LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT -- FOREIGN INVADERS WHO COMMIT CRIMES AND ARE UNDOCUMENTED (MEANING THE U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT NEVER DID A BACKGROUND CHECK TO SEE IF THEY WORK FOR A FOREIGN ARMY OR WERE MASS MURDERERS OR CARRIERS OF THE PLAGUE WHERE THEY CAME FROM -- THE EMPLOYER SURE AS HECK WON'T) WILL BECOME "LEGAL" RESIDENTS IN THE US?
EVERY CRIMINAL IN THE WORLD WILL FLOCK TO THE UNITED STATES...
EVERY MAJOR CORPORATION IN THE UNITED STATES WILL ALSO USE THIS PROGRAM TO BARGAIN DOWN THE LABOR COSTS FOR EVERY SINGLE JOB IN THE UNITED STATES (FROM DOCTORS TO FARM LABORERS) -- SET LOW SALARIES, THEN HAVE AMERICANS NOT APPLY AND THEN CLAIM A "NEED" FOR LABOR. THIS IS WHY THE SOCIALIST REVOLUTIONARY HEADING THE AFL-CIO IS BEHIND THIS! WHAT BETTER WAY TO RESCUE SOCIALIST LABOR THAN TO UTTERLY DESTROY THE BARGAINING POSITION OF ALL NON-UNION LABOR...
To: Dazedcat
If Clinton had proposed this, my guess is you would be screaming treason until your larnyx bled. But a Republican makes it ok????Bump for the truth.
Whereas Clinton wrestled with the meaning of the word "is," it appears that Bush has no interest in understanding the word "illegal."

There are an estimated eight million to ten million undocumented immigrants in the U.S., ...
and
It applies to only those working already or with a job promised, but it also identifies their employers who have to pay Social Security and payroll taxes.
How many of these 8 to 10 million immigrants are an integral part of the "Underground economy"?
How many of these employers will be willing to admit that they have been breaking the law?
Is this another effort to infuse more money into Social Security? (Similar to the 'concern' over Minimum Wage)
To: BushCountry
Immigration as a proportion of population is about a third of what is was in the peak years in the early part of the 20th century..
A slight rain in the presence of a flood condition does a lot more damage than that same amount of rain, absent the flood.

No, you didn't that directly. I have been noticing many people express the same opinion as you on Free Republic and it's the wrong tact to take. This policy is one that makes many Bush supporters unhappy. However, if too many choose the logic of not voting or writing in a person to make a point, make no mistake a democrat will get in. That's what makes it a vote for a dem. Our National Security will be in serious jeopardy. Listen to what the 4 idiot dem primary candidates state as far as their foreign policy. It's scary. If people alienate the base because of this policy, the point being made will be moot. It will be worse than this policy. It absolutely will not be worth it in the long run. As I said, the terrorist are praying to Allah for Bush to lose.

In short, I value my vote and I do not believe in choosing lesser of the two evils. Therefore I'm not going to give my vote to support someone who does not support my interests.

Question..how do you remove 8 million illegalsYou remove the incentive for them to be here. In short, you dismantle welfare completely. The current crop of deadbeats who refuse to work will fill the low paying positions left by the illegals. It's a win-win for every American, but that apparently doesn't fit the big government agenda of indentured servitude to the Imperial Federal Government.

Yes, it surely was Rush's finest hour.
His example of outrageous abuse of America........a hospital was actually forced to pay for an illegal immigrant's chemotherapy following his cancer surgery.

I understand, Dr. Marten. I respect your opinion.
I just worry. I live on Long Island in NY. I was in NYC shortly after the destruction of the World Trade Center attack. My husband flew out on business early that very morning. I know of people who died and the family left behind. I have family/friends who, by the grace of God, survived that day. I have family in D.C. also. That alone makes me recognize that now it's not voting for the lesser of two evils. At this point, it is who will protect America the best to prevent such horrific terrorist attacks from happening again. The world is far from perfect. If we only have two candidates to chose from that can win, I choose the one who will defend America against attack. A man who will support and give our troops all they require to fight this war. To me, our time to protest is during 2008. Right now it is too dangerous. I also understand why some will feel betrayed by this policy. However, its so upsetting to see people choose not to vote for Bush. That said, maybe someone who reads my post will see my point and it may change their mind. God Bless and best wishes to you.

Question..how do you remove 8 million illegals (without hiring 8 million more govt employees raising your taxes) or having a forced movement of persons that would make the Nazi trains to the concentration camps look like Thomas the tank engine!
Answer: Start enforcing Federal employment laws that are already on the books. The 1987 Amnesty Program included Federal laws that REQUIRED employers to verify the identity and immigration status of their employees. Failure to do so could result in a $10k per offense or more fine. Furthermore, there is criminal penalties for knowingly violating the law.
If the Feds gave all employers 120 days to comply with the law, and announced that they would commence with random and unannounced "compliance checks", the 8-10 million illegal problem would rapidly disappear.

"In short, I value my vote and I do not believe in choosing lesser of the two evils. Therefore I'm not going to give my vote to support someone who does not support my interests." Your position is quite illogical since it presupposes that there is such a thing as a "perfect" candidate.
Do you actually believe that? If you do, please read no further because irrational mentalities will not be swayed by reason and logic.
There are hundreds of millions of people in this country who have their own ideas about what constitutes their perfect candidate.
Will you agree with each one of them?
No.
Will each one of them agree with you?
No.
Out of all those people with differing opinions, who is the one that gets to determine what constitutes "the perfect candidate"?
You?
If that is so, then all of the others would have to vote for less than their idea of a "perfect" candidate.
Since there are only TWO viable political parties in America; The Republican Party and the DemocRAT Party, that means that everyone who doesn't agree with you will have to be voting for the lesser of two evils.
In fact, any rational person that didn't have a hidden agenda to promote, would not only recognize that reality, but admit it.
Logic and reality 101: If you don't vote for the lesser of two evils, or if you sit home and don't vote, you will, in actuality, be casting your vote for the worst of two evils.
Socratic questions (which will lead all rational persons to a logical, sound conclusion):
[1] Which of the two candidates will America's enemies consider to be the lesser of two evils?
[2] What happens if they are the only ones to vote?
How hard are they laughing as they watch the illogical (who are waiting for the perfect candidate) cut off their noses to spite their faces?
It wouldn't be so bad if those illogical mentalities were only cutting off their own noses, but the damage they do affects the whole country.

you make some good points. but by 2008, the choice will be how to stop hillary from taking the presidency, so there won't be alot of choices then either.
