Should Saddam Hussein be executed?
Poll being conducted by San Francisco PBS TV station KQED.
Know that if you answer YES, you will be asked:
Are you sure?....and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), and many of the world's spiritual and political leaders are opposed to the death penalty?.....and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that most international human rights organizations oppose the death penalty and some Iraqis do not want Saddam Hussein to be executed?......and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that some argue killing Saddam would create a martyr and could inspire further terrorism?......and asked to vote it up or down again. If you vote YES, you will be asked:
What if you knew that some argue only a trial by the International Criminal Court, which does not allow the death penalty, would fairly review all the evidence, including Saddam's past relationship with the United States and other countries??
THE VOTE TALLY IS NOW OVERWHELMINGLY AGAINST INSANE'S EXECUTION.
What say you???

Actually, I'd like to see the Bay area used as a training ground for our Naval, Air and ground forces.
Just think what a wonderful night-time display we could create.....

Talk about your classic manipulation w/ the four pages of arguments trying to convince "voters" of voting against execution!!!!!!!
To: Howie66
The vote is now in favor of execution.
What evil could possibly merit the death penalty more than what this evil man did? The citizens of Iraq will know what to do.

What kind of screwed up poll is this? They gave me 4-5 reasons why he shouldn't and I had to vote yes after each reason. Did they do this for the no's?The YES vote is now 52% (good work everybody). They'll whine that their poll was freeped, but they sure went out of their way to get one to vote NO. My only real complaint is that they needed the choices of YES/NO and HELL YES.
And to think this is done with our tax money.

He continued, "But the Iraqi Governing Council, taking its lead from Washington, last week established a tribunal that is to be dominated by Iraqi jurists. Despite the superficial appeal of allowing Iraqis to try their own persecutors, this approach is unlikely to produce sound prosecutions or fair trials."
What the frick type of reasoning is this? What, are they genetically not able to come to a proper decision? Are they not educated well enough? Unlikely to produce sound prosecutions or fair trials? Go stick it in your ear!
Freeped with great pleasure!

I wouldn't be surprised that the reason that there are as many no votes as there are is because some people close their browser and delete the kqed cookie so that they can vote again.

If Hussein doesn't deserve to have his lights extinguished, then there never will be anyone who deserves to.
Hook him up! Flip the switch!

hmm - I voted at 10:15 and it said
179 yes - so it would seem that the yes votes are being "misplaced" as your earlier vote showed 180 yes votes.
I'm certainly shocked.
