They can't locate everyone. It's right down the street from me. I wish the TV helicopters would go away. I've had to reset the alarm on my truck 4 times already.

Hadn't noticed that one recently. Check out 9-11.

SeeBS 11 was reporting that the plane took off from Love Field going to Amarillo, TX, with four people were on board. No survivors from the plane. There were no fatalities on the ground.
Two houses directly hit and 3 more houses with minor damage.

Is that north of LBJ? The plane crash was south of LBJ.

I live in that general area. The crash would have been about half way between here and LBJ.

FWIW - Over the past months, many of the early reports of these small plane crashes have detailed more dead passengers than finally are listed officially as on board the flight.
Here the SacBee says "four passengers." But now we're hearing "two passengers."
I've seen this pattern several times, such as on Friday, 6-6-03, when a small plane nose-dived into an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in L.A.
This numbering-down of passengers is peculiar and strangely frequent lately. Wonder if there are "wheel-well stowaways" on props with evil-doer intentions?

You have a devious mind. I like it.
Actually, you may be onto something here. You're right - this has happened several times now and one has to wonder at the reason.

Nope, it's just the usual fog and confusion right after an incident, with everybody guessing from the passenger capacity of the plane (the SacBee probably heard it was a four-passenger plane and the reporter said "as many as 4" and that got edited down to "4 passengers").
A copy of the flight plan can't be obtained by the news hounds immediately. When they get that, the numbers settle down.

You're right - this has happened several times now and one has to wonder at the reason.
Vast grand gov't conspiracies to hide the truth (for what reason - to what nefarious end)?
Mysterious stowaways hiding on small aircraft (ONE wonders how they were missed during the pilot's pre-flight walk-around inspection)?
OR maybe the press has been going with 'various' accounts by various sources - the flight-line personnel who witnessed persons approaching said aircraft while on the ground, the flight plan filed with the FAA and finally unofficial 'observers' at the crash flight that don't know what they're looking at from a distance ...

One house was vacant, the other occupied by one man who was rescued. From news reports I've heard today, apparently the man is elderly and was literally carried out of the burning house by his caretaker, a small woman. I haven't found a picture of her (or him) yet, but if the facts hold up, the woman is a hero.

...listed officially as on board the flight.Officially? Do you call the local police HQ every time you and the wife drive to the supermarket and tell them how many people will be in your car, your time of departure, amount of fuel on board, and estimated time of return?

I only take the plane to the mall every other Tuesday...
It's just speculation, sc. No need to get worked up about it.
Follow the news reports yourself and see if history repeats.

I have two friends with private planes and last I knew, although I grant you I don't pay a lot of attention, they have to file passenger lists as they are preparing to leave the airport.
It's how when there is a plane crash, authorities are able to so quickly determine who was on board.

I have a relative who pilots trans-Atlantic business jets as well as smaller planes for recreation, and he was given this warning months ago.
It's not surprising when you consider the times.

VFR pilots have the
option of filing a flight plan with the FAA. The idea used to be that if you were overdue at your destination, people would come looking for you along your route of flight.
Since about 15 years ago when the FAA started using flight plans against pilots in enforcement actions, many pilots have simply stopped filing them.
Many VFR pilots now just give their flight plan to a friend or relative, not the government.
After all, you don't need permission from the federal government to drive to the supermarket. Why should a pilot need permission to fly to a neighboring community on a business or sighseeing trip?
IFR flights are different. You are required to file a flight plan if you want to fly on instruments.

The point of my comment was not so much about procedure as it was an observation of a strangly consistent
over-estimation of casualties in the initial reports/eyewitness accounts of light airplane crashes, followed by a numbering
down in official reports, which then match the flight plans and/or relative's reports.
I have yet to see one where the actual body count went up from first reports regarding the number of occupants.
Probably just an oddity, all these sightings of elusive dead guys.

What's your point there anyway - is that more a commentary on how variable the press's "numbers" can be?
SURELY you don't believe there are *sinister* forces at work subtlety and efficiently working to reduce the body count - do you?
