The President had a very busy day today, leaving this morning for New Orleans, Louisiana, appearing first at a roundtable discussion on faith-based initiatives, then at Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he spoke to faith based and community leaders, and finally at a fundraising luncheon at the National D Day Museum.

He then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia where, accompanied by Coretta Scott King and King's daughter, Christine King Ferris, he placed a wreath on the tomb of Martin Luther King, Jr. on what would have been his 75th birthday, and this evening is at a fundraiser this evening with Democrat, Zell Miller, who will be campaigning for the President‘s reelection this year (Go, Zell!)

Enjoy this MUCH needed visit to Sanity Island as you revel in your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

I have lost a dad and a unborn daughter. You expect to lose a grandparent, parent, even a spouse after a period of time, but not a child.

We are suppose be mourned by a child, not mourn the death of a child.

You are right about the love in his face. The people at the church saw it too. There were more than a few "Amens" during his preach/speech. (I love his church speeches!) He kept mentioning how the people who had worked in the faith based programs were saving lives and helping people "one person at a time". That's what he was doing there. He was winning over people who would never have considered voting for a Republican before..."one at a time".

Just being that close to him must have been a thrill. I know what you mean about the Dose making you feel that you already knew him! The Dose had not even started when I saw him inside the cattle barn right after that 2nd debate w/Gore. Laura was with him, and I just knew that they were on their way to the WH. But then came that horrendous month+ of Gore/Florida/court rooms/SupremeCourt, etc. I lived in sweats and was glued to the computer 24/7 it seemed.

This picture has a good story, too. From where I was, I couldn't see the president because everybody was standing up as he worked the front rows. I could see 2 young african american ladies on the balcony who pretty much just yelled at him until they got his attention and he stopped so they could get a picture. After they got it they were laughing and hugging and high-fiving each other. Definitely Bush-babes!
One heart at a time..(or two)....

Thank you for your information. We here post mostly as faceless screen names.. but each of us has a life, pain, joy and "situations".. It is fun to revel in Pix of Dubya..........and to share in our countries victories & our "opponents" flaps. But the really important thing is to be there when our "faceless" friends need us. somehow it seems so trite to post words of condolences.. but all of us are sincere and deep in our expressions of sympathy & of sorrow for MamaB. I do hope you will feel comfortable MaMaB t share the station.. It would be good for you & helpful to us as your FReeper friends to be there for you.

God Bless you & give you the peace that passes all understanding.. no one, nothing else can do that.

Much love & many prayers heading your way...

You are so right about never expecting the parent having to mourn the death of a child instead of vice versa. Your loss of your daughter, born or unborn...it doesn't matter which imo...has to have been a grievous one. My condolences, no matter how long ago it was.

I love that story !! And I LOVED his talk today to the congregation. I could hear the "amens"! over the airwaves. He truly is at his best in this type of setting. Not a phony bone in his body.

WOW! What a terrible experience, especially if people wouldn't help! I hope the counseling is helping the panic attacks. God's peace to you!

I love your tagline. So true, and appropriate for MamaB tonight. And all of us who have lost loved ones, for that matter . . .

Yeah, but it won't work because we like REAL men in the midwest. Can't see him getting his hands dirty or mussing his hair doing any REAL work!

I'm sooooo jealous! Nice pictures! If you were standing, and from the side, you probably got a better view than a lot who were sitting. I LOVE the foot thing! He is so comfortable wherever he is, moving . . . a really fun speaker to watch--even tho his message is usually so powerful you don't notice his body language as much.

What was he doing in a cattle barn, and where? Got any pictures? My husband raises cattle, and I've thought of inviting the Pres. to our annual cattle sale! Can you just see it? Secret service, limos, . . .LOL!

I'd save him a seat!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING YOUR PIXES OF THE PRESIDENT -- AWESOME!

Can you provide us with your personal 'blow-by-blow' account of the event, including your function (at the event) and the overall reaction of the attendees!!

Yeah, when my husband did wedding photography, he learned to advise the brides when posing to alternate feet ... keeps you from getting dizzy.
