(Phony) Kerry/Rescue-ee 'Surprise' Reunion Well Planned
Newsmax ^ | 1/22/04

Posted on 01/22/2004 9:41:09 AM PST by areafiftyone

John Kerry took reporters for a ride in Iowa, and it wasn’t just while he was taking stabs at President Bush for landing on an aircraft carrier as he himself flew around with the press in an helicopter over the corn fields.

The reunion scene in which Kerry seemed completely stunned at the site of the Vietnam pal he rescued during his war days must have been enough to give the Grinch himself a case of the warm fuzzies.

Kerry rescued Jim Rasmann after heavy enemy gunfire, before going on to become one of the war’s biggest protestors. The two hadn’t seen each other since.

But, according to the American Spectator, Rassman contacted the Kerry campaign days before the celebrated "reunion rally.”

Well, the Kerry Campaign isn’t stupid. After being flown to Iowa, Rassman just happened to be standing smack in the middle of a press gaggle when Kerry "spotted” him and the two hugged.

It was about as moving as a slow-motion scene from a 70s movie, except everyone knew about it days ahead of time.

"It was a wonderful, moving moment," says a Kerry volunteer. "We were briefed on it before the event, and told to steer cameras to a certain area. Reporters knew about it in advance, and so did Senator Kerry. We don't leave anything like this to chance."

Kerry’s "surprise” lasted well into the day.

I know I have a new account so that automatically discounts everything I say no matter the logic of my arguments or how politely I say them.

Why do some posters of FR attack the poster instead of the posters comments? And having read FR for over two years I know such statements are not meant to be a welcome they are meant to cast a negative light on the poster. They are generally used when the responder can not come up with a coherent argument in response and the post doesn't violate the FR TOS.

Did you get this upset when the Bush advance team covered up all the Made in China labels on the shipping boxes and had Bush give a speach in front of a backdrop that had Made in America all over it?

What event was this?

I think I'll go out on my lawn and arrange a little cross made of rocks. Somebody film me. (What is it with these people? It seems the only thing about them that's sincere is the anger they display when they lose their tempers.)

One thing about Kerry - We may not agree with his politics, but he was the Real Deal in the Delta.

I found these with a quick google search. I was unable to get the FR search engine to work correctly.

Thanks for the ping.

Al-Katie Couric interviewed this guy today. He made no bones about calling the Kerry camp ahead of time. But I missed part of the interview. Maybe glgb can fill in some of the details....
