WASHINGTON -- Jan-12 -- (CongressDaily) Software giant Microsoft is backing Democratic Sen. Patty Murray in her re-election bid against GOP Rep. George Nethercutt. "We've supported both Patty and George.
We supported George when he was a candidate for re-election in the House, but we're supporting Patty in her re-election," Jack Krumholtz, Microsoft's managing director for federal government affairs and associate general counsel, said in an interview with National Journal's Technology Daily.
Krumholtz added that Murray has been a "tremendous advocate for the industry and for our company." He added that Nethercutt is a "great guy and has been a great House member."
According to federal campaign disclosures, Microsoft's PAC and employees have donated $33,802 to Murray this campaign cycle. Nethercutt has received $5,000.

I think Nethercutt will do okay. I expect him to get to 45% at least, no problem. But that last 5% . . . that's a pretty steep climb with the media clutching at his ankles.

What are George's chances here to beat an incumbent? I suppose that depends on whether or not the incumbent championed Osama bin Laden's influence in terrorist countries. According to Patty "Osama Mama" Murray, bin Laden built roads and day care centers.
Hey may have built roads, but those were exclusively for supporting his terror infrastructure. But day care centers?? From a guy whose radical religion insists that women should stay at home, be beaten regularly, and wear a burqa in public? Gimme a break.

Nice thing about open source: Linux supports whomever the user supports.
My copy of Fedora was free - All those W2K Servers and Workstations I put in last year will help Murray win another term!

but will Nethercutt even mention that? this is what I don't understand, he's the underdog, so run a scorched earth campaign against her, what does he have to lose. The Dems are doing it to Bush, why can't we do this to a dimwit like Murray?

Microsoft loves Osama Mama Murray because she's the only person in the Senate still using Microsoft Bob.

Krumholtz added that Murray has been a "tremendous advocate for the industry and for our company." How much did she cost?

but will Nethercutt even mention that? this is what I don't understand That's what I don't get either. If I were Nethercutt, I'd be beating Murray over the head with that day and night, and I'd be highlighting her refusal to retract that rubbish and apologize for it. Hell, that idiot Murray defended her claims, for gosh sakes.

Ok, I've got to decide who to support, who are the IBM and GE and Coke candidates....

Yeah, well, in Eastern Washington Nethercutt will probably bash Murray, but here in the Commie west.....it falls on deaf ears.

Another dividend of the Clinton years. Prior to the anti-Microsoft lawsuit, MS didn't even pay a Washington lobbyiest.

Timing is everything.
