Kerry is a graduate of the Clinton school of acting. He graduated 1st in his class. He can cry at funerals too.

Hmmm. If accurate (and assuming Bush was in on it), I'd say it's comparable to Kerry's antics in this article. Neither one rises to the level of knocking over flags at a cemetery.

Where did this take place? I try to catch all of President Bush's appearances on Foxnews and do not remember the backdrop that you are referencing.

I think I'll go out on my lawn and arrange a little cross made of rocks. Somebody film me.

Bwahahahahaha!!!!

It's not the beach shot, but hey it can serve as a model for you.

....except everyone knew about it days ahead of time....

Of course it was staged, and John Kerry didn't seem at all surprised at the surprise. The guy he rescued many years ago happend to be a Republican, John Kerry is a Democrat, and this "reunion" was made to appear as though John Kerry can appeal to all political persuasions, while remaining a Northeastern liberal Democrat. The only ones fooled were the ones who bought into this whole made-for-TV sob story caca.

Let him have the photo op. He served his country, risked his life, and saved this man's life. God bless him for that. We are grateful for what he did as a young man.

I agree. I saw this Rassman on the Today Show today and he detailed his rescue, which btw, was witnessed and assisted by several troops, so is clearly true. He said the explosion that knocked him into the river also hit Kerry in the arm. The boats came back for him, and Kerry exposed himself to potential enemy fire when he leaned over and helped Rassman into the boat and thus saved his life.

Rassman stated he decided to call the Kerry campaign, and they called back and asked if he'd like to join them all in Iowa, which was something he had not expected. Further, he said men associated with Kerry in Vietnam, including this incident, have joined in campaigning for Kerry.

Rassman did go on to say he agreed with Kerry's later anti-war stance and if he himself had been braver he'd have joined him, so to be clear...all of these Vietnam comrades of Kerry are also united in Kerry's anti-war sentiments.

The only dispute about this story so far is if Kerry was truly surprised to see Rassman in the crowd.

Now, let's talk about what he is doing to hurt our nation and our commander in chief as we are waging a war on terror and defending Western Civilization.

Exactly. We should not get sidetracked nitpicking over whether Kerry really was surprised to see the man in the crowd or not. There are bigger fish to fry and more important issues to challenge him on.

Kerry's contempt for the military may not rise to the level of Clinton's, but the fact that they both scorn the military makes your comparison laughable.

Why, of course. You need to be fair and show truth and sincerity. ; *)

No, he didn't have to phony it up. But let's not attack that. It was trivial. Let's attack what is important. I give him a pass on that one. It's not the same as a draft dodger who loathed the military defiling the beach in Normandy with a phony rock photo op. That dishonored those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defending this nation from the Nazis.

Regardless of the details involving Rassman, if Kerry aligned himself closely with the likes of Jane Fonda, I have a hard time respecting his service or trusting his willingness to do what may be necessary to defend us. I think that could be a big issue.

Oh, I think Kerry's anti-war protests are definitely fair game.

You just made my skin crawl.

Forgive us if we sometime get trivial.I'm on another thread trying to preserve sanity while people tell their reasons for a third party vote or that a dem in the Presidency would be better for "true conservatives" than a Bush presidency. One just suggested he be impeached over CFR.There are many of us to fight the good fight..

Yes, I think it could well pose a problem for him.

My husband was a marine in Vietnam. They overran an enemy hospital and found blood containers clearly marked "Donated by the Students at Berkley". Some very ugly memories are stirred when a person is associated with givng aid and comfort to the enemy.

No such person should ever be able to serve as president.......but then we did suffer WJC, didn't we? *sigh*

Perhaps that is why the Kerry campaign is playing the heroism so hard. Maybe it is a preemptive strike for the not-so-flattering other side of John Kerry. IMO, they may have played their supposed high card too soon.
