I'm not quite sure how to ask the question without offending anyone, but here goes.

Is this actor Jewish?

All the folks with the last name Davies that I know are Jewish. If he is Jewish or is thought to be Jewish, then that might put a different perspective on why his views are condemed and why he's willing to express his views so openly.

"His attack on Muslims and comments about the threat that they pose to Western society shows his ignorance of world events and the true teachings of Islam." - Adam Price, Plaid Cymru MP for Carmarthen East & Dinefwr.

This sounds like a typical quote from a true political prostitute, wonk and collaborator.

Yes, I always love the "true teachings of Islam" B.S.

Even if the "true teachings" weren't so reprehensible, the nutcase Imams out there would twist it to make it so. Given that the "true teachings" *are* reprehensible, it *really* becomes an abomination once the crazed Imams twist it further.

Ironically enough, Mr. Rhys-Davies is publicly condemned for simply speaking his mind yet so many denizens of the entertainment industry live blatantly selfish, immoral and self-indulgent lives or spout off vicious anti-American rhetoric and are not condemned, including some of his Rings co-stars. But that's okay -- to the politically correct, what counts is not doing the right thing it's saying the right thing, purporting to hold the right attitudes. I think that one of the reasons why Hollyweirdos tend to be liberal is that liberalism sanctions their self-absorbed and morally degenerate attitudes and behavior.

TWO Thumbs up for that analysis - perfect!

The last sentence of the article is so telling, and having known many a man and women living in the house of sand, thechurch thing, and the religious police were just open examples of the repression of freedom as we and the founding fathers understood it. The entire nation of islam is headed for the fall it must take for truth to even begin to have influence or sway among its peoples. Great find.

I went to see this guy speak in Seattle Saturday night. He pretty much expressed the same views there, in no way was it "race hating", if anything he was simply stating matters of fact and showing some fondness for a culture that he admires. (yes, you can be white and have a culture) He was a fantastic speaker, very engaging and thought provoking, with a powerful but gentle way of delving into sensitive subjects like this.

Outraged Islamic leaders in Wales demanded an immediate apology from Lord Of The Rings actor John Rhys-Davies, who claimed an increase in Europe's Muslim population was a "demographic catastrophe" threatening "Western civilisation".

Apology? For what? Telling the truth?

Just damn.

If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Heard him on Michael Medved the other night. If you can't stand up for Western civilization or Christianity then you will be trampled by the Orcs. Tolkien said it. I'm glad at least one of the actors got it.

One headline you will NEVER see: "Saudi Christian leaders call upon Royal Family for formal apology for insensitive, anti-Christian remarks."

I guess their religious leaders just like a monopoly.

Naw, they just know their dogma wouldn't stand up to the comparison and questions, so none is allowed.

Besides how is this racist?

Because white folks aren't allowed to feel pride/respect/reverence for their culture.
The second we do, we’re ‘racist’!

When did Islam become a race?

I hope this brave fellow stays in the US where he has access to the proper self-defense weapons, because you just know that "the religion of peace" will issue a fatwa against him when he does not retract.

Dutch Chocolate, windmills, tulips, beautiful clean towns and countryside, dairy farms, cheese, diamonds, canals, Anne Frank's house, history as a country of refuge during the reformation has extended even to today, finance, shipping,

I haven't been there in about 4 years. Here's what is said of one of the most beautiful gardens ever created by humans. It was almost a religious experience walking the Keukenhof.

****In the spring, Keukenhof is THE flower attraction of Holland, and possibly the world. Each year the garden becomes a vast sea of colors from the millions of blooming tulips, crocuses and daffodils.******

He played a very nice Middle Eastern man in "Raiders of the Lost Ark".

My respect for JRD grows. What a great response.

Credit to the paper for actually allowing him to speak his views at some length.

Right; I caught the same, and their asking him to "defend" his views.

BUT...

...the big difference between them and (say) AP or Reuters or any of the other propaganda plants is that they actually print his response at some length, presumably verbatim.
