Conservatives Should Support the President Now and in November Becauseā€¦
Jewish World Review, January ^ | January 13, 2004 | Martha Zoller

…They Asked for His Kind of Leadership

You hear it in the coffee shops all over the "red areas" of the map. Everyone knows that is where the real politics is discussed in America. Conservatives are asking themselves, "What was the President thinking?" They might be talking about No Child Left Behind, or steel tariffs or the signing of many less than conservative bills.

In the coffee shops in the "blue areas," liberals don't sit around much. They are too angry and busy to stop for a while but many are thinking that President Bush is the most conservative president in years, since "oh, my God, Reagan," and he must be stopped.

Both of these assessments cannot be true and after spending years looking at politics, I took my first serious stand on a candidate in 1968 at the tender age of 9, if both sides are mad at you, you are probably on the right track. So why should conservatives and moderates support the President, now on issues and later this year at the ballot box?

-snip-

Based on the history of this President, we better not count him out till we see how things unfold. He is what conservatives asked for in a President. He cut taxes, got our economy going again and lives and breathes the safety of this country and the people in it. When it is all said and done, George W. Bush does what he believes is right for the American people and he is willing to stand on his record in November.

-snip-

LP supports open borders?

So does Whore-Hay Bush. The difference is the LP won't give them any handouts once they arrive.

you goofballs support the legalization of drugs.

Yeah but at least we won't use taxpayer dollars to buy them for people.

Funny coming from you. You have been in these posts fighting with folks and just being argumentative. I get bored with those who have to try and intimidate and force their opinions down everyone's throat instead of exchange ideas. You're a real case from the looks of your posts on here.

Goodnight folks......I got more important things to do than argue with those who have nothing more to do than be combative, and find fault with everyone who doesn't agree with THEM. I like to read the more mature posts...even if I don't agree with them.

Bush does not get my vote if this immigration plan passes.

Next time let nopardons speak for himself ok?

I'm so sick and tired of those BUSH shills

Just that remark alone is telling. I don't recall ever speaking with you before and you come out with barrels blasting and name-calling...

You appear practiced at assuming to begin with... Bush doing his "dirty deed"? Nothing is on the table yet that I recall, and what has been discussed so far has a great many critical details missing.

Don't vote for Bush in November and you'll get the radical lefty you deserve. Unfortunatley we'll get him with you... and thanks so much.

and smells to me of RNC damage control.

Have you noticed that all of the media puppets are back to using "now 8 million illegal aliens" in the country? It's been called 14 million for years, but since the proposal was announced we somehow lost 7 million of them.

And they're not in the sex-drugs-n-rock-n-roll party

Funny, everyone I know likes sex, rock-n-roll and the occasional cocktail. You should give it a try some time, especially the sex thing provided you can find a willing fellow.

"You need to go back and look at what Nikita Kruschev said about invading the USA!"

You need to get a grip! Who cares what some fat loser commie said almost 50 years ago...and BTW, under whose leadership would it be MORE LIKELY to allow infiltration at the highest levels to defeat us from within...Dean, Hillary...or GWB? Who will more likely use Executive Orders to bypass Congress and the will of the people...Dean, Hillary, or GWB? Who will appoint unabashed liberal activist judges to rewrite the Constitution...Dean, Hillary, or GWB? Who will misuse the military and surrender our sovereignty to the UN and Kofi Annan...Dean, Hillary, or GWB?

We already have the answers my fellow FReeper!

Force the Republican to adopt a few liberal stances, which antagonizes conservatives so they'll stay home.

The RATS can't force us to do anything. What we need is a President with SPINE to stand up to them. Instead Bush not only gave into their every wish, but gave them even more than they asked for! That is not the Rats fault, it's ours for electing rubbish instead of Conservatives.

Still at work, going home to pick up my son. The exchanges have certainly not been educational.

It looks like so many are missing the bigger picture: If President Bush is not reelected to make appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court, President Dean will make a few. Dean's activist SCOTUS justices would be the most activist we've ever seen; and when Dean fails legislatively to ram his social agenda through, he'll turn to legal interventionism and activist judicial mechanisms. Like it or not, we need President George W. Bush to be reelected.

People are mad about prescription drugs, the guest worker program, steel tariffs-I know this is a list that keeps getting longer; but, there is one reason and one reason only to support President Bush. It that stands above all the others:

YOU CAN'T TURN CONTROL OF THE PEOPLE IN OUR MILITARY OVER TO THE DEMOCRAT PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, please, think about this. I know alot of people here are really mad about many of things President Bush has and hasn't done, but, he does understand the military. We can't turn them (military) over to the 'Rats. We can't.

If you guys stay home and don't vote, or, you vote for a third party, it's liable to happen. What do think you it's going to be like for them(soldiers) if they have to serve under someone who despises them,(Dean) or, a who is insane(Clark)?

I know you don't agree with the President about many issues, but, what about the things he has done, that you do like? Do you think a democRAT will give you ANYTHING at all that you want? Ask yourself: How much do you agree with President Bush?-70%? 50%? 40%? 15%?
Then ask yourself how much you agree with the democRATS? Do you agree with them about anything? Now tell me why you would risk turning our military and our country over to them by not supporting our President?

The only person you can agree with 100% of the time is yourself. In your daily life-Is there anyone who agrees with you 100%?( Sometimes I'm not even sure if I agree with my own self 100% of the time, much less anybody else.) I am disappointed about some of what President Bush has done. But , I believe that he does what he thinks is right, weather I agree or not, and that makes him a good leader.

People will always let you down. You can't expect perfection from anyone. All you can hope for is that they are sincere, and, do the best they can. You aren't perfect either, so why expect anyone else to be?

How much damage did Clinton to to our country? Can I remind everyone of how we ended up with 8 years of Clinton? People stayed home on election day, they didn't support their candidate

Please think about this.

The truth is often ugly and the one thing I will give the rabid lefties is they are true to their convictions. They are socialist through and through and will tell you so. The won't try to convince you they are for smaller govt like that other guy, Whore-Hay.

I'm not into guys, but Justin Raimondo is, and he's right there on Lewser Rockwell.com, along with all the other Libertarians who think such stuff is cute.

Like many other Libertarians, he blames this country for 9-11, and hates Jews.

THat's absolute BS. I supported, worked for and voted for Bush. I was a registered Republican. And I'll be giving Tancredo a check, my vote and volunteer to go door to door if need be to keep this Liberal from being re-elected.

Surely you are not trying to say our borders are closed are you? If you think that pull out your map of the Border, go to the Border Patrol site and see how many agents and check points there are. Plot them out, see if you can not find a spot to cross. (No I am not slamming the Border Patrol, they simply do not have the resources to seal the border.) Neither the Republicans nor the Demorats have any intention of closing it! The Republicans want cheap labor, the Dems what liberals, and both foolishly think they are going to obtain political allegiance. Illegal immigration begets illegal immigration. My personal belief is that we should modify the law to something we are willing to enforce, if we are not willing to enforce the law then take it off the books.
