when he mentioned it on TV. Previously, I thought he opposed it because he wanted to spend more or something.
But I'd bet it's catamites until I hear otherwise.
To: PhiKapMom
Well then, there you have it.
No doubt Tancredo will be Karl Rove's #1 target in the months to come.
