Resignation comes as city settles suit over her 'hate group' comments.

The Fresno Human Relations Commission chairwoman who called a local conservative organization a "hate group" resigned as the city reached a lawsuit settlement over her comments.

Debbie Reyes announced her resignation through an e-mail that was read Thursday evening at the commission meeting.

I have no doubt that they have also been frequenting the AF sites for ammo as well. I do know that they were licking their chops over the prospect of this going to trial and FR being "exposed as the hate site it is".

That's right, I forgot about that. In fact one of them at least did do some posting at one of the "peaceful" sites. Thanks for reminding me. My brain is not engaged much these days! :-)

I meant to tell you that JK photographed our Congressman's (Devin Nunes) wedding here last Saturday. Mayor Autry was at the reception so JK told him that he was one of the members of that "hate group" that waves their American flags on Blackstone and Shaw on Fridays. He said that Autry just beamed, shook his hand, slapped him on the back at told him that we were doing a fantastic job out there and to keep up the good work. Councilman Jerry Duncan was there also and came over to say how much he appreciated our support of the troops.

Thought you might like to know how much we are appreciated by the people who matter in Fresno. :-)

I have KMJ on. I wonder if this will be a subject of Ray's show this afternoon?

Interesting spin-out from the Fresno fracas.

Seems to me Castillo is real close to violating the agreement with those uncalled for and "hateful" remarks. His comments are no surprise as far as his personality goes, but I was surprised because of the nondisclosure clause that he would say such a thing. Quite arrogant , and rather flippant. He should be censured by the council for that IMO.

I am not a California lawyer, so I won't offer any suggestion on how it be done, but I bet Mr. Castillio could be brought to the point where he "clarified" his remarks.

I would think so too, although I also don't know the particulars of the law. Our attorney does thankfully!

Thanks for that info. Helps to know that our Mayor is still cheering us on. That is all we are intending to do on that corner, support our troops!

I also have Ray on, and so far as he discussed the topics, it doesn't sound like it. Maybe after the official press release he will.

If that isn't his topic, we will just get told we can't go on the air. I think once the press release is out, we will get a mention or two.. If not, I will be back on the phone with the manager demanding it!

I would, except I am not sure what I can and can't say. I'd be afraid I might give information that Charles would prefer we not discuss.

LIR, I've heard you call in before, you do a great job, and you have a better idea what Charles has said we can and can't talk about. I elect you. :-)

I love your cat!!! Our two kitties plunk themselves down right in front of the electric heater and roll on their backs with paws up in the air - to soak in the rays. It is soooooo funny!!!
