Should Saddam Hussein be executed?
Poll being conducted by San Francisco PBS TV station KQED.
Know that if you answer YES, you will be asked:
Are you sure?....and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), and many of the world's spiritual and political leaders are opposed to the death penalty?.....and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that most international human rights organizations oppose the death penalty and some Iraqis do not want Saddam Hussein to be executed?......and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that some argue killing Saddam would create a martyr and could inspire further terrorism?......and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that some argue only a trial by the International Criminal Court, which does not allow the death penalty, would fairly review all the evidence, including Saddam's past relationship with the United States and other countries??
THE VOTE TALLY IS NOW OVERWHELMINGLY AGAINST INSANE'S EXECUTION.
What say you???

The Iraqi people should decide. My bet is that they would quickly decide he should hang.

The results are, at this point, absolutely pathetic!

What kind of screwed up poll is this? They gave me 4-5 reasons why he shouldn't and I had to vote yes after each reason. Did they do this for the no's?

Since when do the junkies, faggots, socialists, and general human(?) debris in San Francisco have anything at all to say about the internal affairs in Iraq? Methinks they are being a bit presumptous.

Master Sergeant John C. Woods, of San Antonio, Texas, readies the noose for the hanging of convicted Nazi criminals. Woods, the official executioner for the US Army, said, "I hanged those 10 Nazis and I am proud of it!"

I doubt that any Iraqi's get KQED on cable, so it's a bit irrelevant what Babylon-by-the-bay thinks ought to happen in Babylon.

Yes, it does it for the "no" answers too. I voted yes, but stopped reading the explainations as soon as I saw the bit about the U.N. saying the death penalty is wrong.

KQED forgot to ask if I gave a rat's ass about their editorializing and opinion-moulding b.s. Pity.
To: Robert Drobot
Given that is has been reported that Saddam has cancer and that it is untreatable, our Doctors found this at the time of his capture, what difference will it make??
If he does have cancer and may well be dead within the space of 18 months, he may never have a trial, and if he does may not be in any condition to participate in it.
This bodes for a very anticlimactic ending of the whole affair.
