Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean blew his stack at an Iowa voter on Sunday who had asked him to end his "slam, bam and bash" rhetoric attacking President Bush. "Please tone down the garbage, the mean-mouthing of tearing down your neighbor and being so pompous," said Dale Ungerer during a question-and-answer session initiated by Dean after he had delivered his standard stump speech at the Oelwein Community Centre on Sunday.
Dean's response was calm at first, telling Ungerer, "George Bush is not my neighbor."
But when the Iowa Republican stood and tried to interrupt, Dean shouted: "You sit down. You had your say. Now I'm going to have my say."
According to Reuters, Dean railed, "George Bush has done more to harm this county right here with unfunded mandates, standing up for corporations who take over the farmers' land, making it impossible for middle class people to make a real living, sending our kids to Iraq without telling us the truth first about why they went."
Then, in a particularly ugly sound bite, the Democratic front-runner added, "It's not the time to put up any of this 'love thy neighbor' stuff."
"I love my neighbor," Dean insisted. "But I'll tell you I want THAT neighbor back in Crawford, Texas, where he belongs."
The episode marks the first time that the short-fused Democrat has lost his temper in public during the campaign, although last month he admitted he sometimes gets so angry he needs to be physically restrained.
"If someone punches me I am apt to chase them down, and I need to be restrained by the people who know better and have been in the game longer than I have," Dean told MSNBC.

I am apt to chase them down, and I need to be restrainedGiven Dean's size, anyone in my family could take him, though my 16 year old daughter would take a few minutes and my 2 and 3 year old great nephews MIGHT have a problem.

President Howard Dean would have a tough time explaining to visiting heads of state why his dinner jacket buttons up the back.

I have a feeling Howard's 19th came well before that picture was taken. This guy should be the poster child for abortion rights, what a waste of DNA!

Probably and isn't that a shame for a supposedly leader to have that attitude?

Let's see. We have one who wants to be cool and curse and now one that has to have a team to restrain him. Yawn. What's next? A rumble? Real tough guys don't have to prove they are tough.

So many words from Dean, when "You don't have to get snippy about it" would have sufficed.

I guess Mr. Religious Dean has dropped from sight again. Ah, Mr. Dean.....if you knew your Scripture, everyone is your neighbor, not just the person physically next to you....

There's something kind of disturbing to me about Dean, and that is he produces too much saliva when he talks. You know....like the nerd from high school days who had saliva bubbles coming out the side of his mouth when he talked? If I didn't know anything else about Dean, this one characteristic - bubble mouth - would be enough to turn me away from him!!

Should Deanie the Weenie win the nomination, all the Pubbies have to do is play video of this little outburst, and follow it up with a voice-over graphics that say 'Is this the man you want to trust negotiating with foreign leaders?'

Did anyone interview the "republican"? Could the entire scene have been planned?

George Bush is not my neighbor." Well, what do you know. It was a physician that passed by to the left after all.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
We are starting to learn what lies behind Dean's frequently demonic look.
