"Just how lesser does this have to be?"

Well, since all temporal governments are headed up by imperfect human beings (this isn't a theocracy and we don't have direct rule by the perfect one, ie: God), then the principled vote should always go to the candidate (in one of the only two viable parties) who comes the closest to reflecting the values you believe in.

To sit at home and not vote, to vote for some third party candidate, or to write in a name, none of whom have a chance of winning, is to empower the most unprincipled ones among us to decide who will be elected.

But there are a lot of reeeeeeeally stuuuuuuupid people out there who will actually be willing to cut their nose off to spite their face and do it.

"Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be taught, and drunkenness sobered, but STUPID lasts forever." -Aristophanes.

re: cutting off our American noses to spite our Bush administration faces...

You make some sense, BUT--

At what point do we reach critical mass? On foxnews.com right now there is a whole new admin initiative to put men back on the moon. To retrace our footprints, I presume, to the tune of trillions.

A whole new Medicare entitlement, to the tune of dozens of billions.

87 billion on Iraq.

Bush is spending like a crazy man. If he were a Dem, we might be in a better position to stop him. As it is, we're not so able to.

So, does the point of critical mass exist for you?

I agree. No big problem to deport the illegals, can be done easily. And our military should protect our borders.

There is not one single reason why catering to the illegal aliens. They have demonstrated that they are ready to break our laws if it benefits them or their agenda. They pose a danger to our country. And we surely do not need more people.

So what if deporting illegal aliens upsets the criminals and those nations who hope to dump their surplus population on us.

It is time to think of the future of this country.

"I wonder where you stand on open arms compassionate acceptance of the remnants of the Bantu tribe of Africa,"

Actually, I welcome them, too. Most of the world is a rathole. The folks that have the gumption to pick up and move here are welcome, as far as I'm concerned. I do admit hoping that some who come here will go back to their former homes to teach, at least, perhaps to stay and teach more. I think the rest of the world will be a much better place when the American Revolution spreads across the whole world. Won't happen in my lifetime, probably, but who knows? Either we are the future of the world, or there is not future.

"I took my 23-year-old daughter was there in 1994 (all the way down to Marrakesh), you also see women washing clothes in the streams and letting them dry on the shrubs.

At the time she saw this, she said she was proud of what little she had now. A good lesson for her."

Good lesson for her, in truth. We are so blessed here, and so many of us don't even know it.

"In short, I value my vote and I do not believe in choosing lesser of the two evils. Therefore I'm not going to give my vote to support someone who does not support my interests."

Politics is the art of the possible. Not everything that is good is possible, unfortunately. If you vote for anyone other than Bush, as things stand, you will have voted for Dean, will you or won't you. That is just the way it will work out. I'd suggest you pray about it, and keep praying; Bush needs guidance from above more than most of us, and Dean will need it even worse, I suspect.
