Freepers drive to Crawford to have a hamburger with President Bush

Freepers gather in Crawford to try to see President Bush. From San Marcos the Bat Lady and her dad (from El Paso) drive to Austin and pick up Gracey. TheSarce drives down from Dallas where she has been staying and on her way back stops off in Crawford to have a hamberger. Intel from past years has it that the President has come into town to have a hamberger on the 31st of the year.

Station |
The Fina (as named by most residents) is a family owned business by Stan and Kathy Nagel and has been a part of the Crawford community for many, many years. Located at the corner of 4th St. and N. Lone Star Pkwy, the Fina Station is in the heart of Crawford with the famous Tonkowa Park nearby, and in the opposite direction, 4th street leads you toward the Bush Ranch. Crawford Station has become famous worldwide for our Bushland maps. Our Fina prides itself as being the "town store". We of course, carry a full array of convenience store items. Mornings at the store are always hopping as the locals gather for coffee and breakfast before starting the day's activities. Lunchtime we have a daily lunch special along with our delicious grilled hamburgers and homemade "steamer" burritos. The all time favorite question of tourists is where is the Bush ranch and have you ever met President Bush? YES! We've met him numerous times and are having a wonderful time being the hometown of our President. Stop by when you're in town and we'll share stories and pictures with you. Look below to see our selection of Bush Souvenir and Gift items. Please feel free to call our store for information or to order any items below. Our Fax number is (254) 486-9626. |

Yeah well I almost ate a bite of that plastic turkey that the President held up in Iraq trying to deceive the media and the stinkin' commies with as it passed by over my house in the airplane from Taiwan where it was made on it's way to Iraq to be sneaky to reporters.
Only the bad thing was, the ladder on my pool that I climbed upon to reach the plane's open door as it flew over wasn't tall enough! But I could see the "made in Taiwan" sticker on the bottom of the plastic piece of fakery meant to fool the world in an evil way, so it is almost the same as having Thanksgiving dinner with the President!

The Bat Lady has been a big tease.... LMAO PIMP. I was there and just reading this got ME anxious to see if WE saw the President. LOL.
However, BradyLS is correct. The President was planning on coming.... but we heard that the Secret Service came by, scanned the place, saw the mobs of people (there were cars EVERYWHERE, and people everywhere, more than live in the town) and probably decided it wasn't safe.
We were told that before the President arrives the restaurant is swept clean about an hour before the event, gas pumps are turned OFF at the gas station in front of the restaurant, all cars are moved off the property, etc.
Well, while we were standing outside waiting for additional news, a secret service guy, came by and picked up a big bag of "take out" order. Apparently this is done occasionally.
The locals said that the President comes by in person at least ONCE each time he's in town, and he's not been there yet. Could be because the Secret Service won't let him, this time.
Sorry for the tease, but must say, you guys are so funny.
Still LMAO.
Brady, You had it nailed down.

Too bad you didn't get to see/meet the President. I met then Vice President Quayle....that was very cool....I was asked to credential the press on the tarmac at Palm Springs Airport....there was a definite excitement in the air as we stood watching his plane land and see him walk across the tarmac....!

"Yeah well I almost ate a bite of that plastic turkey that the President held up in Iraq" GEEEEEE!!!!
I'M IMPRESSED!!
When I get out there can I please have your autograph?
And since Chadsey was probably close by, I'd like to get his autograph, too!
No, I don't mind standing in line......
To: Ditter
Since we're reminiscing...
I once protested Clinton with "Rapist" signs in Los Angeles when he was out here trawling for illegal Chinese campaign dollars.
We made it (photo, showing our signs) to the front page of
the L.A. Daily News. Doug-Up was there too.
The secret service guys in front of the hotel were laughing.
