The selling out of America
Myself ^ | 01/08/04 | AbsoluteJustice

Posted on 01/08/2004 5:25:19 AM PST by AbsoluteJustice

Well Freepers our President has sold us up the river and hopefully this is a wake up call to conservatives. The guest worker program is a DISASTER waiting to happen. One of President Reagan's mistakes in 1986 was to give blanket amnesty to illegals prior to sealing up the border and overhauling INS. It was stated that by doing this it would curb and put an end to illegal immigration. Since then it has doubled. Now we are seeing the same thing all over again.

O'Reilly pulled current numbers from the census bureau and foun the following. It costs this country 20 billion dollars a year in illegal immigration. 35% of LEGAL immigrants are on welfare or receive some form of government assistance. Like O'Reilly said if I were a Mexican living in Mexico I would be on the next bus here to America. When is America going to wake up and understand that current immigration brings unskilled, uneducated workers who NEED government assistance. Do they want to work? Yes and no. Yes there is no doubt about it that those who wish to work bust their butts in working but for below average wages. This myth that they pay taxes is also false. Those in the lower tax brackets pay no federal income taxes. Most have no health coverage and use hospitals for common illnesses. Guess who picks up the tab? I say also no they do not want to work because current numbers would support this, the 35% LEGAL immigrants currently on welfare. O'Reilly also stated that Vicente Fox is probably jumping for joy over this. He gets to dump his unskilled poor labor force on us and then reap the rewards when these people dump money back into his economy. It is a win win for this guy. I still do not understand why America appeases this guy.

This myth that immigrant workers take jobs the rest of Americans would not is totally false. Remember the great depression in the 20's? A time in which American workers were killing each other to find work? There is also a myth that immigrants are paying their share of taxes. This is also false. Illegal immigrants do not pay taxes. Furthermore, of those immigrants, LEGAL immigrants cost this country more in services rendered than what they put into the system. To save myself making such a broad accusation without proof I will provide you links of these facts. I will first provide you a quote from this website and then you may click on the link to read the website further. "For instance, in 1996 legal immigration alone cost Floridians $6 billion, up 77% from 1992. Legal immigration cost Texans $7 billion, New Yorkers $14 billion and Californians an amazing $28 billion. These are the compounded costs of Public Schools, Bilingual Education, Medicaid, AFDC, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Housing Assistance, Criminal Justice, as well as job loss by Americans and other programs, for a total cost to American taxpayers of $136 billion dollars." http://www.carryingcapacity.org/100000.html

I will provide you with one more quote and link. I hope that you take these facts seriously. "research suggests that "between 40 and 50 percent of wage-loss among low-skilled Americans is due to the immigration of low-skilled workers. Some native workers lose not just wages but their jobs through immigrant competition. An estimated 1,880,000 American workers are displaced from their jobs every year by immigration; the cost for providing welfare and assistance to these Americans is over $15 billion a year." http://www.cairco.org/econ/econ.html

As a solution we need to make abled body Americans currently on the government dole (welfare) take those jobs that people claim only illegal immigrants will take. Our entire INS dept. needs an overhaul. We should start mass deportation of those immigrants that do not belong here. Many would say that we do not have the money for this. This is not true. Stop services, it is that simple. Stop the medical care, stop the welfare, stop other related services and dump it into immigration reform, border agents backed up by the National Guard, and deportation. My tax dollars are going to people that 1)Do not belong here and 2)Going to those that have been placed into a legal status because the defunct INS gives legal status to those that have nothing to offer this country in the way of professional services or real job production. For example; remember that LEGAL citizen that came from Europe, I believe he may have been Croatian, who lived in California? He killed his child some 3 years ago and placed the child into a dumpster. He then wrote to police where they could find the child. Want to know what this legal citizens' profession was? He was an unemployed shoe repairman. How was this individual granted legal status? Was this a man that was considered a contributor to society? Because of current immigration policy, these are the types of individuals that my tax dollars pay for.

I encourage ALL to write their Congressmen and Senators. I already have. This is the collective end to America as we know it.

*Illegals* will never, ever, have the same opportunities our ancestors had. You say immigrants deserve the same opportunities, and that may be true, but it is also true we don't have an unlimited supply of resources. It's getting harder for everybody.

I don't have a problem with controlled immigration, but will not vote for any politician - and that includes President Bush - that cannot understand that immigration must be controlled. All Bush has said with this "proposal for immigration reform" is: "come one come all." It was done for the benefit of the rich and corrupt in both Mexico and America, and that in itself makes me furious.

I'm not "hateful" yet, nor would I ever consider voting *for* a Democrat. I am not a one issue person, either. But like most people, I do have issues near and dear to me.

"? The knee-jerk reactions on this board are ridiculous."

I agree to a point. Although mine were not knee jerk mine were based upon Bushs' plan which is entirely ridiculous. Now I do understand that this was only a prelim and it appears a better bill is being brought forward BUT BUT BUT My wonderful senator will probably lock it up in the Senate because IMO he is an incognito Demonrat (McCain.)
The only person I see from the democrats to counter McCain's vote would be Zell Miller.

The Chineese considered the Mongolian barbarians to be inferior. The reference should have ended there.

However, Mecico has 150 million people and is not on a par with America or Europe. There is some inferiority involved.

The truth you percieve is simply incorrect. There is now a pressure, the force of history operating against our southern border. The act of simply closing the border will not resist the pressure. The flow of people is unstoppable short of extermination.

The American Indians felt a similar pressure and were unable to resist, even after going to war. Some solution short of war is being sought.

The pressure heretofore insignificant must be relieved. The current initiative is to begin a dialogue to determine exactly how that can best be done. Nothing has been done except to begin the discourse.

Another alternative would be to annex all territory south to the Columbian border. That also would produce great and probably unaceptable change. It is however an alternative solution.

An inferior culture is what the subjects want to leave and a superior culture is what they want to go to. Subjects are smart, if a little lacking in courage to make their's a free and superior culture.

A most excellent response, sir, that deserves to be read again.

Recall if you will the Great Wall of China. It was built at great cost to prevent an invasion of inferior peoples similar tho that faced by America today. The Great Wall was a failure and did not accomplish the intended purpose.

You seem to forget that the Great Wall did not fail in it's job, but that the Chinese Leaders at the time OPENED the gates and LET the invaders in.

The politicans in D.C. have actually done WORSE. They not only have left the gate wide open, but the politicans have told the invaders that they will take money from their native born citizens and PAY the invaders to come here and STAY.

This goes beyond betrayal. THIS IS NATIONAL SUICIDE!!

The politicans in D.C. have combined the three ways, three great nations in the past destroy themselves INTO ONE!!

Western Rome: who destroyed itself through politican corruption, mass regualtion, mass taxation and mass welfare until it was to weak to defend itself from invaders.

Eastern Rome: who tried too paid off their northern enemies until they bankrupted themselves and their enimies invaded anyway.

Ancient China: who's leaders opened the Gates of the Great Wall of invited their invaders to come in and then they were taken over by the invaders.

This has gone way beyond the point of no return. The politicans of BOTH political parties in D.C. are right now writing the last chapter of the histroy of the United States.

I don't what will happen after this country collapses, but I doubt it will be pretty.

There is another side to the issue...... Mexican land.

If there are to be Mexicans allowed into the USA, Americans should be allowed into Mexico. There are areas south of Arizona and Texas that should be opened with free access to American real estate developers. The access to land at Mexican prices with Mexican labor available should be a real boon to baby boomer retirement developments. Half price retirement community in a warm climate might appeal to a lot of Americans.

The creep of Hispanic culture north will be matched by the pressure of American economic expertise south.

The forces can not be stopped by erecting a fence, even a fence with troops.

First build a serious fence similar in function to Hadrian's wall it won't stop 100% of the invasion but it sure as heck slow the rate WAY down. Second start putting serious pressure on the MEXICAN GOVERNMENT to get its act together. Third start seizing assets of those folks who recruit, smuggle, hire, illegal alien laborers. Fourth get serious about reforming the INS so that they have the will & the morale to do the job required of them namely the control of this nations borders, the administration of the process of 1.immigration into this country. 2.the setting of standards for entrance into the country & the naturalization of immigrants to this country. 3. the encouragement & lawful assistance to those foriegners in this country who desire to become citizens to do so. Unconditional surrender is not the answer! A great deal of hard work & serious thought on the other hand will provide a solution.

The object of the exercise is to regain control of our borders ! Yes most immigrants are wanting nothing more than the chance to improve thier lot in life ,BUT at the present time what we have is inexcusable we have absolutely no idea who is coming across our borders or what there intentions are, whether they are healthy or ill ,skilled or unskilled , criminals, lunatics,or degenerates. The need to get control of the borders so that controlled immigration can take place is one of the things that defines a nation as a nation. Unconditional surrender is not an option . Claiming that the folks coming across the U.S.-Mexican border is a unstoppable force in history is clap trap. To paint with the broad brush & accuse those who want to get control of the borders so as to get controlled legal orderly immigration into this country as "xenophobic ,racist ,sexist, facist add your favorite ad-hominem attack from the DNC phrase book here " is an insult to the intelligence of the people who not only disagree with you but also those that agree .

" The current initiative is to begin a dialogue to determine exactly how that can best be done."

We have been "dialoguing" for years and years and years till we are blue in the face. Nothing in Washington but a bunch of blowhards out to gain more power. Not one politician will speak the truth in this or risk political suicide.

It is this simple immigrants LEGAL AND ILLEGAL are making this country BROKE! There I said it.

Damn I need to run for political office or my wife is going to kill me for my compasion for politics. I feel for my poor wife having to listen to me LOL.

The Scranton area is becoming saturated with illegals all of a sudden. I just can't believe what I'm seeing. They're working in all the restaurants and wherever. Matter of fact, I remember seeing a thread on this forum that one of the local manufacturers was raided before Christmas and there MANY illegals there..What do they do with them--get them their cards..these people work dirt cheap. Hate to say this, when I see them in the pizza restaurants, it's like they've hired their entire family, and they speak both spanish and english, but when they don't want you to know what they're saying, you guessed it. Honestly, I've stopped patronizing this excellent pizza restaurant due to this. This area wasn't like this a year ago, and all of a sudden, it's like the dyke's opened..and from Bush comments, MORE will be coming here...However, I hear that a Sister Adrian has a lot to do with this from the Friends of the Poor...This area isn't going to be the same, that's for sure.

Get used to it my friend. Get ready for a tax hike because of underskilled and uneducated workers speaking psycho babble that will be "accepted" or you are a rascist.

Forget the language of success (English) we can start more bilingual education for AMERICANS because this is the right thing to do. Hey but but what about Japanese? Indian? Tegalo (SP?), but but.....I am getting sick to my stomach

Thanks for a well-documented analysis and debunking the myths that water down the illegality of illegal immigration.

I have called my representative about this.

The Center for Immigration Studies estimated that the ratio was about three new immigrants brought in under family reunification for every amnestied illegal.

In the current situation, this process would accelerate because no long visa application period would be required. Immediate family would get in...immediately.

So the arithmetic is...11 million x 3 + the original 11 million...drum roll...44 million Mexicans coming to the United States.

Forever.
