A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 1.15.04

The President had a very busy day today, leaving this morning for New Orleans, Louisiana, appearing first at a roundtable discussion on faith-based initiatives, then at Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he spoke to faith based and community leaders, and finally at a fundraising luncheon at the National D Day Museum.

He then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia where, accompanied by Coretta Scott King and King's daughter, Christine King Ferris, he placed a wreath on the tomb of Martin Luther King, Jr. on what would have been his 75th birthday, and this evening is at a fundraiser this evening with Democrat, Zell Miller, who will be campaigning for the President‘s reelection this year (Go, Zell!)

Enjoy this MUCH needed visit to Sanity Island as you revel in your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

If I were attacked like you were, I would be having panic attacks too. You had a very good reason. A politician realizing he has the job he most likely aspired to having a panic attack is another thing entirely isn't it?

Well they kept talking about all the protesters outside and how The King Family and The NAACP didn't want President Bush to go there today

And I was thinking to myself how sad that all was .. that this wasn't what MLK had in mind when he fought for civil rights

BUT .. now that I see all these pictures .. I get the feeling the media blew this reporting Big Time

I haven't heard about the panic attacks and sleeping pills Truthy. Do you have any source or speculation as to how this information got out? (smelling Clinton here)

Does the release of detrimental information on the Thursday before election day ring any bells, jog any memory? Sounds like the Clinton M O to me, too.

Please know that we all love you and are praying for the peace and comfort of God to be upon you and your family. I can't pretend to know the pain of losing a child, but I do know that God does know, and pray that He will give you the peace that passes all understanding. You are never alone.

Great Pictures! I like the foot positioning on this one and a couple others too. I think the First Lady also tends to stand on alternating feet when she gives speeches.

"And I was thinking to myself how sad that all was .. that this wasn't what MLK had in mind when he fought for civil rights"

Very True! MLK would be sad to those protestors today, but then again he would have ignored them, just like Mrs. King and GWB did today

Thank you for the additional info. No matter the age, the death of a child must transcend even the death of one's parents and/or spouse. I've dealt w/the loss of my parents and of my dear husband, and I was devastated. I can only imagine the grief MamaB must be experiencing now. God help her and bring her some measure of comfort in knowing that Jan is with HIM.

I did not realize that her digestive problems had gotten so much worse. We have all been praying for you and your daughter, and we will continue to do so. Please get back on the thread as soon as you can stand it. We need to know that you will get through this, and we will help all we can. I can give you good info about fibromyalgia that helps me get through the day,but please try to keep your stress level down by any means necessary(I know that sounds dumb, but important) to avoid a worsening of the fibro. Please gaze up in the sky at the prettiest, and brightest twinkling star, and there you will find Jan's new home. God bless you, and keep you and your family safe.

Seeing these pictures in Atlanta has brought back a memory of working overtime in an office building in downtown Atlanta years ago. It was a very quiet Sunday morning when I started hearing sirens coming from all directions. Turned out some nut had come down from out of state and shot MLK's mother in the church that MLK had preached at when he was living just a few blocks from where I was working , she was the organist there. She died that morning along with the preacher if I remember right. So sad.

I like the foot thing, too. You hardly get to see it in the "real" pictures. I was about 30 or 40 feet from the President, standing against the side wall of the church with the rest of the volunteers. Unfortunately not close enough to the front to get a handshake or a ***kiss*** like some lucky freepers. It was funny, but I've seen him so many times on the dose that I felt like I had seen this speech before.

O2
